The reviews you'll read also mention my bf, who is now living abroad, so from this point forward, it is just me in my apartment.
I travel quite a bit and consider myself to be wordly. I work for an international NGO and focus on transforming rural healthcare in India and other countries. I just finished a cross-country road trip in the US, which was amazing to say the least. Last year I received my MA in Int'l Science and Tech Policy. I am very friendly and love DC so am happy to have guests from all over. I enjoy a nice glass of wine after work and ride my bike almost everywhere in the city.
I'm actually training for a triathlon, so if you need to work out while in the District, I can point you in the right direction. I am very active. I've lived in Russia and have traveled in Eastern and Western Europe, spent 5 weeks in Azerbaijan, have been to Kazakhstan, was in India for a month in May 2010, and I spent a few weeks in Kenya in March 2009.
In my view, if you are only really sleeping at a hotel, there is no need to pay and arm and a leg and it is better to travel and stay with locals anyway.
I've been in DC for 10 years, so I know the city quite well.
I was lucky to rent Chloe's place over the 2011-2012 holiday! Yes, the place is HUGE and clean and bright. The bedrooms are on different floors and one has a big, beautiful bathroom with a great pressure shower. The other bedroom has a balcony off the back and there is a half bath on that floor. It's in a great location as two trams are right outside the door and the one around the corner takes you right to central station in a few minutes. Choe was a great host, offering books on... More »
January 2012I really enjoyed my stay on Chloe's couch. It was surprising comfortable! I loved the light coming in through the many windows in the living room. The weather was great and I spent a great deal of time on the patio. The Columbia Heights location was great, as it was only a few blocks to the metro station. The diversity of the area was great. I didn't get to meet Chloe until my final night there, but even in absentia, she was a great hostess. Highly recommend it, while you can... she's... More »
Chloe was friendly, accommodating and flexible! She was out quite a bit but I was as well; a perfect place to crash and work. Great, great, great neighborhood!
The location was very central and easy to get to. Chloe was an awesome and helpful host. For example on the eve of my departure she helped me sort out last minute details on how to get me to BWI airport.
I had a great stay at Chloe's, who is extremely nice and easy-going. It's a loss to DC that she's leaving this summer - we travellers can only hope that she'll again offer her comfy sofa wherever she'll move.
Chloe is a fantastic hostess! She is really helpful in terms of giving advice on the DC area - where to go, what to see, how to get about. The couch is also very comfy. She is very kind and helpful - definitely recommend staying with her.
Chloe is a refreshingly interesting person, and I LOVED her place! It was clean, well-appointed (which for me means BOOKS) and I felt at home, when I was actually there. I felt conscious about intruding on her space, but she reassured me that I was welcome, and that felt good for a woman who was feeling quite displaced in life at that point. Thank you!
I really enjoyed my stay. Chloe proved to be the most personable and easy to talk to host I’ve stayed with. I really appreciated her restaurant recommendations as they were excellent. Her place was ideal for using the Metro system with several stops within walking distance. Chloe really does embody the spirit and ideals behind airbnb. I recommend her place without hesitation.
Chloe was very friendly and helpful. The place is interesting: it's on the top floor of the building and has a balcony on the south side and a patio on the north side, giving nearly a 360 view of the city.
Chloe is an amazing person and even better host. "Mi casa tu casa" takes on a whole new meaning with her. Everything was perfect and I highly recommend staying here if you are in town. The location is everything and you will not find an easier way to the airport if you're flying into DC by Reagan Int'l.
I had a great stay. Chloe is awesome, and her couch is super comfy!
Quiet location four floors above a street that's only used by residents, with no through traffic. Around the corner from shopping and restaurants. Friendly, hospitable host.
The host canceled my reservation 37 days before arrival. Was pleasant and apologetic.
Chloe is a great host, I really enjoyed my stay. She is very friendly and outspoken. Surely given an opportunity would like to go back.
It was easy to like Chloe right away. Her home was comfortable and she made a great host.
Chloe's pad was really convenient to the conference I needed to be at. A super nice and very helpful person, I recommend her to anyone who is new to DC. She's really knowlegeable and eager to share. The couch was pretty comfy, I was just to excited to sleep :) I'll be staying with Chloe on my next visit.
Chloe was very friendly and accomodating and answered all my questions about D.C. and the neighborhood (as well as giving me several great suggestions on places to go and things to see); couldn't give her a higher recommendation!
Chloe was a wonderful host and we had interesting conversation. We had dinner together, and I wished we'd had more time to spend. I got a great nights sleep on the couch (very comfy and soft but firm) and felt very welcome! Chloe also sends an incredibly helpful and organized sheet of nearby places to go. Also, the Columbia Heights neighborhood had an interesting heritage walking tour and great architecture nearby! It was nice to see an actual neighborhood (rather than a sterile downtown... More »
Chloe let me stay in her apartment without her being there...which I thought was pretty cool! Good location, comfy couch, nice bathroom. Cool patio although I didn't use it. Very friendly!!
Chloe is friendly and the place is nice.
The host canceled my reservation 38 days before arrival.
Chloe was friendly and helpful throughout my stay. I would certainly recommend her apartment to anyone.
Chloe and her boyfriend Bram were superb D.C. hosts! Chloe was very helpful throughout my entire stay. The digs are cool, clean, and close to Columbia Heights metro station. She always had yummy food to share as well :) Thanks Chloe and Bram, cheers!
Thank you Chloe and Bram! It was very nice to stay with you and your place is so lovely! Nice view even thou I got to experience nice thunders over few days, but it was only water ;) I would definitely love to have place like that myself =) Place is very easy to access and close to Metro station. I do highly recommend Chloe =o)
I had a great time at Chloe's DC apartment. She invited me to a 4th of July cookout! Delicious coffee, scintillating conversation, close to Metro stop. Who could ask for more?
I could not have asked for better hosts than Chloe and Bram. They made me feel at home in their awesome Columbia Heights apartment.
Chloe and her BF were great hosts, they made this incredible dinner shortly after my arrival and then we went to a party at Chloe's friend's place nearby. The friend is a prolific airbnb host, he came up with this newsletter/infopac style email to send to guests, really cool idea. The infopac Chloe sent out was well done, all airbnb should emulate it! The day I left, Chloe looked up the Metro schedule for me and found there were considerable delays on my way to the airport, this was a trip... More »
I really enjoyed my stay with Chloe. She was my first AIRBNB experience and she made my stay very comfortable. The neighborhood is convinient to public transportation, shopping, dining and the major landmarks in DC are in walking distance. The 3 flights of stairs were to much for me but the exercise was good. She provided lots of information which helped to make my stay fun and productive!!Thanks Chloe Stay in touch.
This is my first experience with AIRBNB and I couldn't have picked a better host :) Chloe is very friendly and helpful and her place is such easy access to Metro in DC. She has definitely set a very high standard for my future experiences as a guest, and possibly as a host. Thank you, Chloe.
Chloe was an amazing host! She makes you feel right at home. I recommend her place to anyone who wants a comfortable place to stay and a new friend. Thanks for everything :)
Perfect, helpful host! I recommend her place to anyone who wants a comfortable place to stay close to the center of WDC, with the host you can talk to. Thank You
Chloe was an excellent host during the inauguration festivities in DC. She keeps her apartment well-kept and is friendly and sociable. Also, she makes a darn good scrambled egg breakfast for 5:30am. She is also very helpful when it comes to local knowledge of where to eat, drink, and get free WiFi. I plan on staying with Chloe if I visit DC again soon.
I had a great time with Chloe. She´s a wonderful host. It was like coming home, I felt very welcomed. Thank you for everything!!! The couch is very comfortable, the appartment nice and clean, easy to reach from the subway. Shops, restaurants are nearby. If I´ll ever come back to Washington, I´ll never stay in a hotel/hostel again. Hope to sleep on your couch again.
This was my first time to DC for more than a day, and Chloe was a wonderful introduction to this fascinating city. She gave me the scoop on some great coffee bars that have free WIFI, had some great pumpkin pie in the fridge, and is a great person to have conversation with. Her apartment is very cool, with a comfy futon, wifi, a great view of the city, close access to the metro (2 blocks), and very eclectic interior design and literature lining the walls. She is becoming quite an experienced... More »
Thank you Chloe for a quick and easy ABB experience - a comfortable sofa bed and a friendly, easy going host with breakfast to boot. I would recommend Chloe to all.
A very positive experience. Chloe was a great host. Her apartment was a perfect place to rest, hang out, and work. The room was clean and bright with good air flow. I got good sleep, which was just what I needed. It was great to have a kitchen to make meals and snacks; loads better than staying in a hotel. The wifi was solid and I did some telecommuting from her kitchen table. The metro was an easy walk from her place. It turns out we have some common interests and we shared some... More »
I had a very quick business meeting in DC recently and was unable to stay at the host hotel due to late booking. I knew about AB&B and decided to take a look at the profiles in the DC area. What was important to me first was location/proximity to my meeting place. Second priority was the host and room (I was only staying one night) and third priority was price. Chloe's place was located very close to the meeting site and I was able to move around easily using the Metro. She helped me map out... More »
An enthusiastic "thumbs up," as they say. Very considerate, friendly, helpful, clean. It was not only great to save money on a hotel, but staying with a "real person" made the visit to D.C. more real. I'd recommend Miss Feinberg to anyone, especially young people. This really was an enjoyable experience for all, I believe.
I've known Chloe all my life. She is super smart, fascinating, funny, caring and always there to help. She really knows how to live life to the fullest and take advantage of her resources. I first heard of AirBnB through her and I'm surprised it wasn't her idea. She travels all over the world and you can tell by all of the cool decorations adorning her apartments. I've stayed at Chloe's place in D.C. many times and she always has the best suggestions of things to do. She knows where the... More »
Miles is a Family Member January 2012Chloe is an amazing friend and undoubtedly, the most friendly, knowledgeable world traveler I know. She knows how to make a person feel at home and experience a city like AMS, DC and NYC with aplomb. Since her interests include music, politics, culture, biking and hiking....she can give advice on almost any activity you may desire besides having a wonderful, cozy yet large place filled with books, art and music. On top of that she is a brilliant foodie - so knows all the great places to... More »
Mary is a FriendI worked with Chloe in DC and we became great friends. Then I moved to NYC and she moved to Amsterdam. I visited her recently and had the pleasure of staying in their fabulous apartment - it's so cute, comfortable and in a great location. The kitchen was perfect for cooking meals, the guest bedroom is big and has a balcony. I could walk almost everyone and Chloe was an excellent host. I can't wait to visit again!
Tricia is a FriendChloe is an awesome friend and host! I've known here for several years from our days galavanting around Washington, DC. She was one of the original hosts in DC back in those days and got me into the whole Airbnb biz, which I can't thank her enough for. She is sure to be a gracious host and is an amazing friend!
Jeremy is a FriendChloe is a very out-going, helpful and considerate person. She will help you out with any question you have and at the same time leave you enough space to do your own thing. If you stay at her place, you won't only get an insider's view of all the great bars, restaurants and shops in DC, but you'll also experience the upcoming neighborhood Columbia Heights that most visitors won't get to see. I can recommend her place and her hospitality to anybody who wants to have a great time in DC!
