Description

Located in the heart of the medina of Marrakesh, the Riad Thalge welcomes you in a traditional Moroccan atmosphere, with peace and tranquility. 5 rooms for 10 guests, a patio with a small pool, 3 terraces and 2 living rooms.

This beautiful Riad is located in the heart of the Medina of Marrakech, 7min away from the place Jemaa el-Fnaa!

Come discover the Moroccan way of life in this antic house, completely renovated and redecorated in the last years.

The Riad "Dar Thalge" was the home of the favorite dancer of the Pasha of Marrakech in the middle of the twentieth century, in the 50s. Acquired in 2001 by French architect and designer Eric LEGRIS-Pascal, he was then renovated in an architectural style and iconic design, while retaining its original touches, such as the magnificent arches structuring the patio of Indian inspiration.

Dar THALGE offers an oasis of comfort and coolness even during the hottest hours of Marrakech. The Riad has been completely renovated in early 2011, to offer even more comfort, harmony and with the introduction of many touches of warm colors ...

The Patio of 150 m2 has a small pool where you can relax and cool down when blows the hot desert wind... The patio has the advantage of staying cool in the summer and retains heat during winter nights ... During the summer, we live in the patio during the day and spend the evenings on the terraces.

The Riad is available for rent by room or exclusively depending on your preference.
White Room for 2 persons: 50 € / night
Red Room for 2 persons: 70 € / night (with air conditionning)
Master Bedroom for 2 persons: 70 € / night
Family Suite for 4 people: 110 € / night
Riad in exclusivity from 1 to 5 guests at 200€/night
Riad in exclusivity from 6 to 10 guests at 250€/night
Each room or suite is equipped with a bathroom.

Tourist tax and tourism tax: The city of Marrakech requires all travelers to pay a fee of 23 dirhams per day per person (except for children under 12 years). Equivalent to approximately € 2, this tax will be required on arrival at the Riad and we donate to the city for its development. This fee is NOT INCLUDED in the price displayed on AirBnB.

Eating at the Riad
The cook Nezah will prepare your breakfast every morning. She's also here to prepare any Moroccan meal you might want, whether for lunch or dinner. The costs then varies depending on the meal selected and the number of guests.

The Riad also has 3 terraces and 2 living rooms in free access as well as a small central pool to cool off on hot summer days.
You can access them at any time of the day and night, as long as you respect the tranquility of the Riad and the other guests.
The sunroof is equipped with sofas to allow you to enjoy the sun.

We live in the Riad where we have our own private room.

This allows us to welcome you when you arrive, to advice you on your trip, what you should see, where you should eat and just help you during your stay.
Moreover we really enjoy meeting new people and making new friendships. We love sharing our knowledge of Marrakesh and our best spots in town.

Our English is not perfect but Mourad and Yassin speak very well and Translate is always here to rescue us in difficult times ;)

From the airport or the train station, you can take a cab to get to the Riad. The trip takes around 15minutes.
We HIGHLY recommend that you book the cab through us. Our usual chauffeur knows very well the Riad and the charges a flat fee already negotiated by us. It guarantees a safe and relax arrival at our Riad, the best way to start your stay.

From the Riad, you can reach the main square Jemaa El Fna in under 10 minutes.

Great place and a wonderful host in Mourad, Yassin and the rest. Very welcoming, hospitable, and helpful. Mourad was great in giving tips about the medina and also went out of his way to take us to a place where we could get quality argan oil. The tagine we had at the riad was the very best we had while in Marrakesh, or for that matter Morocco! Will be back at this riad the next time we are in Marrakesh

Beautiful riad! The riad is massive and so palatial! Short walk from the market, it has all the amenities and need and we felt very safe even though it was tucked away on some confusing streets. Edouard also helped us organise a 5 day tour which was lots of fun and saved us a lot of time and hassle, thank you! Would love to visit again.

The staff at the Riad is excellent and helpful in accommodating any need or concern! The Riad itself is beautifully decorated and clean. A bit hard to find but the staff provides help in finding the place originally. Overall, an excellent stay near the Medina and Djema el Fna that I would recommend to anyone visiting Marrakesh!

I booked the whole riad for me and 5 friends, it was a perfect oasis from the fun chaos of the city just outside. The pictures really don't do the place justice, it is beautiful. Especially the roof top seating area, where we sat and had a bottle of wine each evening. Everyone who worked at the riad was so friendly and helpful as well. We had dinner on the first night and breakfast each morning, all was delicious. We booked a trip through the riad to Amizmiz, and had a great day trekking in the Atlas Mountains. I would recommend speaking to the guys about the various options for trips. The riad is only 10mins from the main square, but it is quite difficult to find the first time. I would definitely recommend asking Edouard to book you a taxi from the airport (especially if arriving in hours of darkness). I would definetly recommend this riad. Thanks for a great stay!

The Riad Dar Thalge is in a great location right inside the Marrakech medina. The staff is friendly and the raid itself is well designed and clean –the balcony is amazing and we managed to get there just in time for an amazing sunse. Everyone around was really helpful and not only gave suggestions about Marrackech were even willing to walk us through the medina to where were wanted to go. The logistics are the only thing that are a bit off. When we got in we didn’t have any way to call the person meant to greet us directly, so we tried to call from the taxi drivers phone to arrange a meeting, but when we got to the square nobody was there. We ended up walking to the Raid, which isn’t too hard to find if you have the right address (it shows up in maps). We were in the white room, which has a great canopy and a comfortable bed, but there is no bathroom in the room and there are no keys to the room, nor the raid –although every time we needed to be let in someone was there. Other than that the stay was great, I don’t think that these factors really made the stay worse, it was quite good, but I just think that they could be more clearly stated.

We had a wonderful experience at this Riad! Our room was outside of the actual Riad, but we agreed to stay after reading other reviews and it was lovely. The room was big and clean, and we had access to the rest of the Riad whenever we wanted. My only two (very minor) issues were that we didn't have internet in our room (but there was in the rest of the Riad, so we just used that) and that I'd asked to be picked up at the airport, but it was never confirmed and then we had to find our own way there (the cab driver was very helpful - he called the Riad to get the proper address and directions). I would, however, definitely stay there again! The breakfast was absolutely amazing and we got to eat in the sun every morning, and we opted to have dinner at the Riad two nights in a row because it was so delicious (160 dirhams/person and 100% worth it - I would highly recommend eating dinner there) and made with all fresh ingredients. We got by just fine with only English, as almost everyone who works there speaks at least some English. Overall, it was a great experience!
