We had a great stay in this apartment; it was nice to be in a real neighborhood, not downtown in a hotel setting. Having free parking for our car was also a plus. Working with Charlotte for the rental, and with Denise as our host, was also a very enjoyable experience - Denise was most helpful with tips for transportation, and there was a wealth of information about restaurants, things to do, etc. in the apartment. We really enjoyed the space, having both a bedroom and small living room area, plus a kitchen (which we really did not use). There is quite a lot of closet space, and I did notice both a pack 'n play and booster seat so this would be really ideal for a young family. I would give this 5 stars if not for the fact that the bed was really too soft for my back and the bathroom was quite small. But the ambience of being right on the Potomac River was ideal, and we were even in time for the fall colors.

Die Gastgeber sind sehr freundlich und völlig unproblematisch, da ist Familienanschluß vorprogrammiert. Die Wohnung besitzt nur Oberlichter und es gibt keine Möglichkeit zum Frühstück mit Ausblick. Fur Tagesaufenthalte eher wenig geeignet. ALs Ausgangspunkt zur Erkundung von Washington und Umgebung sehr gut gelegen.

Charlotte Perry was a dream to work with. She was always available to help with our questions. When a family emergency forced us to reschedule our trip, she was gracious and helpful. Charlotte really understands the ins and outs of Washington. She is a great resource! We look forward to working with her in the future.

Had a wonderful stay at River View. Great location right on the bus route. Made it very easy to get into DC. Loved the books. Close to the grocery, coffee, and shops. Denise was helpful.

This was a great location, very beautiful surrounding, quite near the library and shopping area. Denise and her family were very helpful. She gave us her library card to use if we wanted to get any printouts. Denise's personal library was also open to us and had a wonderful assortment of books. I really enjoyed my stay there....

What a fantastic place to stay in DC! Denise was a very friendly and attentive hostess who even left transport and library cards for us to use. The apartment was spacious and comfortable, but filled with such a fantastic collection of books we could barely drag ourselves away from them to see the capital! The shops and restaurants nearby are excellent (especially the wine store) as is the bus service which took us downtown in airconditioned comfort. After requesting a TV, one was provided for us with DVDs which, along with the books, kept us happily occupied when not out sightseeing. Just perfect...

My dealings with Charlotte were excellent. Charlotte was always very efficient in responding to any emails I sent and she had a very good knowledge of Washington DC and she always answered the many questions I initially had when making the booking. The River View accommodation we stayed in had everything we needed. The accommodation is in actual fact a basement and because of this you will hear the owners of the house as they walk above you in their house. The location of the RIver View is excellent and we were able to catch the bus into the city easily, which was a very scenic journey (about a 30 minute bus ride). There was a nearby Safeway and chemist and lots of places to eat at. We would highly recommend a restaurant called Salt and Pepper which was about a 10-15 minute walk from the RIver Run (or only a few minutes in the car). Denise the owner of the house is extremely pleasant and friendly to deal with and like Charlotte also had a great knowledge of Washington DC to offer.

We had a great time at the Riverview...it is a wonderful neighbourhood, very convenient and a wonderful area to get around from. Denise was beyond accommodating and I know anyone who stays at the unit will enjoy. We would certainly book again. kindest regards. Doug and Connie Gordon

It was a great experience stay at The Best of Washington, DC! Charlotte is so nice and friendly. The suit is so clean and beautiful. The location is so easy to get round in DC. YES, we will go back!

The Pallisades area which is just west of Georgetown is a charming, safe and quaint neighborhood. The unit Pallisades Plush was truly as it was advertised. The unit was immaculate. The facilities, including the kitchen & laundry were impecible. The queen sized bed was very comfortable. The list of "House Rules" which was emailed to us contained many valuable suggestions for sights and just getting around Washington DC. I will admit taking the taxi the first day from Union Station was a bit daunting as we left Washington DC. John & I were determined to use public transportation during our visit. As it turns out the D6 bus stop which is located across the street from the unit will get you to and from all of the Washington DC sites. It was reliable and the entire transportation system is clean & well run. We purchased Smart trip transportation cards in advance which are very convenient to use. We certainly had privacy and felt safe in the area. We would leave early and return usually after dark. Some days we would combine the bus route with the Metro to get us to our destination. For our return to Union Station we were confident enough that we used the D6 bus to take us & our luggage. The cost? For John & I to Union Station was $3. (The Taxi on the way to the Pallisades cost $30.) Again if you are arriving by Amtrak and purchased a sleeping car fare, you can check your luggage in the Aceola Louge in Union Station for free just by showing your Amtrak ticket proving that you had the sleeping car accommodation coming to Washington DC. For those driving an automobile, my suggestion would be to drive to a Metro station that has parking available and then use the Metro to get to your destination in Washington DC.

This comfortable apartment is as beautiful as it looks in the photos. Very well fitted with many thoughtful extra touches. The kitchen and bathroom are newly fitted and especially good. Situated in a quiet forested suburb, a car would be ideal as there is street parking, however it is also very accessible by public transport. We did not have a car but the bus route is a short walk and runs every 20 mins into Georgetown, Du Pont circle and Downtown. The owners are really hospitable and friendly, ready to help and give local maps and advice. We enjoyed our 4day visit, the choice of local restaurants is great, with Starbucks and shops also only a short walk away. It was like home away from home and we would love to return on another visit.

We enjoyed our stay in Charlotte's B&B very much. It was in a lovely area, very peaceful and quiet and felt very private as it had its own entrance and faced onto the back garden. The room and facilities were clean and comfortable and it was a nice place to come back to after a day's sightseeing. Charlotte is a delightful person and did everything she could to make our stay enjoyable and could give us some good tips about local restaurants and places to visit. We can highly recommend this B&B.

The DuPont Circle Retreat is exactly that! A wonderful retreat! One evening after walking miles, we were so hungry that we got Pizza from the place on P Street, got some beverages at a grocery on P Street, and walked the 1/2 block to the apartment and had the best relaxing dinner on the patio. We left on an adventure every day. The metro was easy to navigate, but frequently we just walked the entire way to our destination...the Smithsonian... the Kennedy Center... We felt comfortable and safe everywhere we went within miles of DuPont Circle. A wonderful stay, thank you! Charlotte was wonderful and extremely helpful via email prior to our stay, and our stay went smoothly. I would definitely stay here again, as the location was wonderful. The apartment was clean and comfortable.

The bird's nest is a charming room in a nice, quiet residential neighborhood. The studio is in pristine conditions and very clean. The manager, Matthias, was very prompt in answering all our enquiries and helpful in accommodating our needs for our arrival and departure schedules. Overall, I think it's the perfect location if you have a car - if you depend on public transportation you should be aware of the fact that the bus runs every 20 (weekdays) to 40 (sundays) minutes, and that the ride into town (through some pretty neighborhoods) takes 20 to 40 minutes, depending on traffic and the destination.

Charlotte is a fantastic host. She did everything she could to help and make our stay enjoyable. She had also clearly done all she could to address previous guests' concerns. Our experience was so great though, theses additions were not necessary. The condo was very tidy and comfortable with enough space for our group (3 adults and a 9month baby). Friends of ours had stayed with Charlotte before and she lived up to their recommendation.

Exceeded expectations as a host and made for a perfect stay in DC. I will definitely be contacting Charlotte the next time visiting.

In April, this native Washiontonian went back to Charlotte P and AirBnB for a repeat booking in DC. Through Charlotte, I was introduced to another wonderful property in my favorite neighborhood. The Riverview home was incredibly special—spacious, beautifully appointed, gorgeous location and my host, Denise, was just wonderful— so thoughtful at every turn. Thanks to Charlotte, I always look forward to my next trip back "home"!
