The Art-Hotel is a beautiful gayfriendly B&B on a small, newly developed island in Amsterdam (Java eiland), close to the city centre. Public transport from Central Station is easily accessible.

The B&B is a big apartment, in which I live as well. The room has great canal views.

The room is available from Monday until Sunday. Breakfast is only available in the weekend. Please note that check ins on Mon/Tue/Thu/Fri are after 4.00 PM or must be arranged beforehand.

I can absolutely recommend this place to stay while in Amsterdam. The host is very friendly and helpful. The room is very spacious and the bed is comfortable. The bathroom is just across the room and you'll get a lot of privacy. If your stay in Amsterdam is work-related keep in mind that there is no desk in the room. Overall it is a very clean, welcoming and peaceful place to stay!

Robert was a wonderful host. I found the apartment to be comfortable, unique, and convenient. Located on a quiet island just 20 mins walk (or 5 mins on the bus) from Amsterdam Centraal, the flat provides a great get away from the noisy and tourist-congested city center. At the end of my day, I always enjoyed the trip home and found my accommodations to be immediately peaceful and relaxing.

Robert is a wonderful host. A very easy-going, helpful and friendly person. He made me feel very welcomed and made sure I was comfortable with my room and all the amenities. Robert's home is clean and very spacious. It's just 5 bus stops from Centraal Station. The great thing about staying on Java Eiland is that it's quiet and peaceful but it's also very close to all the action. Bonus: Breakfast on the weekends was very nice touch. I would definitely recommend him. His Art-Hotel was a great choice for my first time out with Air BNB.

Robert is a great host! He made me feel like I was at home. Robert has a keen sense for style and design. The apartment is well kept and decorated and the walls display some of Robert's great artwork. The room I rented was really comfortable. The apartment is a short bus ride to Centraal Station. We had a lovely time at Rob's! The location was perfect for us. It's a five minute bike ride (or ten minute tram) to downtown, but the island neighborhood is a delightful retreat. He's in the middle of a quiet and beautiful mixed-use neighborhood, steps away from the harbor and island bars and cafes. His apartment is spacious, allowing plenty of privacy, and very clean. He made us feel welcome and comfortable. He suggested places to visit, and even took us on a bike tour of sites featuring art deco in town.

Robert is a very nice and helpful person and he does everything to make you feel like at home. The place is 10min bus dirve from Central Station but at the same time very quiet and peacful. The Room is fabulous -very spacious and clean. The only drawback is the light. When it is dark outside or if you with to close the curtain (to have some privacy) than there is sufecient light in the room. Overall I truly recommend the place.

Very easy to reach from the Central station but arrived on site...I had some difficulties to find the # 6 door...but once I did (with help), it's OK. Robert is kind and the room is large with a cute view to the canal. The place is very peaceful and clean. That is a great deal because accomodation in Amsterdam downtown is stressful...so noisy! Lighting in the room is too faint to my own taste and if you like reading in bed as I do...it is not too comfortable.It is only the 'weak point' I felt during my short stay. Robert must certainly be a very gifted cooker...He made delicious brownies!! I recommand it to everyone...
