About this listing
Thank you for visiting my listing. I am a proud Airbnb Superhost of 3+ years, and I have a lovely private bedroom available in my shared home where you are welcome to the bath, kitchen, den, dining, laundry, and porch spaces. With that said, my best guests have been longer-term interns and visiting professionals. Add, the house is safe and centrally located in a historic neighborhood with a new Starbucks in walking distance. It also has Wi-Fi and is located just 10 minutes from downtown Jax~
You are invited to share my lovely 2/1 bungalow home located in a safe historic Riverside area of Jacksonville, Florida. The home was built in 1923 and it is full of character a few quirks. It is also very pretty and relaxing by design. It's especially great for artists, writers, healers, and students. (An aside, I recently accepted a compliment from a friend who said that everything in it reminded him of Pinterest;) In addition, there is lots of natural light on the wooded property, and the shared bathroom is large. Also, nearby you will find shopping, restaurants, yoga studios, parks, and much more. I also have a bike that you are welcome to borrow if you would like.
NOTE: I PREFER LONGER TERM STAYS FROM A MONTH TO A YEAR. Other than that, 48 hour advance request notification and a minimum of a 2 night stay is appreciated.
Where the beds are concerned, the master bedroom in the rear of the house has a queen mattress that is medium-soft firmness to it. Also, the home is surrounded by many trees, birds, and squirrels. So, it is likely that you will hear them rustling about. There is even a train track in the distance that you may hear as well.
During your stay, you should expect to enjoy the comfort of sharing a charming home in a safe, low-key neighborhood near the hub of Jacksonville. Also, I am happy to point you to places to go nearby that suit your interests. (Be sure to check-out my Guidebook too.) Add, I work full-time and then some, and I am very respectful of your privacy while you stay. I hope that this gives you a sense of whether or not this is the kind of place you are looking for for a short or longer stay;)
My background: I am a free spirited, single, child-free creative information professional who loves to travel and enjoy the arts. In addition, I do not have pets of my own, however I do foster dogs and cats from time to time.
Guests can access the house by the front door using a traditional metal key. The front door has an antique knob handle and a deadbolt lock that automatically locks when the door is closed. It can also be set to stay unlocked or set to lock the door from the inside out. In other words, it can be set to keep someone entering the house with a key from the outside. With that said, I teach every quest how to operate the door. (There is also a hide-a-key that is stored in a combo lock on the front porch.)
Interaction with guests
Please feel free to message me if you have any questions before or during your stay.
Other things to note
Bathroom Quirk: You have to turn the cold water faucet on first (a little) before you turn on the hot water. Otherwise, the water may not flow and you may also hear an odd noise from the pipes.
Common sense courtesy is expected and appreciated. I also ask that you leave the property in the condition you found it in and that nothing is removed from the property without permission. In addition, this really is not a party-hard home, and respect for sleep volume levels after midnight is a must;) Thank you~
