  My daughters and myself stayed here and it was a nice place to come home too. It's a little ways away from the city but you can get where you want to go by subway, bus, or taxi. Air conditioner works and no bugs! That was a big deal to me. Overall it was a great first time experience to New York City.

  Wonderful stays with great help and support of the host. Loved clean, spacious rooms and extra bed. The host could be reached whenever I wanted to ask anything. I would stay here again definitely.

  Mr. Aram is so friendly! we spend one week in his place, the flat is very nice (better than in the pictures). we were 3 girls and we found the flat enough big for us. beds are confortable, the bathroom very clean and in the kitchen we found everything we neen to cook. Mr. Aram is everyday in the building so if you've a problem he can help u. the flat is very close to the subway (just the time to smoke a cigarette), and the market as well. in the area u can find domino's pizza, pharmacy....all u need. we really liked to stay in that flat, and we recomanded to everyboby who like to spend a great time in NY. thanks Mr Aram

  We had a great stay at 1R. The apartment was spotless, Aram was a perfect host, and we felt very secure. The neighbourhood was at a slight distance from the main areas of town, but the subway station was pretty close, and we got around without difficulty.

  Aram was a great host. Contact was easy and well organized. The apartment was very clean and exactly as described. The neighborhood was safe and close to the 4/5/6 subway - just a few blocks away. I've stayed with friends in Harlem before so it was exactly what I expected. A great introduction with using Airbnb! Thanks, Aram!

  Aram is a fine host - easy to contact, quick responses. He was also at the building every day, so it was very easy to get in touch with him. Check in/out was also easy and very professional. Apartment 1R is two large rooms - bright, clean and comfortable, Plenty of seating and sleeping room, and just enough kitchen supplies (pots, pans, dishes) to cook a simple meal. The refrigerator was also spotless - really happy to see that. The neighborhood is very safe and full of restaurants and all the kinds of stores and services a traveler might need - a full service grocery just around the corner on 115th & 2nd, a Duane Reade two blocks west near the subway stop and a laundromat one block north on 1st Ave. The walk to the subway was two flat blocks, with 4, 5, and 6 trains stopping at that station 24 hours. I also had no trouble picking up a cab on either 2nd or 1st Avenues. I also really liked that the view in the bedroom is of the back garden - lots of light to enjoy on a beautiful weekend. The apartment is in the rear of the building on the first floor (no stairs to climb - great for getting luggage in and out easily.) I happened to be there during the NYC marathon (great fun to watch!) and even though the neighborhood had a day-long party celebrating the runners just a half-block away, none of the street noise made it into the apartment. I'll be keeping Aram's place on my favorites list, and will check to see if it's available for my next visits.

  I stayed in the apartment with my boyfriend & sister. Aram's apartment 1R has a great set up. Ample kitchen supplies, pillows & blankets. The apartment has a great fan & air-conditioning if you need it. It was quite humid when we were in New York, so it was a joy to come back to the apartment! The kitchen also had basic supplies which was nice; olive oil, sugar, salt & pepper etc. He leaves bits & pieces from previous guests which is great, we had soy sauce, salad dressing, mayonnaise, mustard etc. which was great. The apartment is very secure. We were told that Harlem is not the best area in New York. We didn't have any trouble while being here & did not feel unsafe. Aram supplied us with ample towels which was great; a big comfort for backpackers! The apartment was very clean. You could smell the cleaning supplies when we checked-in which was nice. Aram is a nice guy. We found him very flexible with check-in time. He gave us recommendations on how to get to/from the airport, where we can get coffee, groceries, where the subway station is etc. I absolutely recommend Aram's apartment/s & the Japanese place around the corner on 1st Ave!

  We had good time! The apartment is simple but nice, perfect is you don't want to spend a lot of money for sleeping and if you don't mind to take the subway to the center of the city.

  Inexpensive, convenient spot in New York City. Even has free street parking! 3F has a bed in the main part of the studio, and a futon in a slightly-too-short loft. Just don't try to leap out of bed in the morning, and you'll be fine. What a great way to stay in New York!

  We enjoy our trip in aram's place, he's a really great and attentive host. The studio is well equipped, everything you need for cooking, free internet... The subway is really not far away (2 blocks) and bring you downtown. There are all facilities like stores, food... For us, the district isn't special but it's popular and lively. It was a really great experience!

  El lugar muy confortable, comodo, limpio y muy bien equipado. Muy bien calefaccionado y agua caliente. A solo 3 cuadras del subte que te deja en 25 minutos en time squard . Muy seguro, Adam muy amable y respetuoso. Lo unico si van con niños o con movilidad reducida elegir un departamento de 1º o 2 piso, porque no hay ascensor. el resto excelente!!!

  bon rapport qualité prix ! Aram est très disponible et à l'écoute. Il a la gentillesse de garder les valises avant de pouvoir récupérer l'appartement, et met à disposition un tant de dépliants et d'informations sur la ville, ainsi que des parapluies. Même si les appartements ne sont pas dans le centre de Manhattan, ils sont accessibles très facilement par le métro. Bonne première expérience avec ce site.

  Our stay in NYC was amazing! Aram is a wonderful host and the location is perfect. The subway is about 2 blocks and although we were worried about the area it turned out to be great! Everything is around as far as stores and food and it looks a little rough we had no problem at all with the area. We were 3 girls and we came and went at all hours and never had a problem. Aram was great to leave maps and information that helped out a lot with our exploring. The place easily slept 4 of us and it probably could sleep more but it would get a little cramped. Our friends stayed across the hall and the room was equally nice. Definitely a hidden jewel! I will be looking into this again the next time I visit! SO beats paying expensive hotel prices.

  Aram was a great host and we were quite pleased with the housing he rented to us, a second-floor walk-up apartment in East Harlem. The best thing about it (having recently rented a different apartment in West Harlem) was that it was clean! Also, the loft bed was perfect for my daughters; the main bed was a very comfy mattress; the kitchen had reasonable supplies; the TV got good reception, even without cable; and the bathroom was clean and actually pretty! And had a sliding door that could separate the shower half from the sink/toilet half. That was useful. The ceiling fans were quite useful too when the temperature rose outside. The place is a fairly short walk (3 blocks?) from the nearest subway line (the 6) and so made getting places quite easy. There are a number of bodegas in the neighborhood where you can get basic foodstuffs or other supplies. While the neighborhood wasn't the most fabulous, we never felt unsafe, even at 9:30 at night. There was a lot of foot traffic, which helped with a feeling of safety. Aram came and checked in on us twice to make sure everything was OK. I would definitely stay there again, and I recommend Aram and his apartments!

  I brought my family up to NY for spring break. Aram's place was exactly as described, easy to find, easy to access, very clean. More than adequate in terms of space for the 5 of us. (Bless you Aram for having tea and coffee in the cupboards when we go there late!) The boys LOVED playing in the two lofts. Aram was very helpful and responsive. He left us info on local restaurants etc. and the two we tried, Ricardo and Agua Fresca were excellent. The flat is about 15 minutes by subway from Grand Central/42nd so a great combination of price and convenience to downtown/upper east side. We typically got in very late and felt safe the whole time. Highly recommended. (AirBNB was pretty good service too!)

  Nous sommes une famille de quatre avec deux enfants (8 et 13 ans) et nous avons adoré notre séjour à New-York grâce à cet appartement. Nous nous y sommes sentis en sécurité et libre d'explorer la ville à notre rythme. Les enfants ont beaucoup aimé les mezzanines. Le quartier est chaleureux et très vivant. L'appartement est fonctionnel et nous permet de ne pas nous marcher sur les pieds. De plus, le métro est vraiment proche (quelques minutes à pied). Nous y reviendrons sans hésitation. We are a family of four (2 children, 8 and 13th) and we loved to stay at this appartement. The neighborhood was friendly and secure. The floor-thru had everthing we needed and the subway was very near (5 mins). The next time we come to NY, we will rent this apart.
