About this listing
If you are looking for a clean, affordable and safe place to stay during SXSW, ACL or Formula 1, look no further! Our home is 2 bedroom, 2 bath with an office and fully equipped kitchen.
Our house has two bedrooms, two bathrooms and an office (1200 sq. feet total). The master bedroom has a private bathroom. It comes with a king size Tempur-cloud Supreme Breeze mattress. A night's sleep is heavenly on this bed! The sheets are 100% cotton and it comes with 4 down feather pillows. Since this bedroom faces the backyard, you will awake to birds chirping, our beautiful wind chimes! The second bedroom is very quiet and comfortable. The TempurPedic queen size mattress makes for a very comfortable night's sleep! The sheets are also 100% cotton. The bed has 4 brand new down alternative hypoallergenic pillows. You also have use of an ironing board, iron and starch if you need it. We also have an office with an air mattress for a 5th guest. We provide several toiletries in case you forgot something such as toothbrush/toothpaste, shampoo, soap, lotion, razors, etc. If you forgot it, we probably have it.
The entire house is yours! You will have access to the TV in the living room, the kitchen, our glass top stove and dining area. We try to eliminate your need to run to the store for anything so we have a Keurig with assorted K-cups for coffee, cocoa, and tea in addition to an assortment of snacks and drinks for you to enjoy. We also provide juice, bagels, fruit, and eggs to cook for breakfast. If you need to use any of our spices to cook while you are staying with us, you are more than welcome to help yourself. All we ask is that you tidy up after yourself when you are finished. You are also more than welcome to store things in our fridge if you need to.
Interaction with guests
We have lived in Austin for a number of years so we are familiar with directions, restaurants and fun things to do in Austin. We are more than happy to provide you with a list of restaurants we have tried and would recommend as well as places to enjoy a drink in the evening. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask and we will get you answers.
Our neighborhood is a nice, safe and quiet residential area. Most of our neighbors are elderly and friendly. Our location makes getting onto I-35 and Mopac (Highway 1) a breeze! This makes it easy to get around the city via bus or car. We are very close to three grocery stores: two HEB grocery stores and a Sprouts grocery store. A small HEB and Sprouts are walking distance away. There are also several restaurants and pharmacies within walking distance as well. Every type of cuisine is within a short 5 minute drive! For SXSW, we are a short 10 - 15 minute drive to downtown and are also a short 10 minute drive to Zilker Park for ACL Festival as well. If you are interested in shopping, we are a five minute drive from several stores such as World Market, Ross, Academy, Homegoods, Target, Walmart, Best Buy, and TJ Maxx to name a few.
We are two blocks from two major bus lines. Via bus, it's about 20 minutes to Zilker Park / Auditorium Shores / downtown by bus. The bus is $1 for one way, $2 for a day, $9 for a week pass. For a faster commute around, taxis are also available and pretty reliable but not as cheap as the bus line.
Other things to note
Our check-in time is flexible. If you are coming from out of town and you need an early check-in, please let us know and we will try our best to accommodate it.
Since this is our home, all we ask is that you treat it with respect. We deep clean the kitchen, bathrooms, and bedrooms before your arrival. The only areas of the house that we ask you tidy up after yourself is in the living room and kitchen. We want you to enjoy your stay while you are here and have as much fun as possible. We look forward to meeting you!

My husband and I are proud public school educators. We love kids and are honored to be one small part of their big journey to becoming adults. We met as high school science teachers and are currently school administrators.
We have lived in Austin, TX for many years and love hosting people in our home. When we are not finding ways to upgrade/renovate our home, we are trying different restaurants around Austin, burning off the calories from all the wonderful food, watching live sports or hanging out with our friends and family on the weekends.
We are proud Austinites and love to share our knowledge of fun things to see, do and eat around Austin. We have tons of recommendations so please feel free to ask.
