Funny, politically astute, progressive pragmatist.

Arts and culture,(as in Music,as in Jazz) reign supreme at JazzVille.

Work in the Sustainable Foods Movement. I love to cook and when I'm not doing that I write, teach and think about Food. (I've been called 'Totally Food-Centric," more than once.)

People who know me tell me I'm a very capable household manager, which is probably why hosting for AB& B feels natural for me.

Besides cooking and food/ farm interests, visual arts and music, I'm a licensed builder. World travel has influenced me and my interests in both of these pursuits are immediately apparent to anyone coming to stay at JazzVille.

I try to provide a somewhat unique and comfortable oasis for visitors looking to navigate their own journey through Boston and Cambridge.

The location of the house is perfect for travelling around Cambridge and Boston. You have good connections to the bus and subway. The house itself is a little bit vintage mixed with a modern style, but it fits perfectly. The room is white/blue and very comfortable. Joan is the really friendly and caretaking "Mom" of the house - she is helpfull in any case. To spend a while with Joan and her delicious breakfast is priceless and precious. Perfect stay... just too short! Joan is a warm and generous host, the room was just exactly as it looked on the photo and the location is very convenient. Fresh eggs from the farmer's maket for breakfast not to be missed.

My husband and I had a wonderful stay at JazzVille. The room was clean, beautifully decorated, and inviting, with many Boston-related guidebooks and magazines to browse through, and Joan was a wonderful hostess - very knowledgeable about the area, with great dining recommendations, and we had a great time having a long talk with her over breakfast. Had a great stay with Joan at Jazzville while we were in town for the Boston Marathon. She was a warm and gracious host to us. Fantastic location, close to the red line of the T subway. Delicious breakfasts and she was very helpful giving us tips on what sights to see and the best ways to get around town. Thanks Joan for a great stay!
