Can't say enough about this place! Short walk to the beach, and to several cool cafes/eateries. Very Clean and comfortable. Made our stay in Santa Cruz that much more enjoyable.! Great host, easy to work with! Basically loved everything about this place and would stay again if ever in Santa Cruz.

Great location - less than a 10 min walk to the beach. Room was immaculate and clean. Exactly how it is pictured.

We had a very lovely stay for our first Airbnb stay. Kerstin's cottage is a picture-perfect artist cottage: Quiet, clean, and beautifully decorated. The bed is very comfortable and cozy. I woke in the early morning to hear distant sea lions in the yacht harbor. We didn't meet Kerstin, but left quick notes back and forth. This worked well for us since we were away (except for nights), and very busy with an event on the UC Santa Cruz campus.

Everything at Kerstin's place was as pictured, and perfect. Clean and comfortable room and bathroom, and access to kitchen. Because of some unexpected travel complications elsewhere, I was a last-minute guest, and Kerstin was extremely responsive and accommodating. I would definitely recommend Kerstin as an excellent airbnb host.

Kerstin was a perfect host! Her home was very cozy and stylish and she made us feel welcomed and at ease like it was our own home. She opened up her kitchen for us to cook in, loaned us her bikes for us to ride to the beach, and was fun to talk with when she was around. My favorite part of her home was the memory foam bed--super comfortable! Had a great time in Santa Cruz and would definitely rent from her again!

Although I was only able to stay for one night, my time at Kerstin's cottage was BEYOND AMAZING! The place was so simply and tastefully decorated, cozy, and clean. I appreciated the smell of the cottage, as some places have a stench or odor, the cottage smells of fresh linen. Kerstin also provides a supply of beach towels and chairs which is very thoughtful. The area around the cottage was very calm and quiet. Also the beach harbor (and The Crows Nest- a fabulous restaurant) is about two minutes (driving) away from the cottage. I really enjoyed my stay and will be returning in the future!

Amazing! It's like staying in a 4-star hotel, but much cozier. :) This was our first Airbnb experience, and so far we're impressed: Kerstin was very friendly and has an absolutely lovely home. We loved staying there for a long weekend as our "mini-honeymoon." It was close to the beach and not far from downtown, which was really convenient. We definitely plan on being back -- Santa Cruz is a great town and we can't imagine a better place to stay than Kerstin's.

This was an Awesome stay!!!!!! It felt like home. We had such a Great time, and this is a beautiful home. Kerstin, had muffins, breakfast, and a Fridge with fruit, and so many amenities, I couldn't believe it. We look forward to visiting Santa Cruz again, and staying at Kerstin's Beautiful home.

My husband, son and I were in need of a quick weekend getaway and found this lovely home via internet. It was perfect. Very cute and comfortable and had all the amenities you'd need. We would recommend this lovely home for a weekend getaway or longer. Thank you Kerstin. We hope to be back maybe this summer!!

Kerstin was a great Host. My wife and I rented out her entire Cottage. Upon arrival and opening the door, my initial thought was – “wow it smells great in here”. My wife said, “Can we move-in here?” Haha! We loved it. The Cottage was spotless, cozy, and quiet. Kerstin was very responsive. She even had cereal, juice, and breakfast items available for our use. Wifi, and fresh linens were also available. Beach, and local town was near by. Great weekend! This was our first experience using Airbnb, and it definitely won’t be our last. If you would like to stay in the Santa Cruz area. I highly recommend Kerstin’s Upper Harbor Cottage!!

One of the best guest experiences I've ever had. The photos of Kerstin's place don't really do justice to how open and spacious it is, and the kitchen is extremely well-equipped. I came for a last-minute writing retreat and had everything I needed, including extreme quiet. I will definitely return whenever I need a beautiful, serene environment.

Kerstin is an amazing host, without even being there. Our stay couldn't have gone more smoothly. The place was immaculate, just as described, and there always seemed to be a thoughtful note or gesture waiting for us, like an offer of coffee, milk, cereal, and fruit, or a note on how to use the tv to watch a movie/Netflix. We're glad to have chosen her place and look forward to staying again.

My husband and I rented this wonderful cottage with our 9 month old baby. We were in town for a family reunion and this was the perfect little escape for us to have some quite family time. The cottage is just as the pictures look, but even bigger and better. Walkable to the harbor and beach and just such a charming place to call our home away from home. The host left such a warm personal note welcoming us. We could tell she takes great care of her place and the beautiful gardens that surround this quite little haven. We'd go back in a heartbeat but may have to fight off the relatives to get first dibs! We would highly rec'd this place!

Kerstins place is more than we had expected! It is only blocks from Twin Lakes beach, Minutes from Seabright and the Boardwalk, and nestled back of the main street so it is very quiet when you're ready to relax. Kerstin was also a great hostess. Not only did she open her house up to us, but also provided coffee, tea, cereal and fruit for breakfast. I definitely recommend this place and will be back myself some time real soon!

Kerstin has a beautiful home in Santa Cruz. I would hardly call it a cottage (we did rent the whole home) but it is spacious, and lovely, and intimate all at the same time. It is a complete escape and only minutes from the Beach and downtown Santa Cruz. The landscaping and attention to detail is not missed, and the little touches such as breakfast items left out made it feel like home. It is impeccably kept, beautifully designed, and a warm inviting place to stay. I would absolutely stay here again and recommend it to others. Thanks for your hospitality Kerstin! We hope to be back! :)

We enjoyed a much needed get-away for our 30th anniversary and Kerstin's immaculate and most comfortable cottage was the perfect spot. We can't wait to return. Perfect location and within reasonable walking distance of the beach, nearby brewpub, coffee, etc. A full kitchen stocked with everything we needed to cook in. Kerstin provided delicious homemade bread on arrival. Lovely garden and porch area with lots of spots to relax in the sun.

Several years ago I told Kerstin about airbnb and the rest they say is history. We have know each other for many years through mutual friends and in the last couple of years through an art group I started with women I 've met at the gym. She is well traveled herself and is very knowledgable on places to go and things to see. She has successfully hosted (look at her reviews) people from all over the world. Her home is neat and clean and lovely and charming and usually smells of her delicious home bake goodies or another terrific meal she is preparing. She is close to the yacht harbor and a short walk to the Boardwalk. The wonderful private bedroom and bath is filled with sunshine and comfort. I myself have stayed there! There is also a great outdoor living space. Say yes to Kerstin and enjoy Swedish charm in Santa Cruz
