Upscale neighboorhood (Metro Colombia direct to airport,super convenient entrance right next to the building ). Lots of shops. 20min by public transport to downtown (direct bus or subway).

The non smoking room ,(16sqm/ 180sqfeet) with double bed , has lots of privacy with its own ensuite bathroom -inside the room- and a door with direct access to the huge sunny and full of plants terrasse(620 sq feet / 60 sqm)).

The room has as well Air Con / heating and Wifi.

Guests have full acces to the rest of the flat, including kitchen with all appliances (coffe machine, microwave, water boiler, dishwasher : no need to clean dishes!, etc...

Arturo and Simon were extremely welcoming to my girlfriend and I during our trip to Madrid. The proximity of his apartment to the airport, and the air conditioning are big pluses in our book. Also, having traveled elsewhere around Spain, having an elevator is also a big plus. The rate was extremely affordable, and Arturo definitely deserves the five star rating on this site. Two things to keep in mind when booking. First, while the Madrid metro is extremely convenient, Arturo's apartment isn't close to downtown Madrid. This may not matter to you, but as young-ish first time travelers to Madrid, we had some late nights coming back to the apartment. Despite that, I thought that being close to the airport was a nice compromise. Also, there isn't a lock on the door. This wasn't a huge deal for my girlfriend and me (hence the 5 star rating), but if that's going to bother you, keep it in mind.

Great room in non-touristy location. Convenient to the metro and has lots of tapas bars, bakeries, etc. nearby.

We only stayed here for one night unfortunately, but it was superb value for money. Clean, sunny and spacious with welcoming hosts. It is not in the city centre, but Madrid is easily navigated with the metro, so that isn't really an issue! Would definitely recommend!

Great host, great apartment! I had the bath to myself which was great. Neighborhood is safe and clean. Convenient store, bank, coffee shop and tapas bar nearby. It's so close you can crawl to it. Overall a great experience:) Also glad there is an elevator.

Perfect airbnb experience as all others say. Lots of reasonable cafes or places to buy prepared food to eat at home in area. Room with terrace and ensuite prefect. Easy to get to from airport and to go all around Madrid on the metro. Arturo and Simon are the perfect hosts, helpful and hospitable (loved Simons mint tea and thanks for use of computer and internet) but also you feel you have lots of privacy.

Myself and Kristy originally planned on staying with Arturo for only a week, but when our plans changed, Arturo was very open to working with our changing schedule. Arturo and Simon were very friendly and helpful throughout our ten day visit. Our room was very clean and well kept. The view is amazing and the location is perfect. We're going to be traveling around Europe for another four months, and were joking that Arturo set the standards so high that we highly doubt we're going to be able to do any better, and it's true! Thank you so much Arturo and Simon, you were both very gracious, helpful and respectful of our space. I would highly recommend you and your flat to anyone traveling who wants a quite place with a great views, wonderful/clean rooms, a respectful and honest atmosphere. Thank you so much for being such an outstanding host!

Great location - near the city centre but very much a local neigbourhood with bars,shops and restaurants. Metro and bus outside. Arturo & Simon are very courteous and helpful and the apartment has a great balcony where you can enjoy the warmth of the city. When the warmth gets TOO much you can retire to the air conditioned bedroom. Our visit coincided with Spain's victory in teh World Cup 2010 - what a party! Hope to return soon

Thanks to airbnb , we got to stay with most amazing hosts , Arturo and Simon ! very friendly and accomodating couple. We realy enjoyed our stay in their place. We stayed for 3 nights in room 2 and another 3 nights in room 1 at the end of our trip to Spain. The location is perfect, right next to the metro Colombia station with a direct line to the airport. We felt at home with Arturo as he was very generous leting us use his laptop , full use of kitchen and the lovely terrace. They were even courteous enough to share some delicious tomato soup for us on an evening , which we consumed in no time upon our return to the place ! join for an event That !! It was my first airbnb experience and I am so happy we went for it.Now we have 2 new friends, our hosts in madrid, Arturo and Simon. Thanks again.

Nice room (#2), nice guys. The apt. is very easy to reach from airport but the subway to most central locations requires a change from one line to another so it is a tiny bit longer than I expected. Quiet, great night's sleep.

We had the good fortune to be able to stay for an entire week in the large room with the terrace. It was beautiful, the equivalent of staying in a five star hotel. The location couldn't be better. The Metro stop from the airport is directly in front of their apartment building, and then it's an easy subway or bus ride into the center of Madrid. Arturo was a very gracious host, and was very patient in answering all of our questions. I doubt if you will be able to find a better deal on a place to stay in Madrid.

My stay at Arturo & Simon's was very comfortable and convenient with no complaints! Arturo was excellent at being in contact for travel plans and I was greeted by both he and Simon at the door with a warm welcome into their beautiful flat. The location is perfect (safe & quiet) while you have easy access to metro just steps from their front door. Their generosity in letting me use the computer to check my travel plans, communicate with friends in the city, etc. was greatly appreciated as well! The room was lovely, clean, very comfortable, and private. I would recommend staying at Arturo & Simon's in Madrid any night!

Five Star Accomodation. Five Star Easy Access to and from Barajas Airport or MAD just four stop at Metro Train station to Colombia station and your are literally in-the-front of his beautiful 7th floor with an elevator Flat! Arturo is a Five Star Host, he will let you use his computer, kitchen, living room, complete bath-room, and big nice veranda or terrace over-looking nice view of the street and mountains with lots of other structure view - we took picture on the veranda or terrace since it is on the very top floor - fantastic! Very comfortable bed, very big and spacious room with wooden floor, very very secure building with day greeter in the lobby. Arturo will give you two keys, one to access the building (nice beautiful building) another one to his flat. The metro train is so easy to get around, not so confusing like Paris and London. I would definitely come stay at Arturo's place when time comes to visit Madrid again! He speaks English Fluently, soooooooooo accomodating and truly a FIVE STAR EXPERIENCE with his Flat! No, I do not know him personally but his down to earth approach to FIRST TIME VISITORS plus his FIVE STAR accomodation deserve the 5Star Award! God Bless you Arturo and MUCHAS GRACIAS por todos!!!

We had a great stay at Arturo's Apt. Him and Simon are very pleasant, we really enjoyed chatting over a few glasses of wine. Very nice, clean and trendy apt, the metro is a few meters to the lest of the apt. the bus stop to go to the centro is across the street, up the block. The Wifi worked well. the bed is very comfortable, with the jet lag we overslept a few times. The area is lovely, and very safe. We highly recommend staying with them. Thanks Arturo !!!!!!!

What a lovely flat and what lovely hosts! My best friend and I rented room2 and found it very comfortable. The terrace is awesome. The location is great...just steps from the metro, lots of shops and good restaurants, and still very quiet and laid back. Arturo and Simon are super guys and were always there for a recommendation, info, or just laughs. They don't hover...we had plenty of time to ourselves in the apt. All in all, we had a blast and would 100% recommend this flat to any traveler.
