The space

Please note, I don't accept reservations more than 3 months in advance...

The Townhouse is a beautiful & light-filled duplex apartment in a landmarked rowhouse in Brooklyn's booming Greenpoint Historic District, on the riverfront just north of bustling Williamsburg. Walk to the Bedford "L" subway stop, or just a few blocks from the Greenpoint "G" stop. East River Ferry service (with multiple stops in Brooklyn, Manhattan, and Queens) is ~5 blocks from the house, on the India Street waterfront. Plenty of restaurants, bars, boutiques, cafes, galleries, banks, gyms, etc all within blocks.

1000 interior square feet.

Lower Floor: kitchen and full bathroom (shower) with open living/dining area
Upper Floor: bedroom, master bathroom (6' clawfoot tub & 2 sinks) and office with lofted guest sleeping alcove

Very quiet tree-lined residential street. Full kitchen with gas stove, oven and full-size refrigerator, microwave and dishwasher. Television with satellite cable & DVR. This sunny home is furnished with a variety of antiques and modern accessories.

Bedroom has a Queen size bed, guest loft has a Double bed. Window air conditioning unit in the bedroom, ceiling fans throughout the house.

Laundry (washer & dryer) in basement.

WiFi :-)

*Please note: this is a duplex apartment with an OPEN STAIRWELL and open guest loft; renter accepts the property as-is and acknowledges that it is likely not suited for small children or anyone requiring a handrail.

Also, I own an antique store and do design projects, so every now & then pieces of furniture get swapped out or moved around within the apartment. The pictures in the photo gallery are completely accurate for the space itself as well as an indication of my style, but individual items periodically change.

**PLEASE NOTE: under NO circumstances is there to be any shooting/filming of any kind on the premises. I do periodically rent my spaces as locations for film & photo projects, but never at the standard Airbnb rate and never without a Certificate of Insurance. If you are interested in shooting, please provide me with all of your project details and we can potentially come to an agreement. Any unsanctioned shooting will be heavily penalized.

House Rules

Check in is anytime after 2PM

Everything at the house is pretty straight-forward. I'll ask you to please adhere to local recycling rules, and will provide the proper receptacles. NYC takes recycling seriously & issues fines to landlords whose garbage & recycling aren't properly sorted; it's your obligation to adhere to the sorting rules, if not the fine will be applied to your Airbnb security deposit.

Check-in is at 2 pm and check-out at 11am but I try to be flexible depending on everyone's schedule; let's coordinate directly.

You are more than welcome to have a friend or two over and I certainly want you to make yourself at home and enjoy your stay, but please no parties & no strangers :-) This is a historic neighborhood of rowhouses so please also be respectful of the neighbors, all of whom are very nice (close front door quietly rather than slamming, etc).

NO shooting/NO filming

What a peaceful retreat this apartment is. Very spacious, very quiet, great decor! I loved the claw foot bath tub in the morning light and the artistic details of the apartment made it feel authentic to Brooklyn. The bed was super cozy. I would stay here again!

This is a special hideaway in a great location -- only a few blocks from Peter Pan bakery with the best donuts in the USA (and great breakfast sandwiches). Wonderful coffee shop two short blocks away. Easy walk to subway. Yet location is super quiet and the beds super cozy. We celebrated Thanksgiving here and not only did the kitchen work perfectly but we played board games in the comfy living room. Note what Maya says about the stairs - they are beautiful but without handrails! Maya was easy to reach and super helpful. We loved the whole experience and definitely hope to be back again.

Maya was very accommodating! For guests who are familiar with the neighborhood, the apartment is ideally located; the location can't be beat. If you are not familiar with Greenpoint, I can't think of a better place to stay if you are looking to get better acquainted with our favorite neighborhood in Brooklyn and perhaps all of NYC. Maya's guidebook is spot on for recommendations. I would add: Achilles Heel for drinks/dinner, Early for coffee/breakfast and Habitat for beer/wings.
