Hollywood Hills Charmer! 3br house.

A group of us rented Zoe and Patrick's house for a week in August and loved every second of staying there. They are really welcoming and talked us through each room in the house, what was available to us and the local area and were flexible with arrival/departure times. The house itself is gorgeous and spacious. Not knowing LA at all before we came, we couldn't believe our luck with the location as not only is it pretty central to all the spots we wanted to visit - Hollywood and Sunset blvd, Los Feliz etc - it's also within walking distance of some cool bars and restaurants and right at the foot of the Hollywood Hills so you feel like a celeb! We had plenty of space both in and out of the house and had everything we needed for the week - beds made up for us, enough space for each of us to have some privacy and beautiful front and back gardens that we spent most of our time in. It was a 100 times better than staying in a hotel and we didn't want to leave! I'd recommend this house to anyone planning on spending some time in LA, and would definitely go back (if they'd have us!).

We had an amazing stay at Zoe and Patrick's beautiful guest wing! First off, they are super responsive. The place is lovely and they stocked it up with breakfast goodies. The private little patio is so charming, and the main patio is so peaceful - it was such a relaxing treat to smell jasmine as I arrived each day. The place is perfect - they take it seriously in terms of making sure guests are cared for and you have everything you need, from cooking pots to a hair straightener. We stayed there with our 7-month-old and they were really understanding of a few crying nights and our stroller, etc, taking up the space. Zoe and Patrick were great hosts and we really loved getting to spend a little time with them!

This place is GREAT! It's bigger than it looks in the pictures and is really quiet, cozy and clean. The back yard has fruit trees and a table for a private breakfast in the sunshine. The area is residential and well groomed. There's no issue with parking on the street. It's a quick walk to Gelsons and there's awesome coffee at the Oaks. You can also run to the canyon - and if you're really in shape - all the way up to the Hollywood sign, right from your front door! Staying with Zoe and Patrick was like staying at a good friend's guest house -- pro hosts! They are very accommodating, patient and friendly. And pretty cute to boot! This place is highly recommended.

We just spent several great days at Zoë & Patrick's lovely guest wing. It was perfect. Everything was clean, well-decorated, and comfortable. Not only that - Zoë & Patrick supplied us with lots of goodies so we did not even have to run out for any supplies. They were very friendly and gracious and delightful to talk with. They made every effort to accommodate our every need. The home is well located right in the foothills of the Hollywood Hills. There are even fruit trees right in the backyard loaded with grapefruits and oranges - like being in paradise. When we go back out to LA, you can be sure we will contact Zoë & Patrick first!

I have nothing but wonderful things to say about Zoe and Patrick and their guest house! They were so inviting and accommodating from start to finish, we did not want to leave. My friend and I went to LA for work, but it ended up feeling more like a vacation. Zoe is the perfect hostess, putting little touches in the apartment that makes it feel more like a hotel. And Patrick always makes himself available for anything you might need (even a cup of sugar). It was great getting to know them, they are so kind and fun. The place itself was perfectly located, on a quiet street but near everything. It is within walking distance to a GREAT gourmet food shop and restaurants. The decor is done beautifully, and it is very easy to feel at home. We will definitely stay there again next time we are in LA! Thanks guys!!

Zoe and Patrick´s guest wing is an fantastic place to stay! A very private location, modern, comfortably, clean, quiet and safe with everything you need. Both are awesome hosts, so friendly and helpful. I really felt "at home" and will go back again the next time I stay in LA.

Staying at Zoë and Patrick's guest house is an honor and a privilege! The space, location, and charm all beautifully entwines Hollywood's 1950's noir chic with the serenity of ancient zen mystique. When I checked in late in the evening, I flashed on the lights and was greeted by immaculate style and elegance. I put on the cotton robe and immediately felt like i was living the good life. Nestled at the foothills of the Hollywood sign, their location makes for a convenient walk down to the bustling boulevards of Sunset and Hollywood, where you'll find all the legendary sights, people, and lifestyle the city is famous for. If the fast paced Hollywood hustle is too much, you can easily retreat into the Hollywood Hills for a view from heaven of this City of Angels. One unique LA characteristic is the need for a car, but the convenience of staying at Zoë and Patrick's place really helps overcome that hurdle. Especially since you don't have to pay for parking, you don't feel as though you have to get your money's worth! Of course, if you need to get around, their place is right beside the freeway and on the night's I was out, was able to get to Silverlake and Downtown in a quick 5-7 minute drive. Zoë and Patrick themselves are sweethearts who understand great hosting is about prep work, minding the details to care for the guest before they arrive so as not smother them once they've checked in, allowing you to check out mentally and just enjoy yourself :) Still, they always made it known they were readily available if anything was needed. Communication was a breeze. They were very responsive prior to booking and provided me all the instructions I needed to check in privately. Zoë and Patrick are fun, friendly, and interesting folks that I would have loved to gotten to know better! If you want to visit Hollywood and show off an expensive hotel billing receipt for a place like the Redburry, by all means, live it up and feel like a star. But, just know, a few blocks away, you can be treated like a star, feel like a local, and chat with the actual writers in Hollywood who are responsible for the town's global image.

Zoe and Patrick are great.... You could not have any better houseguests or renters...and..... I have stayed in their charming home on Van Ness over the years when traveling through LA ( I live in Thailand much of the year) and they have stayed at my rental home in Palm Springs... Their home on Van Ness is a mere few minutes walk from some fun restaurants on Franklin (only two blocks away)....and even a well noted comedy club (Upright Citizens Brigade) and two blocks from a Gelson's market (although we recommend you buy your wine at a Von's Pavillion or Ralphs and not at Gelson's which is completely unaware of the recession as far as their wine pricing). It's win-win if you stay at their place....and if you have the good fortune to meet them, you will love them. She's English, charming, and great at breaking into singing period show tunes if she doesn't think anyone is listening. Her grandpa (great grandpa?) was the Ed Sullivan of England, although she probably won't tell you that (but I can as she has no idea I am writing this review....) And ultimately, you will hear someone on an Academy Awards presentation one day in the future saying..."the Oscar for Best Original Screenplay Goes to Zoe ...." And then you can say "I stayed at her home...." And if you're inclined to go to to the Hollywood Bowl and don't have a good parking pass, well, you can walk from their home if you allow a bit of time and good tennis shoes. So if you're looking for a place to stay and you want confirmation that there will be no bed bugs, monsters, or "oops....we blew it", stay at Chez Zoe and Patrick.

I have known Zoe for over 13 years - she is a kind hearted, creative, and intelligent individual. She uses good judgement and is very respectful. Zoe and Patrick have a beautiful home, in an amazing location, that they put much care and energy into. If Zoe and Patrick were in your home they would treat it like their own. Zoe and Patrick make great guests, and great hosts.

Yes! Couldn't think of two more fun and lovely people to stay with while in LA!
