One-of-a-Kind Barn Home & Cabin

  Staying in this property is a dream--an amazing structure, in fantastically beautiful surroundings, convenient to Greylock, Williamstown, Pittsfield, North Adams, Adams, the AT, and many lovely paths and roads for wandering, by foot, bike, or car. Alternately, you can just sit and enjoy a bottle of wine with friends in the barn, on the shady or sunny decks, on the hill behind the barn that slopes down to the cabin and the pretty stream running by it. My husband and I stayed with my father and one of his college friends--they were doing a nostalgia weekend centered on Williams campus. We had no regrets about the short drive in and out of Williams; the area is so beautiful, they only added to the enjoyment. The cabin is wonderfully appointed and meticulously maintained. I'll now be on a mission to find pillows as comfortable as the abundant stash they provide. I have terrible indoor mold allergies that are triggered by the slightest amount, even in the walls of a building, so I was a little worried about what I might find on that note in a structure that old. No worries at all; due to the impeccable renovation, and the wonderful open space and light throughout the building, I was more comfortable there than in my own apartment in Boston. We only got to be there a couple of days, which was definitely a tease. We hated to go, and will definitely be back. Thank you for sharing this phenomenal property with travellers. -Melissa and Mike

  A great place for a group or family to stay. Not a lot of privacy in the sleeping arrangements, but enough for us. The kitchen is great, and there is a huge dining table and large living room, so you won't feel cramped. High points: outdoor shower, creek and waterfall, great old farm implements as decor. Caretakers are nice and provide necessary info.

  We had a wonderful stay at Mason Hill—enjoyed the peaceful and beautiful setting, the rustic and elegant home with open space and comfortable beds, and a great kitchen. Although staying on Mason Hill is vacation enough, the location is convenient to North Adams and Mass MoCA, Mount Greylock and all kinds of hiking. Don't miss the Ashuwilticook Bike Trail, it's a real gem.
