Had a great week's stay - Abigail made us feel completely welcome and at home. Far more fun staying in a real home rather than a bland hotel! The apartment is v. central, five mins to the subway then a short distance to Union Square. Area great - shops near, and feels completely safe. Yes the traffic outside the flat can be loud - but we came armed with ear plugs and it didn't bother us. Definitely recommend, and would love to stay again. Thanks Abigail! Kate

I never actually met Abigail as she was away during my weekend stay. However, first of all she overnighted the keys to me, texted me repeatedly on my day of arrival to make sure everything was okay, and I arrived to find a spotless apartment with all the right things. The shower in the kitchen is Euro-cute and not an issue, as the fridge gives you privacy when you step out. The noisey bedroom is not an issue once you turn on the fan and pop in some earplugs. The only downside is that the kitchenware is a bit sparse (no saucepan, tea kettle or garlic press for example), but I am a wierd gluten-free foodie so it is probably less of an issue for others.

Abby made our experience in New York as comfortable as possible - she was a wonderful hostess. The only cons that I can think of is the traffic outside the bedroom window (the street outside is a main truck thoroughfare) and the shower was in the kitchen, but these are things that a pair of ear plugs and a conveniently placed fridge can counter. Everything was clean and comfortable. Thanks Abby!

spending our nights at abigails ap during our ny-trip was really good. the place is close to the city, has a safe neighbourhood and some options to have dinner or go out. especially the bedford avenue was really good and just two stations via subway apart.. abigail seemed to be really easy going. Actually we just met the last day, because she was on a short holiday trip, while we stayed there.. Our room was a bit loud (close to the street) but very clean and well decorated. A small contra: the shower is in the kitchen and there is no door to close.. So all together a very good place with a very nice host..

we spent a great time in New york staying a week at Abigail's place... We arrived in New York after 2 weeks in Tenessee and Louisiana, and the only thing which was hard for me was it was really hot in new York and Abigails hasn't got A.C... but after a few days I got used to it..The place is confortable, and abigail is really easy going, if you need anything she will do it, anyway New York is full of things to do so we didn't stay much in the room!! Pros : the situation, not far from Manhattan, safe place, big room, well decorated and clean, abigail's easy nature Cons : no A.C (if you come in summer), no curtains to hield the light in the morning, the traffic noise Overall, a good place to stay!!!

we enjoyed our stay at Abigails. She is super easy going, and its a beautiful place. We would love to stay there again if we are going back to NYC.

Abigail's a super-nice & gracious host, and she keeps the place very clean. She's very pleasant and easy to be around. As others have mentioned, there is a bit of road noise (it's the city, after all), but earplugs helped with that. I would stay there again.

Abigail's place is great as specially your room. Ok beside that street noise, but that's ok, cause it helps you to get up not so late in the morning. And now with the new oven ;-) you can have a great dinner in her nice apartment. What we loved most was the neighborhood packed with mostly young folks, nice bars (Legion) and a great italian restaurant. Ask Abigail for this!

I wish you a great trip to nyc..... jens

Abigail offers a perfect old world charm resting place that I found great to come home to after the end of the days explorations. She's a gracious hostess, a pleasant conversationalist and her flat is comfortable and tidy. Located less than a 5 minute walk to the "L" subway,a quick subway ride to Manhattan, easily accessible to JFK and two stops away from the lively Bedford Ave. Her neighborhood is vibrant and within short walking distance to many restaurants, bars, and grocers. Metropolitan Ave. is a bit utility truck noisy at night yet I slept right through it. I loved the uniqueness of the shower in the kitchen area. Abigail's is an ideal place for traveler's. I'd be happy to stay again. Thanks Abigail!

We loved the area and had a very comfortable stay with Abigail. Great, spacious room. We would definitely stay again.

A very nice room, extremely comfortable and in a friendly laid back neighbourhood. The subway is a short walk away and a slightly longer walk takes you to some excellent Brooklyn bars and thrift stores. Abigail is a lovely host, very friendly and welcoming. The road outside is rather noisy but a set of earplugs solves that problem very easily. Highly recommended.

Room was spacious and very accommodating. Could use a chair. Abigail even went and got us a fan when the one there didn't work. A little noisy at night because of the busy street traffic, but the fan helped drown that out. You couldn't find a nicer hostess if you looked forever.

I had a great time. The apartment was very close to Manhattan. Abigail ws very easy going and we hung out a couple of nights. The room was really nice and a very comfortable bed. I would stay there again.

If you're looking for a cool place to stay and planning to spend most of the day out in the city (come on, it's New York!) this is a perfect find. Abigail's place is a value for money choice and the room is really big, well decorated and comfortable. Pros: Size of room, Abigail's friendly, easy-going nature, distance to subway station (5 mins walk) Cons: The tiny shower in the kitchen, noisy traffic at night Overall: A pleasurable, excellent value stay!

The room is large and clean and has a lot of character. The bedclothes were of good quality, the bed was on the firm side, which I like. Abigail herself is extremely friendly and easygoing. She made the stay very pleasant. The price is very reasonable for the size of the room, and the atmosphere.

First of all, Abigail is very gracious, easy going and delightful. She would make a wonderful hostess. Secondly, the location of her apartment is fantastic. It's in a funky part of Williamsburg, so close to bars, restaurants, galleries and produce markets. The room is huge, with high ceilings and very clean. I think it's a good deal for the price. I can definitely recommend staying here because I've known Abigail for many years and have even lived with her in this apartment.
