Guests will have access to the backyard, washer, dryer* & bath amenities, beach towels, picnic blankets, etc. There is a separate entrance and you have the upstairs, self-contained home all to yourselves, as well as parking in the driveway. There may be times when myself &/or my adult son will be staying downstairs during your stay. We welcome our guests with priority access to the aforementioned facilities and we are very friendly! We will stay out of your way or be on hand to offer anything you may need to make your stay that much more exceptional. If we are not home, it is essential that guests refrain from using these additional quarters (ie downstairs kitchen, bath & den) unless pre-arrangements have been made ahead for large groups. We appreciate your cooperation. *If we are on-site during your stay, the backyard and laundry will be shared - but guests will always have priority access to these areas.
Interaction with guests
I am always available via text or email thru the airbnb site to answer questions and help with any issues, offer any sort of recommendations, etc, during your stay. I consider where to dine an emergency and encourage guests to contact me for anything they may need. We also have a list of great dining in the House Manual as well as take-out menus of recommended places in the area on site.
Other things to note
STR Registration Number: STR-0002131. Safe, quiet neighborhood lovely to walk in, close to everything you may need: quickie markets, banks, excellent dining, dry cleaners, organic market, nail salon & more.
Because this is our home, please respect that only registered guests are allowed on the premises, unless prior consent is confirmed in advance.
Please recycle trash during your stay. Details on-site & in House Manual.
Please be sure bathroom sink and shower faucets are turned off tightly after use.
If no one is on site to do so on Sunday evening, we would appreciate it if you would take out your trash and put the trash bins (black, blue & green in garage) out on the curb to the right (facing the street under small tree.) Refuse is collected Monday morning. Thank you so much.
Our neighbors are our friends and have requested quiet time between 11 pm and 7 am. Also be mindful not to block driveways if you have more than one vehicle.
Kindly remove shoes between 11:30pm & 9am (due to the hardwood floors :)
Please treat our unique vintage home with respect. It contains irreplaceable built-in features that make it such a special place. This especially applies to the toilet (gentle please - best to hold flusher down a few seconds) The sink & shower, which were built - to last back in the day - in 1938.
PLEASE use coasters and placemats for drinks & hot foods like pizza on wood surfaces. Coasters are everywhere and placemats are under the “secretary” in Dining Room.
Guests are responsible for their own dishes upon departure. Pots and pans should be in the same condition you found them in. An additional cleaning fee of $25 may be assessed if not. We have a dishwasher (very detailed instructions on left side of fridge) but knives, pots and pans should be washed by hand.
Please do not use kitchen towels for any stainable spills; “shop towels” (under washcloths) & paper towels provided in linen closet if needed.
Please do not use shams or decorative pillows to sleep on. For your comfort, we have provided a variety of pillow options. You are welcome to switch around to suit your preference.
Turn off the heater and lights at bed time and when leaving for the day. You are welcome to leave the outdoor light on if you’ll be returning after dark.
If we are away, the downstairs living quarters are “off limits” - except of course as access to the laundry, backyard & trash bins.
The cats are to stay in the garage at all times. Please be mindful they are fast and please keep doors closed at all times so they don’t get outside or into the house. If you go thru our unit to access the garage, please be sure & lock the den door afterwards (if we’re not home), as “the Captain” (black cat) can open the door! Please note you will be given a key to the garage if you prefer to access the garage facilities from the outside.
If we are away during your stay, a neighbor will be by to feed the cats thru the separate entrance via garage. If you prefer to feed them, that works too. We can discuss after booking. Cat food will be in plain site and water can be filled every few days in large bowl. Thank you.
If any damage occurs, kindly inform Danielle thru the ABB website prior to check out.
No need to strip the beds upon check out - unless you want to. But please leave shams and duvet covers on beds.
Please leave any wet or damp towels hanging over tub &/or shower when you check out. Please do not hang wet towels over wooden surfaces (including chairs or bedroom doors).
Upon departure, replace 1 set of keys in lockbox & leave the second on the dining room table (and change numbers from the code).

As a food obsessive and chef, I think one of the best ways to appreciate other cultures is through the local cuisine - squash blossom and huitlacoche quesadillas in San Jose Del Cabo, bacon-wrapped hot dogs in San Francisco's Mission, or jerk snapper on the beach in Ocho Rios. "Tell me what you eat and I will tell you who you are" by Brillat Savarin is one of my favorite quotes. I am a private chef and teach private cooking classes in San Francisco and the surrounding bay area. I'm 50 and have two beautiful kids: a daughter who lives in Brooklyn & my grown son (18!) who resides with me in SF.
If you're reading this to learn what type of guest I am, I can only tell you that I'm honest, mature, easy-going and respectful of people's property. I treat people's rentals as I would like my own to be treated.
Since ABB came along, I have been able to travel all over the world and spend time in the best, coolest neighborhoods where hotels could never compete.
I love the opportunity to meet new people from all around the world and do my utmost to offer my guests the Royal, 5 Star treatment: flowers, coffee service, luxurious linens and always special surprises. I love pretending I am the operator oand strive to exceed my guests best expectations. It's worked out great so far!
My motto in life is: Yes!
