Location:
The apartment has a superb location for exploring the city. It is within walking distance of all major attractions.
The apartment is located right next to Skólavörðustígur (30 sec. walking) which has become one of the most popular streets in the city with a great variety of restaurants, designer shops, cafés and bars. On Skólavörðustígur you will also find a nice grocery store (45 sec. walking)

-Laugavegur, known as the main shopping street in Iceland also has a great variety of bars, restaurants, cafés, Icelandic design and gift stores. (4 min. walk)

Please look up the web page for opening hours ((URL HIDDEN)

-The old harbor is about 10-15 minutes stroll down Skólavörðustígur or Laugavegur the main shopping streets. At the old harbor you can hop on whale watching tour or go sea angling. There are also museums, art galleries nestled in with quality fish restaurants as well as charming cafés.

-Harpa is the Reykjavik’s famous Concert Hall and Conference Centre (10 min. walking)

-BSI or Reykjavik Excursions is 10 minutes walking away. You can take a tour from there to just about any place in the country. Please look at their web page for further information ((URL HIDDEN)

How to get to the apartment:
The cheapest way from the airport is by Flybus, the airport shuttle. The Flybus is connected to all arriving and departing flights at Keflavik airport. The Flybus departs from Keflavik Airport 35-40 minutes after each flight and the seats are always guaranteed.

Please find other information such as flybus prices on ((URL HIDDEN) . The drive from the airport Keflavik to Reykjavik takes about 45 minutes. The Flybus arrives at BSI which is about a 10 minute walk away from the apartment but the flybus does offer the option, for a little extra fee, to stop at Hotel Óðinsvé which is 1 minute walk from the apartment, so that would probably be the best option for people traveling with luggage.

We are very friendly and hospitable owners so please don’t hesitate to contact us if you have further questions.

Look forward seeing you hopefully in Iceland :)

We had a nice stay in Margret´s appartment. The place was convenient for three persons, and had all we needed. It is situated close to the city center, within walking distance from shops and sights. Still, it was quiet, and we slept well. I would recommend it to people who wants to explore Reykjavik city center.

Margret's place was in a great location close to the Hallgrímskirkja. Check in was easy and her directions/description to the house made it very easy to find(something we didn't have as much luck with some other airbnbs in Iceland). We rented a car and were able to park for free across the street. Although it was on the ground floor, the neighborhood was quiet without much foot traffic. Ground floor also made it easy for luggage. There's a small market down the street and plenty of shops and restaurants around. We parked our car for 2 days and walked wherever we needed to go within the city. The furnishings were cozy and nothing was lacking. Another huge plus is that it is across from a hotel pickup spot so any pick-up/drop-offs for excursions were simple we just waited in front of the door and the bus pretty much pulls up right in front! Thank you Margret for your hospitality.

A great value for a basic, quiet, central Reykjavik location. Four of us slept comfortably; I shudder to think what a hotel would have cost. The location is great. A quiet, pleasant residential street, but only three blocks' walk to Reykjavik's main shopping streets. Walk along those streets for ten or fifteen minutes and you are downtown. Two superb bakeries are within 5 minutes' walk of the house. There is free street parking on the same block, and paid street parking on adjacent blocks if the free space is taken. Check-in was easy via a key box. We arrived at 130 AM (sunrise!) without problem. The house is not quite as sparkling as the photos indicate. Blinds are a bit funky, some of the windowsills could use repainting, that kind of thing. Still, it was perfectly clean and the bedsheets freshly laundered. A multiconverter plug was thoughtfully provided. Kitchen supplies are basic, and I am not a fan of the Senseo coffeemaker. Overall, this rental would not be a destination in itself, but it is a good base for exploring the city, or as a jumping off place for the rest of Iceland.

Terrific central location on a quiet street, but walkable to everything. Apartment is spacious and very comfortably accommodated four of us on our girls Iceland trip. Parking is street parking, but we were able to find a space two blocks or so from the apartment. The bathroom seems to be a bit of a work in progress with a very small shower, but works fine. Would definitely recommend Margret's place to others visiting Reykjavik and would stay here again myself!

The apartment is centrally located and near city Centre. The apartment is a bit different from the picture perhaps due to it is a bit old. Some refurbishment is required for the toilet. The light in the sitting room was not sufficient and the host had quickly response to replace another one with 3 light bulbs immediately. We thank the host for the assistance extended to us during our stay.
