Beautiful space, very resposive and gracious host. Would recommend and would stay again!
December 2011The host canceled my reservation 77 days before arrival.
Teially is a very good host. During our stay she was always very helpful whenever we had a question. The apartment itself was a bit old, and the bedrooms were located towards the street, so by night there was quite some noise. While we were visiting Teially sold the house, and was about to move to newer place, so rather than saying more about this specific apartment we will recommend Teially as a host. She is always positive and helpful!
Nice quiet area. Apt was nice and comfortable. We were originally just going to be two, however, my cousin wanted to tag along, then his sister also decided to come at the last minute. Teia was so accommodating and wonderful. This lil apartment is a "home away from home". I did miss having regular scheduled tv, but then again, I got to spend 10 days of quality time with my loved ones. I'll be back soon ;)
This apartment is great! Very spacious and very clean. The beds were very comfortable and so was the futon in the living room. The kitchen was perfect-we made breakfast every morning and there are several delis on the block where we bought food at. A couple short blocks to the subway and close to everything. Very quiet by New York standards. We slept well every night. The owners are very helpful and available at all times. Great place! I look forward to staying here again!
Great place to stay in NYC. Easy parking, lots of room, good location.
After staying 6 nights in this lovely apartment we can only highly recommend it. Teially and Allison were lovely hosts, very nice and helpful and the apartment is very spacious and light with a little garden outside the windows towards the courtyard. After long nights and days in the city this is the ultimate place to recover and you would hardly find anything similar for this price in the city. The apartment is located a short walking distance to a subway station where you can easily take... More »
Clean and comfortable. Tia was friendly and helpful. Good stay and good value.
great host; the area has nice delis and the appartment is good for being on your own while sharing the house... everything that is not perfect can be sorted out in communication. it is what you want, if you are not going for the lofty Manhattan candy world thing.
Beautiful, basic, clean space in Bed-Stuy. We liked that the place was sprayed for bedbugs.Teia & Ally were wonderful hosts. They needed to fix the sink from a previous guest's stay and they were considerate as to when they would do it. Super-friendly. Good area, though the first night we stayed the neighbors were a bit loud past midnight. That's no reflection on the place itself or Tea & Ally, just something to be aware of. Otherwise the area is pretty quiet. Neighbors seem very... More »
Apartment was roomy, clean and easy to find. Close to subway and convenience stores nearby. Host was friendly, responsive and communicated well.
Hi, we had a great stay in NY.Teially is a very helpful and great person. She helped us a lot, especially with our lost baggage. Thanks a lot Teially! We really loved to stay in your apt. The neighbourhood is friendly, the nearby deli sells all things you need and the connection downtown is close by. We just loved the place!
Very nice appartment, I would recommend it!
Teially is a great host providing excellent communication prior and during the stay. The apartment is fairly nice and as described, it offers a really good value for money option in New York if you don't mind staying outside Manhattan (it is fairly easy to get to via the subway.) The neighbourhood is friendly but fairly noisey. Thanks for helping make my stay in NYC so fantastic!
This was a beautiful self contained apartment in a grand terrace in Brooklyn. The place was absolutely spotless and the four poster, large fireplace and wooden floorboards were actually nicer than the pictures suggest. There was advice about taking the main, lit routes. I really enjoyed seeing Brooklyn from the ground up and getting into town was relatively quick. Teially was friendly and didn't mind too much my late arrival.
We are three friends and we slept in this house only two nights but we found ourselves very well for the location (near Subway) and for the hospitality. the house is as you can see in the pictures, there was everything you could need, and you can also cook. The only small negative note is that the neighborhood is a bit noisy, but still cute. definitely a home to return in the future! Thanks!
A reasonable place to stay if you want to be in Brooklyn. (We did.) Not a lot of sights/sites of interest within walking distance but, again, if you like the idea of walking neighborhoods to see how "the other half" lives this is good. Seniors!!! Spend the time to go to MTA headquarters to get reduced fare cards (free) and you'll have at least half price fares.
Teia was a fantastic host. She worked with us when we needed to check in late, allowed us to add a guest without issue and came to see if we needed anything a couple of times. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.
Very interesting neighborhood, good advice for walking around! Hospitality and good feeling! (-: Thank's
Teially is very nice and kind, we only saw her one time but she was lovely. Its not a place to party a lot cause there are other guests. A policeman told us it was not that safe in the neighborhood, but we didnt ave a bad experience, when we did the shopping we took alwys a taxi cab because of the policeman comment. Its clean and the beds were nice.
My fiancee and I rented this apartment for our wedding elopement in NYC for a few days. The apartment is lovely. Extremely clean, nice small kitchen for making breakfast (even dinner). If I needed anything during our stay Teia and Ally were very attentive to our needs. We also loved that the Inn is Eco-Friendly and discourages waste. People in the neighborhood were very friendly (a rare find in NYC), there was also a nice clean bodega at the corner. Trains close by and Manhattan... More »
We rented the one bedroom apartment and the 2 bedroom apartment for our party of 5. We all agreed it was much better than staying in a hotel and loved the hipster charm of the building and Bedford Stuyvesant neighbourhood. ROKU box was a great plus too. Truly wonderful restaurants near by: Saraghina and Peaches. Short walk to C or J subway lines (J line is elevated and has great views of Manhattan as you cross the river). Hurricane Irene payed us a visit too during our stay and... More »
Lovely large apartment with lots of original features and a huge amount of hipster charm. ROKU box was a great plus too. Truly wonderful restaurants near by: Saraghina and Peaches. Short walk to C or J subway lines (J line is elevated and has great views of Manhattan as you cross the river). Hurricane Irene payed us a visit too during our stay and Ally was a star - taped up windows, provided water, candles and some board games. The bed was very comfortable. The 2 sofa's are bed... More »
It is an old appartment on the second floor and it didn´t look like the the photos that Teia showed on the web. The washbasin was not working, it was completely blocked. There was also a leak from the bath to the first floor. The guest from the first floor came to complain to us and looking for Teia. I think because he couldn´t find her, he got very angry and left the all the appartment doors wide open when we were not there during the whole day. The kitchen wasn´t very clean either, we... More »
This was a great place to stay, large and clean. It's very close to the metro and met our needs. Hosts were pleasant, helpful, and available when we needed something. We will most likely stay here again.
teia and ally were FAB hosts- they couldn't do enough to help us-even bought us t shirts to wear as are luggage was delayed- thanks for those phone calls to track it down!!! They showed us where the train station was and all the places to eat in the heighbourhood. We enjoyed sitting on the stoop watching the world go by and getting the feel for Bed Stuy, which is a fascinating area populated by an established African American community-if this is not what you are looking for go somewhere... It was a little further out than anticipated, however, once getting there it was nice and easy. We had no problems with the apartment or Teially. The apartment was suitable for our needs and was clean and ready to go. I did not meet Teially as my friends that I stayed with arrived first, but they said she was nice and helpful. Some people might be a little put off by the neighbourhood, but no complaints here.
I had a great stay in Brooklyn at the Decatur Street Inn. Teially and Ally were great hosts, and always available when we needed help with anything.
Was Great. Couldnt have done more to help, extra pillows, fans etc.
The organisation was perfect, Teially answered quickly to our questions, also did airbnb. The rooms are very run-down, so it was not possible to clean all the things in an agreeable way. The windows faces the street so it is very noisy at night. The distance to the metro station is short and we did not feel afraid while walking in this area.
Very pleasant neighborhood where every body is pleased to help you like the host ! The apartment is luminous and spaces bigger than they appear in the photos. During you stay the heat was particularly intense but that was not a probleme and Teially gives us an air conditionning to have great nights ! I hope we could stay here once again in the futur !
Ally is a very nice host. The place is clean and quiet. I used the apartment for some visiting family members and they told me it was quiet at night and they slept peacefully. The neighborhood wasn't that appealing to me, but we were basically using the apartment as a place to sleep after sightseeing all day. Subway stop is about 5 blocks away.
We truly had a lovely stay at Teia and Allys'. They are hospital, helpful and such wonderful hosts! The apartment is only a block from the Metro and its quick to go to Manhattan, more or less 25 minutes. The neighborhood is wonderful, in a way that really enhanced our overall experience of New York City. There is such a lovely atmosphere of togetherness in this part of Brooklyn, something we would never had experienced if living elsewhere. The people in the neighborhood are very friendly... More »
My wife and I travelled half way from Boston to NYC on the day we had booked before we were informed that we would not be able to check-in that day. We even emailed ahead the day before and the booking was re-confirmed. We wasted an entire day plus gas and tolls. We've received no apology and no explanation. Very disappointed.
Staying at the Decatur Street Inn has been wonderful: the apartment is very clean, airy and the neighborough is quiet and warm, though at the beginning we felt dazed from that. But this first feeling has gone away soon. Teia and Ally were simply kind and always available. The apt is very close to the subway Utica Av. station (A Train) and so very practical to Manhattan. The one thing to fix in our opinion is the shower, rather awkward. We definitely recommend the Decatur Street Inn!
Nice apartment in a excellent location. Have all you can need to stay for some days. Great place to stay, at a very good price, I would definitely come back!
Charming place! The pictures are very accurate. Having street parking was awesome. The only drawback was the very awkward shower.
Great experience, Ally and teia were terrific hosts, very helpfull and kind. Nice big apartment, nice neighbourhood, everything great.
We enjoyed our stay! The app is very clean, bright and warm. Five stars lack came from a bit clumzy shower...The neighbourhood is quite safe, even thou it doesnt seems like it at the begining :) Teially is great host, helpful and gives you all the privacy. Would recomend it def! Anita, Slovenia
Very clean and comfortable. Much quieter than staying in Manhatten. A short walk to the subway, and a nice little deli/grocery right on the corner. We would definately return.
The house is nice and clean. Teially got various of shampoo, lotion for guests to use. My favorite part is they are so GREEN! Instruction of recycling is clearly indicated. A neat coffee shop (Liquid Oz) nearby the house has the best latte and bagel!
Hi, Teially 's place was absolutely wonderful. The kids, my husband and I loved it very much. Teially was very approachable and eager to help us, they were leaflets and maps. The house was spacious and very clean. The kitchen was well equipped and we were free to use whatever we wanted. The bathroom was good too. the beds were all comfortable. the place is near buses and subway. Will definitely come back on my next stop to NY. Thanks you Teially.
Very nice host! Clean apartment. Many parking places. Thanks a lot!
A very nice, clean, spacious and comfortable apartment, conveniently close to the subway. All as described, well heated, with wifi, fine kitchen, movies on TV. Thank you Teially!
We were made very welcome by Ally who was also very helpful in finding out all sorts of information and attraction, also very good local information. We found everyone very helpful and friendly. The apartment was very warm, very comfy a little dated but with great character. The kitchen equipment quite basic but adequate. Rooms very spacious, beds very comfy, very clean and pleasant, roc tv which gave us big choice of tv programmes and films to watch. We were even allowed to stay longer in... More »
Best friend and I stayed in February and we our time at the DSI was beyond our expectations. Teia and Ally made the check in process so easy and the apartment was exactly as shown. It was very cold that weekend and the heater worked very well. We were able to find street parking and there is a bodega right across the street. We enjoyed our time there and would stay again. Thanks!
Our stay with Teia & Ally was wonderful. We actually stayed in the 2 bedroom, as a week before we arrived Teia email us asking if we wanted to upgrade to the two bedroom free of charge. The apartment was lovely. We enjoyed the spare and hip, but eclectic furnishings. It was hip and comfortable without being stuffy. Ally greeted us when we arrived, she was sweet and helpful. The house is an old historical Brownstone I've lived in NY before, so I was familiar with the neighborhood. ... More »
We really enjoyed our stay in Decatur street appartment. Ally was a very friendly host. We'll definitely come back.
Room was extremely spacious, well heated with a fully equipped kitchen. Transportation was convenient- Utica Subway ( A Line) is a mere 10 -15 mins walk from Teially's. Grocery shopping is not an issue as there are many mom and pop grocery stores around. Fulton Supermarket is just outside Utica Subway- an extremely convenient stop to stock up after coming back from Manhattan. Oh... Teially makes nice quiche =)
Teia was a brilliant host and we really enjoyed our stay. The apartment was really clean and she had included a list of recommended local restaurants and useful telephone numbers. We had a couple of difficulties while we were there but Teia was fantastic and came to sort things out straight away. Other than when we contacted her she gave us complete privacy throughout our stay and we would definitely visit again.
Our stay in this historic 1899 brownstone, located in the Bedford-Stuyvesant community of Brooklyn, was adventurous and fun. The two bedroom apt. was clean and comfortable and just as presented and described. The Fulton St. Metro access Teia recommended was only a short walk (about six blocks) away. She also gave helpful tips on local dining. We ate at Sanghini's and the authentic Italian pizza was amazing. We were only there for 2 nights, with only one full day to explore, but we loved... We had a great time staying at Teially! Teia and Ally were both great and very helpful and super sweet! The apartment is clean and very nice, just as advised. I will definitely come back!
Just myself and my wife stayed - but we also had family staying in the upstairs apt. at the same time. Lots of room and high ceilings in an interesting brownstone house. Comfy bed (there is room for more people in this apt. on futon and let-down). Very clean. Full kitchen - although no table to eat at (didn't matter to us). Might have been good to have a few basics on day of arrival (maybe bagels, milk etc?) since we were out of town and didn't know the area/shops (and it was raining... More »
We enjoyed out pleasant "home away from home" in a lovely old building. Parking was not a problem, and the hosts were delightful! No TV or radio was ok for us, but could be a shock to others. Great value for Breooklyn!
We had a wonderful time at Teially. Teia was warm and inviting, and very helpful in telling us how to get around and where we should eat in Brooklyn. The apartment was clean and comfy... and the neighborhood was very rich with culture. Whenever we look to come back to visit NY, we will be sure to stay here.
The apartment is beautiful, clean, there is plenty of hot water. Its exactly as advertised. The subway is really close and its only a 35min journey into Manhattan. Teia and Ally were both great and very helpful. I had a great stay and would definitely come back!
Tei and Ally were very kind. When we arrived, Ally gave us some directions about how to arrive to some places and they were very helpful. The apartment was exactly as it appears in the photos. We enjoyed our week in NYC and I recommend staying in their apartment. Thank you very much for everything. Happy New Year!!
A fine, if basic, place to stay in an area of NY that I would otherwise have not been too. A friendly welcome with info on local transport and eating. The apartment is a 'work in progress' perhaps. Maybe a little clock radio and a bathmat would be a useful addition, but these are minor things. I would go back.
Teia and Ally were both great and very helpful. The apartment is beautiful and clean, and conveniently close to the subway for easy travel to Manhattan. We'll definitely stay here again...
This is a great basic apartment, and a good alternative to staying in Manhattan which can be very pricey. The apartment is basic, but beautiful and we had everything we needed while we were there. We walked down to a corner store and bought some breakfast items for in the morning which eliminated the need to eat out for those meals. T was responsive and polite, even available by text. She recommended some great food upon our arrival. It did get a little noisy on the first night (keep in mind... More »

Staying at Teias place was great. Nice and safe area. Hope we can stay again.
Teially was very kind and gracious. The apartment was clean and very comfortable.
Good but basic apartment, could have done with a small dining table to go with the 2 chairs. Kitchen adequate, bathroom small but clean, shower curtain could be shorter (kept standing on it). Plenty of hot water and apartment warm enough, linens and bed clean and serviceable. The street was noisy at times but didn't stop us sleeping. We didn't feel threatened walking in the area and found the locals we met pleasant and polite. The apartment was good value for our time in New York the subway... More »
Teially was quick to respond to our reservation request and was available by text during our stay which was great, but the property itself leaves a bit to be desired. First and foremost the neighborhood, it is EXTREMELY noisy at night and in the early mornings which makes it impossible to sleep comfortably, definatley bring earplugs. The subway stops require walking through areas that have questionable safety. We took the subway into Manhattan during the day but after the 1st day took a cab... More »
Teia was great ! She helped us with a car key problem and we shared a great conversation. The charming old flat is big enough for 5. Bathroom could really have been cleaner, but except from that, everything was great. Thanks again for your help and good luck in your projects.
Even though my stay was a last minute thing Teially was inviting and open to any questions I had during my brief time there!
Friendly and receptive. A perfect host.
Very nice place...very quiet, nice connection to city... Very nice communication with Teially... Thank you...
We stayed four people at Teias place - and it was perfect! We were very happy and satisfied with the apartment. Teia was very helpful and we would definitely stay there again! Thank you so much.
The apartment was exactly as advertised and Teially, Allison and Christine were all so helpful and accommodating. Street parking is plentiful, the beds are comfy, loads of hot water, the price is right, great restaurants nearby (especially Saraghina) and it's an easy commute to the city. What more could you want?!?! I'll go back again! Thanks for the great hospitality.
This century old apartment is located 2 blocks from the Ralph subway, line C. It was very usefull. The neighbourhood is OK. It become very lively around 10pm: music, BBQ, children playing,... It was fun to watch. On saturday, we were greated with a breakfast around 10am (juice, omelett, sausages, patatoes) that was very much appreciated. We were 3 girls, and the 3 beds in the 3 differents rooms were a blessing. We were greated by Teia upon arrival who gave us the key and than we had complete... More »
Teially was great and really just wonderful to accommodate us under some difficult circumstances. We needed a last minute room and we were trying to book using a cell phone which was less than desirable. The building we stayed in was absolutely fantastic. An older row house that was kept as close to original as possible. There was so much space and it was kept cool even for a late-summer night. We actually spent a lot of our time admiring the original door knobs and windows. Even the... More »
Tia was very promopt in returning calls/messages, so planning went well. She met us with the keys and was very friendly/helpful. The apartment was clean and had everything we needed. It was quiet and comfortable for a private space from the busy city and a good night's sleep.
Teially made the whole process of staying in NYC easy. She went out of her way to provide us with information on local restaurants and places to hang in the area. This was my first time using Airbnb and thanks to Teially won't be my last.
We had a nice time in Brooklyn. The appartment was as clean as well. Allison and Teia were very kind and helpfull. It is a charming area, and the 24-7 shops are very useful. Would stay again.
Apartment was clean and spacious, Tieally was efficient, everything worked out like it was supposed to! Very commendable BnB!
Teia and Ally were nice, they gave us keys upon arrival and were very helpful in helping us figure out the subway. The apartment was clean as well. If you drive, just know the rules to parking on the streets. Parking within 6 feet from a fire hydrant is a 115 dollar fine.
Pretty cool place, clean and comfortable, Up and coming area. Good experience. Would stay again.
I stayed at Teia's with my boyfriend and had absolutely no complaints. Teia was more than welcoming. The apartment was in excellent condition, down tot he decor and amazing Brooklyn atmosphere that is hard to find nowadays. We had absolute privacy during our entire stay and will definitely be coming back and highly recommend a stay at Teia's.
Teia and Ally were both very friendly, accommodating and accessible hosts. Upon arrival we were greeted by Teia and given our keys along with a short list of nearby restaurants and activities (I’d highly recommend Saraghina--nice, low key atmosphere and great pizza!) Their location was ideal for exploring Brooklyn. The neighborhood is very charming albeit a bit lively...but we didn’t mind at all, and besides, it was July 4th weekend! To say the least, it was an all-around enjoyable,... More »

Teia and Ally were wonderful hosts! They both were very friendly and kind and happy to help in anyway to make our stay comfortable. Also the breakfast they made us on Saturday was delicious. :) I would not hesitate to stay with them again if I go back to New York. Thank you both again!
Teia and Ally are two wonderful, creative and loyal people I ever meet. The Space that they have created is Clean, Comfortable and Relaxing.. A home away from Home. I will highly Recommend this space to someone needing a Place to relax the day of traveling away..
