Description

The space

This is a family vacation home that we occasionally rent to travelers who appreciate a place that lives. This is not a guest room or a house exclusively for rent.

This is a place for rest but we eventually ended up putting a wifi connection as our guests kept asking for it.

You'll also find plenty of games, DVD's (to play on your personal laptop) and bluetooth speakers to listen to music.

There are 4 bedrooms 2 on the ground floor and 2 upstairs .

Access to the first room on the ground floor from the courtyard. Two single beds are put together but can be separated. The room has its own bathroom.

The second bedroom on the ground floor is accessed from the lounge. It is equipped with a double bed and a bathroom.

A staircase from the lounge leads to a plateau (half landing) overlooking the lagoon. This space is perfect for relaxing , reading, playing , napping ...

Leaving the plateau/half landing, you get to the outside terraces with beautiful views across the lagoon.

On the yellow terrace you will find two bedrooms with a shared bathroom .
The room on the left is equipped with two single beds put together . The last bedroom has two single beds that can be put together.

A cot is also available .

Large living room with dining area and kitchen .

Parking in the courtyard entrance .

No TV or internet connection. It is a place of rest where we go to relax, enjoy the nature and peace .

Guest access

During your stay you are at home because we do not live there. You have access to all the property. The price varies according to the number of travellers. If you booked for two, then please chose your room and keep it until the end of your stay. After a couple of times where travellers tested all the rooms, we hesitated to use the key and close the others. But, we prefer a confidence-based relationship with you and hope you will be respectful of people (Fatiha, our neighbor who does the cleaning) and of environment. (using more rooms=more water, more washing products, more pollution)

Interaction with guests

Know that our neighbor is there to assist you with anything you might need and that we are available by phone and/or email.

The neighborhood

The area is very authentic and different from the rest of the city as it is the old Oualidia. The neighbors are very friendly and welcoming.

The lagoon is a 2 minute walk from the house. You'll find the small boats that make the crossing to the other side of the lagoon, on the sandy beaches.

Other sand beaches are within 15 minutes walk from the house.

Activities:

50 km golf course • Tennis • Beach • Fishing • Hiking • Beach Surf Beach • • Windsurfing • Sailing • Water sports • Quads

Nearby cities:
1 hour: El Jadida, Safi
2 - 2,5 hours: Marrakech, Casablanca, Essaouira

Getting around

To get there: Bus company CTM or taxi. Starting 60/70 euros for the trip (4-5 people per car) taxi Casablanca or Marrakech.

Car is not a must once you're in Oualidia but might be helpful if you're coming with a baby.

Amina communicated very well and her local caretaker received us swiftly. The house is in good shape and is perfectly fine as a beach house.

Amina is the host. She sends you info about the house of town before you get there, she answers any questions in seconds, she worries about you. Her neighbors, Fatiha and her son, are great. They can cook for you or send a fisherman to bring you seafood to the house. It was a great weekend. We will be back. My guess is that the house is more appropriate for summer than winter time. Oualidia is a great summer spot.

Oh thank you so much Pepe. We were really happy to have you and are very happy that you enjoyed your stay in spite of the not so great weather. Also, we love when our house is filled with kids so give all three of them a big kiss for us! :)

Amina and Sadri's family home is absolutely amazing. It was the perfect base to explore Oualidia, and when we had explored enough, it was so comfortable and relaxing to unwind there. The fireplace was a real bonus as the nights got a little chilly in March, but a roaring fire had us reclining on the giant bean bags and reading books while staying toasty warm. The kitchen is well stocked in terms of utensils and cooking equipment, we were able to cook a great meal there, and breakfast up on the terrace overlooking the lagoon and sea was an absolute treat. Leave the hotels just for drinks and going out for a meal, bring your family, stay at Amina and Sadri's wonderful place, and have a brilliant time. I'm just sad I didn't stay longer.

Thank you very much for your nice comment Saadat. If you ever come back to Morocco, now you have a second house. You'll always be welcome and this at a special price. :)

The house was cold and the bedding damp so I cut short my stay from two days to one

The house had plenty of space and we really enjoyed the living room with fireplace. We were surprised that 3 of the 4 bedrooms opened to the exterior instead of a hallway. The location was perfect for walking down to the lagoon and taking a boat across to the beach. We will have to come back in warmer weather for sure.

Lovely house overlooking the lagoon of Oualidia. Amina was very helpful with all the arrangements and could not have been nicer.

Thanks! :) We bought a wifi box, it's somewhere in the house, but we didn't know how to connect it the last time we went there. :) We'll have to call Maroc Telecom to get it done properly. :)

We are a couple (with a little baby since June 2015) who live in Casablanca. Our house in Oualidia is a place where we go as soon as we can as it offers a peaceful environment, good food and beautiful landscapes.

We love traveling and meeting people..

We will be happy to have you stay at our place and will do our best to help you make the best out of it! Our neighbor, Fatiha, and her family will most likely greet you and give you the keys as we don't live there. But we communicate on a regular basis with Fatiha prior to your arrival and until you leave, to check if you need anything.
