About this listing
Townhouse with two to three bedrooms in a neighbourhood with lots of restaurants, cafés, and shops, close to downtown. There is easy street parking and a private parking spot. This listing is for long stays, with or without the presence of the host.
**Before inquiring to stay with me, please make sure that you have filled in your profile with a photo, where you are from, who you may be travelling with, and something interesting about yourself.** Openness of information is important to me.
Three bedrooms upstairs, a main floor mostly open-concept with a kitchen, dining room and living room, and downstairs is a family entertainment room with an office space, and a laundry room.
Unless we are making an arrangement whereby you stay with me while I am on premises - which, as a single person, couple, or small family is an option - you would be renting out the whole house for a period of 21 days or more, you have access to everything that is not storage. The garage can be used to store your bikes and extras, however there is no space for your car inside. I will not be clearing it out. You may park directly in front of the driveway on the street, taking care not to block the neighbour's access to their parking spot.
Interaction with guests
I or a very good friend will be here when you arrive to give you the orientation. I will be available by telephone or email to support you when I am travelling.
The neighbourhood has many good restaurants in different price ranges. Some are upscale. There are also two trendy pubs. The Lachine Canal provides you a nice walk, as well as many other historical sites on the way to Old Montreal. A short walk up the hill takes you to the heart of downtown in 20 minutes.
There is easy on-street parking, though the driveway may also be available. The metro is 400 m away, with a lot of bus lines all over the city and west island, including the 747 bus direct to and from the airport.
Other things to note
**Before inquiring to stay with me, please make sure that you have filled in your profile with a photo, where you are from, who will be coming with you, and something interesting about yourself.** Openness of information is important to me.
Smoking is outside, preferably the back deck. I have a suitable ashtray.
Don't bring outside guests here without asking permission IN ADVANCE. *If you do this, I will give you a one-star (out of five) rating on communication and following house rules* - or I won't review you at all. I prefer to review people who have no previous reviews as it helps them book future accommodations.
Turn off all the lights when you go to bed at night. Conserve energy. I talk about this elswhere when you book. I may be rigorous about this, but I'm always surprised that people don't already do this as a habit. Also, AC. I only use it on days above 30ºC, only when people are home, and prefer using the "dehumidifier" setting first.
Music is certainly welcome, but be quiet after 11 pm - midnight.
Pets are welcome. Some pet habits or pet owner habits may need to be constrained, however. The house is usually occupied by two rabbit overlords.
Friendly, loves to listen and talk (but not so much about herself), pragmatic, idealistic with a broad realistic stripe, likes to wear cowboy hats and kerchiefs (but not at the same time), wears the work boots around these parts, cooks and cleans and talks to animals every day, sings. In others words, she's the best kind of peasant broad (or Disney® princess) there is. She reads (mostly) tough books and writes a blog, and is presently organizing a start-up (two, actually) with respect to project management and sustainability (green retrofitting).
