Cozy place in downtown Reyjavik

Helga was a kind and grateful host while we were in Reykjavik. She picked us up from BSI quite early in the morning, and treated us to a small driving tour of Reykjavik en route to the flat, which gave us a good lay of the land. The flat was indeed cozy. It was clean and modern, with many conveniences that made our stay far superior to that of staying in a hotel. The location was VERY good, with a Bonus grocery store next door, and only a 2 minute walk to the main shopping/restaurant street in Reykjavik. Overall, the flat was very accurately represented by her description on AirBnb. I would highly recommend this flat for anyone looking for an affordable 1-bedroom rental in downtown Reykjavik!

We could not have asked for a warmer introduction to Iceland and the city of Reykjavik! The stay that we had at Helga and Snorri's apartment was truly wonderful. Our hosts were kind enough to give us a tour of their city on our arrival which really helped to settle us in. The apartment itself is a warm and comfortable haven right in the middle of some of the best shops and cafes- a fantastic location. For the time that we were in Iceland this apartment really felt like home! Highly recommended!

My husband and I stayed in this apartment for the Iceland Airwaves festival and it could not have been better! As others have said, the apartment is conveniently located by a great bakery and a Bonus grocery store, and it is in easy walking distance to nearly everything you may want to see in central Reykjavik. The apartment is very comfortable and cozy and Helga and her husband, Snorri, made us feel very welcome. I would definitely stay here again if we return to Reykjavik.

Helga was wonderful, and I can't imagine a more centrally/perfectly located space to have stayed in! Truly, if you want to get the most out of a stay in Reykjavík, this is the place to be.

Place looks exactly or even better than pics. Sofa is big and comfy. Very clean. MUCH better value than comparably priced hotels in Reykjavik... Really, we were so much more comfortable here. Hotels in Scandinavia tend to be pretty basic and uninspired. Wifi and cable TV is nice to have too. Very ideal location.

Very comfortable, clean, quiet apartment ideally located in quiet area two blocks off of main street. 5 minute wallk to downtown. Well equipped kitchen, with super market 1/2 block away. An arranged late check out meant we did not have to make an early trip to the airport. We will recommend and stay here again on our next trip to Rek.

This apartment is situated in a very central and convenient location in Reykjavik. The apartment decor is beautiful and the space is just lovely. The hosts picked me up from the bus terminal even though my flight had been delayed some 5 hours. They then took me on a mini guided tour of Reykjavik which was lovely of them. I had a fantastic experience in Reykjavik which was made even more special having stayed in this cozy place in downtown Reykjavik!

Helga is a great host and the apartment is perfect - clean, comfortable, quiet, and centrally located. We very much enjoyed our stay and will definitely try to stay there again the next time we visit Reykjavik. Milos & Denitza

Helga was a wonderful host! She picked us up from the BSI bus terminal (she was very flexible and kind as our plane and therefore our bus arrived later than expected). The apartment was beautiful, clean and the perfect location - this has got to be the best deal in Reykjavik! Honestly being picked up from the bus station and being taken on a short but thorough tour of Reykavik really says it all about how Helga (and her Husband) treats their guests. In addition the apartment was stunning and well kept. I Would advise anyone coming to Reykjavik to stay here :)

Helga was a great host and helped make my stay in Reykjavik one to remember. Her and her husband picked my friend and I up from the bus station, and even though the weather was bad, took the time to take us on a quick tour around the city. Helga was very helpful in recommending great restaurants and nightlife activities. The apartment was impeccably clean and on the main street in the city center. An easy walk pretty much anywhere. Thanks Helga for letting us stay, I truly enjoyed it and can't wait to come back to Iceland.

Fantastic apartment. If you're going to Reykjavik then stay here. Wonderful hosts,thank you for our tour, it gave us our bearings, and also all the little bits of everything in the kitchen were a big help. Honestly have nothing but good things to say. Perfectly located. Safe, warm and comfortable.

Great apartment in a great location. Very central but not noisy. Helga kindly came to pick us up from the BSI bus terminal despite very heavy snow and gave us a quick tour of the local area which helped us get our bearings. We managed to spot the northern lights from the front balcony one night. Unfortunately the pipes were frozen so we couldn't enjoy the hot tub on the back south-facing terrace but think if the weather has been more favourable this would have been a real treat - we'll have to find out next time!

The place was amazing and couldn't be located better for going out in reykjavik. I loved the city and will be back, but not unless I can stay at Helga's. She did a great job giving us a 101 of the apartment and how everything works. If you come to stay, use the coasters, She loves her oaks!

The apartment was so cozy for a winter weekend. Helga gave us a really helpful tour of Reykjavik when we arrived and even picked us up from the bus station at 6 in the morning. Awesome host.

Great space - great location in the heart of Reykjavik's shopping district and two blocks from City Center. Helga was very friendly. No problems whatsoever. :)

Helga and Snorri were great hosts, and the penthouse apartment could not have been better. We greatly appreciated being picked up at the Bus Terminal in Reykjavik and given a tour of town before being dropped off at our apartment. Before the visit, I found Helga to be prompt with email responses to all questions that I had. I would very much recommend this apartment to anyone thinking about visiting Reykjavik.

This appartment is beautiful. The bed is comfortable. The location is excellent. You would be hard pressed to find a hotel or another place in Reykjavik thats beats it for the money spent! Be sure to have time to go over the door instructions with her as we did not (literally had 2 seconds to grab the keys before rushing to whale watching) and it was a bit confusing. Our only regret is that we really didn't have much time to spend in the appartment.

Helga was fantastic - offering me a tour of Reykjavik (including hostels where I was able to meet up with other travelers). There was a minor hiccup with the internet on the first night - the wireless router wasn't working and she told me that she'd have to pick one up the next day. I headed out for dinner and she had replaced the router with a working one by the time I made it back! Oh, and the apartment itself? Incredible, exactly as pictured, walking distance to everything. I'll be back to Reykjavik and I'll be staying here when I do.
