  • Carolyn's apartment is great, such as seen on the pictures! It is very quiet and charming, and having a garden is very nice! The situation of the flat is near from subways, shops and Central Park, and Harlem is a very cool borrough. Carolyn is sweet, helpfull and very organized. We warmly recommend her place!

Large beautiful apartment in an interesting and convenient location.

  • This is a super base for a visit to Manhattan, with easy access to subways running on both East and West sides. Generously provisioned and comfortable it has the bonus of a small garden and there are good shops and restaurants within easy reach. The hostess, Carolyn, is great to deal with and provides all the information about the locality you need.

  • We staid for 14 days in this very comfortable appartment, spacy rooms, quiet street and in reach of shops and subway and busses.Harlem is still vivid and has a lot to offer, music, theater and gospel. We enyoid the squirrels and fireflys in the garden and the surrounding sounds of the churches. It was nice to sit in the garden after a bissy day in the city, do shopping around the corner, and watch the birds and the sky going redder and darker. For everyone who who wants to be in easy reach of the city and have the feeling to be out of the center, this is the place to be. Many thanks to our host Carolyn, who had everything well arranged. Very clean and modern apartment. Safe building. We would stay there again if we were in New York. Carolyn is very nice and polite.

Carolyn's place is a comfortable, nicely furnished, street-level garden apartment centrally located in Harlem. There are two subway stations within a few minute's walk, which can bring you anywhere you want to go in the city in about 15 to 30 minutes. Street parking is not at all difficult to find (but pay attention to street cleaning times, when double parking is perfectly acceptable). The area has plenty of good places to eat and buy food. And Carolyn leaves a list of suggested places to try. The apartment has a full kitchen with a large new oven, sink, and small fridge. Off the kitchen is an inviting, enclosed grassy backyard with a big kettle barbecue. (Where in the city do you get to hang out and grill in your own backyard?) The floors are all shiny hardwood. There's a roomy air-conditioned bedroom with a queen-size bed and a bathroom with a shower. The spacious living room has a double sleeper sofa, a TV and another air conditioner that makes the room go frigid quickly, even in late-August heat. Carolyn is easy to reach before, during and after your stay. She's accommodating and informative. She lives in the city and was there to greet us when we arrived. We stayed a week at the end of August to move my daughter into college. I wanted a place that was equidistant between her school in Bronxville and NYC, so we could travel back and forth getting what she needed into her dorm as well as enjoying time in the city. It worked out perfectly that we rented a car to move her into her new living quarters but had street parking for those times when we headed by subway downtown. The neighborhood felt safe and homey. It was the ideal situation for my three kids and me. And I will definitely stay there again when visiting New York. Thanks, Carolyn, for making this wonderful rental available in this way.

  • Staying @ Carolyn's Place was wonderful! It was spacious, clean, quiet and cool. After a couple of days, it started to feel like I lived there, which is nice. The shop on the corner had great food and everything we needed and the train was just up the street. I would tell a friend and stay there again. The photos don't do it justice. It was awesome.
