    Hey, I'm Brian!

    Member Since October 2011

Single male American in Seattle, WA. World traveler and always wanting to explore new places. My favorite travel destinations so far are:

    1. India - without a doubt, the more amazing place I've seen in my life: the people, the religions mixed together, the food, the history, it's a wonder that everything just "seems to work" there.
    2. Vietnam - coming from American perspective, this place has great history for me. The people are genuinely wonderful and friendly, not to mention the great food. Hanoi and the north seemed to be more enjoyable than elsewhere.
    3. South America - on separate trips, I've visited Peru and Argentina. In Peru, I trekked the Inca Trail, which was a hike of a lifetime. Argentina was full of history, great wine and steak, and beautiful people.
    4. Europe - I've been to Europe quite a few times, to the north, south, east, and west. I'll always go back, of course, yet there is so much more to the world to see. Favorite places here - Scotland and Tallin.
    5. Hong Kong - like New York, yet full of South Chinese folks and British bankers. Hugely vibrant urban thriving city.
    6. Singapore - So clean, you can almost literally eat off the streets, and I certainly ate from some of the numerous delicious hawker stands.
    7. Malaysia - I didn't spend too much time here, yet I loved the people and the mix of Malay, Chinese, and Indian cultures (and food!).
    8. U.S. and Canada - I've visited all wonderful 50 U.S. states and 5 Canadian provinces. What can I say, North America is the land of my birth and I'll always have a special place in my heart for "home".

I'm a geek tech nerd kinda guy who is keenly interested in global politics and economics. I can have an intelligent conversation with anyone about nearly any country's politics or economics. I read books on economics, history, and Sci-Fi - and I have a pull box at the local comic book shop.

I enjoy good food, Italian, Mexican, Asian (Thai, sushi, Indian, Vietnamese, Chinese), and of course good ol' Americano. I am a definitive omnivore. For drinks, I'm a beer/wine kinda guy - especially Northwest microbrews and bold red wines.
