  Wow! What a great rest stop on my journey. The queen size bed was more comfortable than my bed at home. The house is on a beautiful tree lined street that's very quiet. The people at the house were friendly and enjoyable to chat with. And the patio is really great. There's a Sequoia at there that's like nothing I've ever seen before. I look forward to staying there again.

  I had a great stay with John. He was very personable and considerate and he offered lots of help on getting around portland. I had a lot of space in my downstairs room as well as the use of the common room plus a shared bathroom, which as the only guest i had to myself. It was all very comfortable and private. I would book with him again on my next trip.

  I stayed in the larger bedroom downstairs which has a share bath, but since there was no other occupant downstairs, I had it to myself. Lovely large room with a TV, video player, very comfortable bed and a dinning room table to spread out on. Quiet and comfortable and John offers the use of the kitchen and fridge. Great deal!

  John Johnson is a friendly host. He will try to give you what you need to be comfortable. The rooms are smallish, but are adequate for one or two people. John shares his kitchen, deck and laundry facilities with his guests. The deck has stairs near the table which can be dangerous if you don't stay vigilant that they are there.   Stayed in the basement room, wow, super conductive to sleeping, dark and very quiet. Close to Mount Tabor park which is great for hill running. While a bit "off the path" still easy to reach lots of the SE neighborhoods especially along Division and Powell. Bathroom is clean and very private.

  John was a very nice host and was very welcoming to his home. The room we stayed in was in the basement and it was very quiet.

  Tranquil place near Mt Tabor Park. The host was not there during my stay but we spoke on the phone and he was prompt in his response. The bed was comfortable . A nice back patio to sit and read.

  The location was great - between Powell and Division. I enjoyed the chance to walk in the park at Mount Tabor (less than six blocks from the house).
