I'm a South African who lived for many years in England and returned to South Africa in 1993. I am the home maker, architect and gardener of the property. I am also a teacher and therapist. Peter, my English husband, runs seminars on sustainability leadership for senior business people in Southern Africa. Peter is fluent in French, and I am fairly fluent in Afrikaans; we are both learning isiXhosa. We live with a very smart, friendly little dog named Mr. D’Arcy.

The accommodations were terrific and Diane and Peter could not have been more helpful and friendly. For anyone who is wondering whether staying outside of the city near Simon's Town is worth, I would highly recommend it. Their place is within a short walk to the penguins at Boulder Beach, near an excellent little swimming beach, a quick drive to the cape and the wildlife reserve, and it's really a very pleasant and easy drive into the city as well, on excellent roads. Before I traveled to Cape Town I had no Idea where to stay and I didn't want to stay in hotel surrounded by noise and people. So I found on this site the apartment of Diane and Peter and was amazed from the pictures! And I can promise it was even better than that. I personally can’t stop raving about the few days we spent at your beautiful self-catering apartment last year. It's so comfortable (love the huge bed! and the clever seat in the shower), the kitchen had everything we needed, and we appreciated the lovely pool, and the beaches nearby (I fell in love with the penguins), but it was the views from the house that captivated me, and although I was reading an extremely interesting book on S.
