A tree house, a free house,
A secret you and me house,
A high up in the leafy branches
Cozy as can be house.

A street house, a neat house,
Be sure and wipe your feet house
Is not my kind of house at all-
Let's go live in a tree house.

-Shel Silverstein

This is the best of both worlds... Perched above it all in a quiet, urban forested canyon with a 20 minute drive to glorious San Francisco. 7 minutes to BART or CalTrain at Millbrea station. 10 minutes from SFO. Walk to the beautiful Mills Canyon loop trail. Bikes available for loan to ride along the Crystal Springs Reservoir or the Bay. Street parking directly below the Treehouse.

Come nest in our Treehouse, privately situated in a stately Coast Live Oak. Get in touch with your "inner child", your "inner primate"!

Suitable for candle-light dinners. Equipped with cable TV and essential DVD movie collection. French doors and stained glass. Rocking chair on tree house deck with view of SF Bay. WiFi, lighting and electricity to charge your smartphone. Fluffy duvets/pillows and passive, eco-friendly heating to keep you warm and toasty. This is a four season accommodation.

Sleeps 1 on raised lower level bed, 2-3 in queen-size sleeping loft above. Serenity for 1, ideal for 2 or 3 and sleeps 4 if you reeeeally like each other! Private access to adjacent indoor bath, shower & kitchenette in lower level of family log cabin home.

Secluded, wooded property on cul-de-sac street. Family organic vegetable/herb garden, greenhouse and chicken coop in backyard. Would love to share this with you during your visit. Continental breakfast with fruits, breads, coffee/tea and fresh organic hard-boiled eggs!

Must be able to love lovable brown dog named Layla. Please read fee and minimum stay details under "House Rules" section.

Safe travels.

  • A magical place and delightful hosts! We'll definitely stay here again.

  • Loved our stay at the treehouse. Perfect way to end our honeymoon in San Francisco. Very peaceful and comfortable, added to all the wonderful memories of our trip. Linda is gracious, kind, and easy-going. Enjoyed meeting and interacting with her, a pleasure for sure.

  • One of the most unique experiences I've ever had and LOVED it. There is nothing more peaceful than waking up in the branches and can look out and see the Bay. I treated my mom to a Mother's Day over-night, just the two of us, and we could not have been happier with everything. I'm so grateful for Doug and Linda who have built this amazing place and open it up to travelers. THANK YOU!!!!

  • Truly one of the most unique experiences ever! Not only is the tree house totally amazing, Linda was very hospitable and made us feel welcomed. I'm definitely going to recommend the tree house to all my friends :)

  • Wow! 10 stars! Go spend a night in this tree house! The tree house, and or host, was above and beyond. We had a great time and appreciate the great vibes all around! Thank you for having us. A real pleasure.

  • Wow, what can we say... Incredible! Over the course of our two week trip we stayed in 6 AirBnB places, many of which were fantastic and '5 stars'. But there's something magical about the treehouse that marks it out from the rest. It was the first time over our trip that I felt truly relaxed. It's like something from a film and doesn't feel quite real. I don't want to go into details as the surprise of just how good it is is half the pleasure. Mackenzie (Doug and Linda's daughter) was an awesome host too - she made us feel so welcome and provided lots of helpful info. We loved it and would recommend it (indeed we have been - you may be about to meet lots of Londoners!) over anywhere we've been in America. Thank you!

  • Doug and Linda were warm, relaxed, and gracious hosts. They had everything ready for us when we arrived and gave us a great recommendation for dinner. It was the perfect experience in my book. Doug and Linda truly care about the experience you have as a guest in their tree house and it shows through in their attention to detail and welcoming personalities.

  • We chose to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary with a night in the treehouse. We thoroughly enjoyed every minute in and around it,...and the super moon couldn't have looked more spectacular than from the mini deck. After a dark and silent night, we woke to silhouettes of eucalyptus along the ridge and an amazingly clear view of the surf. We sequestered ourselves, but Doug, Linda, Makenzie, and Layla were lovely hosts.

  • Doug greeted us and allowed us to use the bicycles to cruise around the neighborhood. The treehouse is everything pictured here and more. It truly feels like a home with all the little touches of comfort. Very hospitable host and surroundings. A wonderful space to escape it all. Expect an adventure and to feel like a kid again. Take the hiking trails for some exercise. Bring a backpack to the city and grab dinner/wine back to the tree to eat/drink and watch videos.

The Treehouse is a unique getaway just outside the city. I felt at home and relaxed. I was grateful that Doug and Linda were so accomodating of my schedule and they welcome a guest with generous hospitality. Breakfast was a delight with farm fresh eggs to boot. I would love to stay every time I get the chance to visit the area. Thank you again Doug and Linda!
