Priv Casita w pool/jungle

  My boyfriend and I had a great time staying at Casita Linda. It's part of the Vista del Valle Plantation Inn, so it had all the amenities of a larger resort (pool, restaurant on-site, staff to help organize offsite adventures) while still being quite isolated and private. The Plantation property is wonderful - we went horseback riding and hiking (300 feet down to the bottom of the waterfall!) - and it's easy enough to get a driver (through the Inn staff) to take guests to other places like volcanoes and zipline sites. The room itself is quite small - essentially just a bed in a room. Two walls were glass doors, and there were no curtains. There wasn't anyone around to look inside (that we knew of), but you might feel a little uncomfortable because of this. There was a small kitchen outside that we didn't use (microwave, toaster oven, sink), and a hammock that we did. The bugs at night were out of control - HUNDREDS flying around, especially these big beetles about the size of a quarter. Generally, it was fine if we kept the screen doors closed (although getting in and out to go to dinner was an adventure), but a few beetles got in and were a little annoying. We were told that it was one of the worst possible weeks for beetles (right between the dry season and the wet season), but we also saw tons of leafcutter ants, spiders, and other nature that if you're not excited about, you'll probably want to stay somewhere more urban. Overall, though, an amazing place to stay if you don't mind a little nature. Great to have all the amenities of a resort (pool, restaurant, staff to help plan adventures) and the isolation of a wonderful little casita!
