Cheap and central room in Barcelona

Andrei was a wonderful host! The apartment is in a good location and you can reach everything you want easily. He also gave some great suggestions on eating and sightseeing. We definitely recommend this place!

Andrei was a great host. Well located near las ramblas, easy to get to from the airport and situated well to see many of Barcelonas main attractions. The apartment is exactly as described, small room but met our needs. Andrei was helpful and lent us a map and a sheet with restaurant suggestions etc. Definitely recommend for tourists looking to be near everything- and find the place easily. Close to metro too.

The most amazing host anyone can ask for in Barcelona! Andrei is a student in the university that is just down the block. He lives with his funny father on several flights of stairs. When you are greeted by Andrei, he gives you the overall rundown of the city, metro link system, and places one must see in Barcelona (if you haven't planned out your trip). He was a bit busy while we stayed, but made sure that everything went as smoothly as possible. If we ever go again, we will be sure to stay with him!

Two of us stayed 3 nights in the larger room immediately after arriving in Barcelona from a cruise and later for 2 nights in the small room after taking a four day detour to the Costa Brava. Andrei is very helpful and communicates promptly and efficiently. The larger room has a balcony overlooking the street so some noise during the night is present. Turns out that we probably didn't have the balcony window windows closed tightly which reduces some of that noise. The smaller room is pretty small which is not a problem if you don't have lots of luggage and are mainly using it for sleeping. We had two large suitcases and two carryons so the small room was a little tight. The bed in the smaller room actually was more comfortable than the one in the larger room. During our four night trip to Costa Brava, we stayed in somewhat more comfortable and spacious accomodations so we were concerned that we might have difficulty readjusting to the small room for our last two nights back in Barcelona. However we spent most of our time out touring and it worked out OK. There are two bathrooms in the hallway so access to the bathroom was not a problem. There's also a small kitchen so you can prepare snacks or make coffee. The main advantages of Andrei's lodgings are Andrei's helpfulness, a convenient location, good WiFi, and a significant cost savings compared to hotels in Barcelona which are fairly expensive. The biggest disadvantage for some people would be the 81 steps, which can be a little tiring, especially if you have heavy luggage or have been walking around Barcelona all day. Fortuneatly, Andrei was there to assist us with getting our heavier bags upstairs when we first arrived, and we left our larger luggage with him during the four days we were gone so we didn't have to carry it up the stairs the second time. The rooms are supposed to be on the 3rd floor but the way the floors are labeled, the bottom level is the zero floor, so it's actually 4 floors up. It's also possible that given the apartment layout, you might be subject to the overhearing of some domestic conversation. All in all, if you are looking for a basic very affordable sleeping space and don't mind the stairs, this lodging can be a very good value. Thanks to Andrei for his hospitality.

Very nice host. Was very helpful. It is a very correct price. But it should be a nice idea to mop in the room and corridor. You couldn't care for more with a host like Andrei, beyond that everything was great!

Andrei was a wonderful host! His directions were easy to follow, the room small but very clean, and his location was perfect for a stay in the city. Less than a five minute walk to Las Ramblas and metro and bus stops are just around the corner. Andrei was also so helpful with advice about where to visit and what to do. Visited places i would never have known about otherwise!

We stayed at Andreis place for 4 nights, it's in the center of Barca. The room was clean and cozy, little doggy Ruby is so funny and sweet) Everything was perfect! Thanks for all, hope to come back again)

Andrei is a amazing person. He is very helpful and friendly, You will be able to count on his help and the commitment!!! Location of the flat sensational!!!!!! Everything close, safely, maybe a little bit mess & loud from street but we are OK with this, in the end - it is Barcelona!!! Price was good, so alltohether: I recommend this place in 120%, in particular for young people. Oh and THANK YOU ANDREI, see You again for sure:)

A friend of mine and I stayed at this apartment for our very first trip to Barcelona. Andrei was such an incredible host. He answered any and all questions I had prior to our arrival with an almost immediate response time and exceeded any expectations we had the day we arrived by giving us a thorough run down of how to get around the city with suggestions to restaurants and places to check out, etc. He obviously loves this city and would be an excellent tour guide! We even checked out a couple of his suggestions and they were really good! The Grill Room directly in front of the apartment is a great place for lunch or dinner with really yummy food - definitely worth a check out. The noise didn't seem to bother us, but we're from big cities and are used to it. We came in on a Tuesday night so it was pretty calm all week until our final night which was a Friday. Be warned that La Rambla is a PRIME place for partying so there will be a horde of people next to the apartment and it could possibly be a problem for someone looking for something a little quieter. However, if you're looking to be in the middle of the action - this place doesn't get any better. Seconds from La Rambla, you have so many options for food and shopping. The Metro is really close (Drassanes is about 2 minutes away), but we found we didn't need to take it much...or we would just walk 10-15 minutes to Placa Catalunya since it's a main hub for public transportation. The apartment itself is pretty much as the pictures show. A lot of people mention it being "bare bones", but I think that all depends on what you consider bare bones. You have a bed, a sofa, a working shower & toilet, a fridge - ample space - what else do you need? If you're looking for luxury, this isn't the place for you, but who comes to Barcelona to spend time in their luxurious room? We simply used the apt for a place to rest our head and we were able to do that extremely comfortably. Word to the wise: If you plan on using the washing machine, be sure to contact Andrei on how to set it properly. I attempted to wash my clothes and it ended miserably. This may not be the machine, but rather me not understanding how to work it. My clothes were absolutely soaked at the end and didn't smell clean at all. Perhaps purchase your own detergent which you can find at the Supermercat a few second walking distance from the apartment. All in all and awesome experience. If you're looking for a place in the middle of it all - it doesn't get better than this. Oh! And the Boqueria is soo close too for those of you wanting to check it out. Andrei is very helpful guy. He introduced lots of tourism information upon our arrival, and provide lots of useful maps, guides. Room is clean, local is prefect, very close to metro stop and walking distance to central street. It's pleasant experice to stay in Barcelona, will deifinitely introcude Andtei's house to friends.

I want to thank Andrei for letting us stay at his apartment. Andrei had an emergency on the day of my arrival, so he was not able to be there to check me in. I didn't get his email in time since he sent it when I was traveling. Fortunately, the bike shop guy noticed us with our luggage looking lost, so he called my name. Andrei had left keys and instructions with him; I was very thankful of that. The apartment was clean and everything was functional. Everything Andrei did was great, I have no complaints. The cons are unfortunately related to the environment and not the host...You can't beat the location 1 block in from La Rambla, but unfortunately, it's very, very loud and noisy at night. People would be out at the corner bar until 3am each night. One night, this drunk guy kept on screaming at the top of his lungs. All 4 nights, we had disruptive sleep. By the 4th night, we were quite sleep deprived. We weren't able to sleep in the living room either because the neighbors smoked marijuana everyday from late afternoon well into the night. The smell would seep under the front door. The hallways reeked of smoke and we always held our breath in the hallway.

The small apartment of Andrei is in a very central location. This is a great benefit to all attractions in Barcelona - you can almost reach everything on foot or by metro. It has all the features listed in the description. Please do not expect a comfort or good hygienic conditions in the bathroom / toilet, but if you just want a bed for the night and would not to stay in the apartment during the day , then it's a good place to stay for several days. Andrei is a very nice and friendly host and he is responding to all questions of his guests. We want to thank him once again for it .

It was nice, cudle room with comfortable bed very close to the city center like 5 min. walking...bsthroom big with towels.

Andrei is nice,smart and open-mind young man. As a host,he is helpful and careful. I knew him from Airbnb,the first time we met each other is in his house. But differently,he is not just a host but a friend. We also learned a lot from him! Although he is so young,he had been a lot of country,those experiences to other countries help him to be a good host! Of course my friends and I shared amazing time in Barcelona!His friends from Singapore are also funny and we became good friends at last. My boyfriend, Ted and I stayed with Andrei for five days in Barcelona and we've remained in touch since then. Andrei is not only a spectacular host, but a great friend! For the first two nights I spent at Andrei's place, I was pretty sick with almost no voice and Andrei offered me some home remedies, tea and honey as well as good company for some lazy recovery nights hanging out and watching TV and movies in his apartment. After our stay with Andrei, we stayed outside of Barcelona for two nights and came back to the city the night before we had catch our flight out. Rather than pay for a hotel for that night (Andrei's rooms were already booked) he kindly offered us his couches for the night and we thankfully accepted this offer. Andrei stays in touch with Ted and I via (website hidden), and if he ever ends up in the US, he knows he has a place to stay! He is a great guy overall, and if we ever end up back in Barcelona, we'll surely be seeing him again, even if his rooms are booked.

I'm sorry for the super late reference Andrei! I've been so busy this summer, and forgot to get to it. Staying at Andrei's apartment in Barcelona was my first experience using Airbnb. He was the best guest one could ask for. It was our first trip to Europe, and he made our final stop totally worth it. His apartment is very cozy, and his dog Ruby is super cute. Andrei made the effort to take us around Barcelona and showed us places tourists normally wouldn't go to. Overall, it was an awesome experience! We would definitely stay with him again.

I stayed at Andrei's place for 7 nights in June and he was the most amazing host anyone could ever ask for! This was my first airbnb experience and it far exceeded my expectations. Andrei is a helpful, kind and generous host who will go out of his way to ensure you have a comfortable and enjoyable stay. His apartment is located near a 24 hour supermarket, a metro station, the shopping district, a pharmacy, a cigarette shop, las ramblas and great cafes. And if you need to get away from the crowds, Andrei knows the best places in town to relax and unwind! I would definitely recommend Andrei as a host, and I will definitely be staying at his house again when I return to Barcelona as we have become good friends since my visit :)

Andrei is one of the most generous and considerate people I know. Everytime somebody (even a total stranger) needs help, he is the first to offer it. Everybody who knows him consider him a very very nice guy you can count on!!

Andrei's place is fantastic and Andrei was the perfect host. I've traveled a lot in Spain but never to Barcelona. Andrei's place is perfectly located and you really get this amazingly 'Spanish' room all to yourself in the best central location possible. Andrei gave me all the info I needed about his apartment and city then let me do my thing. Any new questions I had he helped out plus let me store my luggage when needed on my last day. 10/10. It is 4 flights of stairs up but seriously well worth it. The only other point I would make is more generally to AirBnB and that is they should include a 'Closest Metro / Public Transport Location' as (website hidden) maps is not 100% reliable. Anyway the address is correct and Andrei was super helpful with directions once I arrived, it's Universitat (spelling) Metro stop and I enjoy the travel romance of finding my own way. If you visit Barcelona you should find your way to Andrei's place too!

I met Andrei through Airbnb but he's the best host ever! He stayed up late to greet us upon arrival and after that we hung out together for the four days we stayed in Barcelona! He took us to the best spots in Barcelona and afterwards we all went to the beach together. He really knows how to have a good time and he's super friendly and easy to get along with. Plus, he's really smart and fun to talk with!

Andrei hosted us on our first trip to Barcelona. He is a wonderful host who took time off to show us the city, take us to lunch, as well as keep us entertained while were at home.

It is a very nice place, everything is near from there, has a great view and also something that i like the most is the balcony, its big with sofa's and you just can sit there and watch the view for a while. Andrei is a great host, he makes you feel like home, he knows a lot from the city and outside the city. I stayed there for a month and it was great, I didn't have any difficulties and it was wonderful. If you go to barcelona, this is the place i would recommend, oh! and also he has this dog that is very nice, ruby, crazy little dog.

I met Andrei during a flashmob event in Barcelona one year ago and i have always spent a nice time at his place. He is the most relaxed person I know. I can't imagine him bothering someone and I never seen him bothered by anything.
