Cozy place in downtown Reyjavik

When we arrived Helga let us know that the room referred to was occupied by her brother, so they were upgrading us to her other property (Super sweet downtown location 101 R). So this review really applies to that place. Helga and her husband are very pleasant hosts; they picked us up at the bus terminal and gave us a whirlwind tour of Reykjavik, saving us time and getting us oriented. The apartment was very nice with a bright living/dining room/kitchen (although the building is a bit run down). It's located right on Laugevegur, the main shopping street, so it's right in the thick of things, and has a balcony overlooking the street.

Helga was a great host. She gave me a great tour of the town before taking me to the apartment. The apartment was very roomy and tastefully decorated, and was thoroughly clean. It was also well located. Close to everything, but away from the noisy clubs and bars. I enjoyed my stay here and I would definitely stay again on a future visit.

Helga and her husband were amazing hosts. Our bus got delayed but they still waited for us at the BSI terminal. Afterwards we got a tour around the city before getting dropped off at the flat. Everything was prepared in the apt and the loft was very tastefully furnished. Our best stay during our Scandinavia trip!

Helga's apartment is the perfect home away from home you can ever ask for in colourful Reyjavik. We arrived late at 1:30am and she kindly waited for us and showed us everything that we needed to know. The apartment is perfectly located in central Reyjavik within walking distances everywhere. There was a shared parking spot for the apartment building and we managed to park our rental car every night during our 5 nights stay. Not to mention the bed was extremely comfortable and the hot spring shower alone makes me dream of the next time we return.

Helga was a kind and grateful host while we were in Reykjavik. She picked us up from BSI quite early in the morning, and treated us to a small driving tour of Reykjavik en route to the flat, which gave us a good lay of the land. The flat was indeed cozy. It was clean and modern, with many conveniences that made our stay far superior to that of staying in a hotel. The location was VERY good, with a Bonus grocery store next door, and only a 2 minute walk to the main shopping/restaurant street in Reykjavik. Overall, the flat was very accurately represented by her description on AirBnb. I would highly recommend this flat for anyone looking for an affordable 1-bedroom rental in downtown Reykjavik!

We could not have asked for a warmer introduction to Iceland and the city of Reykjavik! The stay that we had at Helga and Snorri's apartment was truly wonderful. Our hosts were kind enough to give us a tour of their city on our arrival which really helped to settle us in. The apartment itself is a warm and comfortable haven right in the middle of some of the best shops and cafes- a fantastic location. For the time that we were in Iceland this apartment really felt like home! Highly recommended!

My husband and I stayed in this apartment for the Iceland Airwaves festival and it could not have been better! As others have said, the apartment is conveniently located by a great bakery and a Bonus grocery store, and it is in easy walking distance to nearly everything you may want to see in central Reykjavik. The apartment is very comfortable and cozy and Helga and her husband, Snorri, made us feel very welcome. I would definitely stay here again if we return to Reykjavik.

Helga was wonderful, and I can't imagine a more centrally/perfectly located space to have stayed in! Truly, if you want to get the most out of a stay in Reykjavík, this is the place to be.

Place looks exactly or even better than pics. Sofa is big and comfy. Very clean. MUCH better value than comparably priced hotels in Reykjavik... Really, we were so much more comfortable here. Hotels in Scandinavia tend to be pretty basic and uninspired. Wifi and cable TV is nice to have too. Very ideal location.

Very comfortable, clean, quiet apartment ideally located in quiet area two blocks off of main street. 5 minute wallk to downtown. Well equipped kitchen, with super market 1/2 block away. An arranged late check out meant we did not have to make an early trip to the airport. We will recommend and stay here again on our next trip to Rek.

Helga was a wonderful host! She gave us a tour of her beautiful city with great recommendations. We look forward to returning and staying at her perfect location. On the best street in the city with plenty of shops and central to everything. Her hot tub was out of service, but we had so many other things to do, we didn't miss it. Thank you so much! The apartment was perfectly located and very comfortable. Helga was very helpful and took us on a tour of the downtown area after picking us up at the bus station. We highly recommend this apartment!

Helga was very accommodating even when we couldn't show up as early as expected. The restaurant recommendation she provided was fantastic and we really enjoyed our stay in the apartment. She even helped us drop off our postcards the following day. Thanks for everything!

Helga was a lovely host and was very helpful when I had phone problems, even loaning me one for my stay. The apartment is in a fantastic location and is very well equipped. Iceland was a fantastic place to visit, amazing landscape, heaps to do, great food and lovely people.

We had a lovely stay in the penthouse. Helga was a wonderful host. She was so kind. We had an early flight and she agreed to let us book in earlier. She helped out when my husband got a parking ticket. Helga that was so generous. She took us on an amazing tour around Reykjavik. What a great representative of beautiful Iceland.The penthouse is beautiful, so clean and warm and comfortable. There was some gorgeous fresh coffee and milk waiting for us. The view from the penthouse is wonderful - snow capped mountains. We hope to see you again.

Helga is welcoming host. Due to some hot tub issues, she upgraded us to her nicer apartment in the same building. She provided everything needed and her places are fantastic. The apartments are nicely decorated and right on Laugvegur, the main avenue.

Great apartment, right in the center of town. The perfect base - we were able to visit everything on foot, and when we hired a car to explore further afield it was easy to park too. Helga picked us up from the bus station and gave us a tour of Reykjavik. The apartment itself has an amazing view and has everything you'd need. Highly recommended!

A perfectly located apartment; right in the centre of the best shops, cafe's and bars in Reykjavik. Helga and Snorri kindly picked us up from the bus station and took us on a quick tour pointing out good places to eat and drink along with places of interest. The apartment itself is clean and well equipped for those who want to self cater. And the hot tub on the roof is great for enjoying the sun go down with a cold beer.

Wonderful penthouse very well located in downtown Reykjavik. Helga and her husband are very nice and reliable hosts that gave us very good advice about where to go in the neighborhood (Dam ! the bakery next door is a MUST) and that did whatever they can to help us when necessary.

Honestly being picked up from the bus station and being taken on a short but thorough tour of Reykavik really says it all about how Helga (and her Husband) treats their guests. In addition the apartment was stunning and well kept. I Would advise anyone coming to Reykjavik to stay here :)
