Burnham Beach Hse Retreat

I only stayed there for one night, but Wendy was very welcoming and the room is exactly what I was looking for. I would definitely stay there again when back in the area!

Very happy with my stay with Mike and Wendy. Cosy house, very well kept and close to the beach. Mike&Wendy were always there to help out with reccomending sites to see and transport methods.

Wendy and Mike's place was great. It was really easy to get to by bus (just one free shuttle to the city bus terminal and one bus straight down PCH). Also it is in a really great location, close to the beach and walking distance or a short bike ride to a lot of amazing food places. The room and bathroom were really amazing and the atmosphere really relaxing. Wendy and Mike were also really great hosts and always willing to answer any questions I had. Also don't forget to take one of the bikes out for a ride along the beach, it is amazing! I would highly recommend staying here.

We checked into Mike and Wendy's home a little before 7, as we had a busy day! We were welcomed and shown around so that we knew what to expect......We settled in and decided to enjoy dinner and drinks on the pier, which is just a short walk away.....Probably a much livelier atmosphere in the summer, but we needed a quiet, simple night together. We slept comfortably and were able to surf the internet to find our next destination no problem! It would have been nice to enjoy the outside back seating area, but it was simply too chilly to be sitting outside, otherwise seemed very inviting.... The one concern was the bathroom situation....the bedroom was upstairs and the bathroom clear downstairs from our room, and right next to the kitchen....didn't make for a lot of privacy when occupying the bathroom, but other than that, we enjoyed the charm of the home and Mike and Wendy were wonderful hosts!

I had a wonderful stay with Mike and Wendy at the Burnham Beach House Retreat. I was fortunate to stay three weeks in their beautiful home. The room and bed I stayed in were very comfortable, and what an amazing location they have - a block from the beach. I was able to relax, feel at home and thoroughly enjoy my vacation thanks to the comfort of their place and their great hospitality. Wendy and Mike are lovely, kind and very accommodating hosts. It doesn't get any better than that!

The Beach Cottages (we stayed in both) were so charming and well-appointed, my boyfriend and I wanted to move in. Wendy and Mike were also the best hosts you could ask for. It's a fantastic value in a great location and we will be coming back as much as we can.

Wendy and Mike were fabulous hosts! We really enjoyed staying with them for our first Cali visit and seeing all the area had to offer. The cottage is charming and adorable (I wish I could transplant it to the East Coast!). We loved the fire pit access as well. Overall a great little spot! Would definitely stay here again.

Our stay at the beach cottage was perfect. The cottage is cozy, charming, comfortable, and our host was welcoming and warm. We had everything we needed for a peaceful retreat. The fresh flowers at every turn were appreciated, coming from the east coast winter!

Wendy was out of town when we stayed there, but even over the phone she was very friendly. Mike was a lovely host, who made us feel welcome at every turn. And the cottage was beautiful! I hope we can stay there again

My family spent a week at the Burnham cottage in March 2012, and had a wonderful time! The cottage is on a historic homestead in Redondo Beach, and has been restored without giving up any of the charm. The neighborhood was perfect for us - walking distance to drugstore and restaurants, but located on a quiet street. We fell into the slow pace of this little beach town. Michael is a great host - ready with a little help when we had questions, but leaves us alone to enjoy our privacy in our own little cottage. I recommend this place to anyone who wants to live the 'beach town' life.

What a lovely cottage for a vacation, it was so cozy and inviting, we loved it! The bed is super comfy and the kitchen is well stocked. It is really close to the beach and whole foods. We will definitely stay here again when we are visiting our relatives in the south bay. Thanks Mike and Wendy!

It's a great experience to stay for a night on the Pacific coast at Mike&Wendy's. Although we booked the cottage in the hurry and arrived quite late in the night, we were awaited and welcomed with a great smile and friendly attitude. The beach is really a 2 minutes walk from the house and CJ's (a few blocks away) offers great breakfast and french toast (thanks Mike for the advice). The next morning Wendy helped us to define the next stops of our road trip and to choose the best route and things to see.

Thanks Wendy and Mike for giving us the opportunity to stay in your cozy beach cottage, we loved every minute. The thought you have put into the decor really enhances the beachside ambience. The area is fantastic with the beach, pier, and eclectic street shopping area close by, as well as the 21 mile bike path to Santa Monica - a must to cycle when in LA (it really is not too far, if you allow a whole day with lots of stops, it gives you a real feel for the area.) The whole Airb'n'b experience at the Burnham Beach Cottage was first class, from the moment we were met by the friendly Charlotte until we were farwelled by Wendy and Mike at the end of our stay we felt truly welcomed. Mike and Wendy are close personal friends of mine and they are honestly two of the coolest, fun loving people I know. Location is amazing...Redondo Beach is, in my opinion, the nicest places in city in Los Angeles County.

Mike & Wendy are the best hosts you could hope for. They truely care for their guests and want you to be comfortable and have a good time. They are both so much fun! the home is in the best location possible, just a block away from the beach, great for biking on the strand , surfing or a stroll. Safe lovely environment! Mike is a fabulous chef & Wendy's decorating and gardening will make you want to move in permanently. I would highly recommend this beautiful home to friends and business acquaintences
