  • My wife and I stayed here one night, in order to be near the start of a running race we had entered the next morning. We had trouble sleeping with the constant traffic outside the window, and bright lights. There are no drapes or curtains, which makes for a pretty light bedroom at all hours of the night. Otherwise the place was as described, and very interesting with all the books around. Sarah was a great host and the gift certificate for the nearby bakery was much appreciated!

  • Sarah was a fantastic host. She was there to greet me when I arrived, took me through all the details of her adorable place, and made herself available for any issues that may come up. Her place is an an up and coming and funky part of Toronto, with tons of great galleries, cafes and bars in the area. And the place itself? Amazing! Sarah clearly has an eye for funky design. Several of my Instagrams of her place got oohs and aaahs galore! And in person? It was such a treat! Highly recommend Sarah's place. Great value and a fantastic experience overall.

  • Sarah's beautifully furnished space with skylights, a big bay window and balcony was the perfect home base for us this past weekend. For travelers unfamiliar with Toronto - Sarah's neighbourhood is exactly where you want to be if you like being very close to the action but not quite in the thick of it. Sarah is super nice and accommodating in person, having left us with plenty of reading material and personal suggestions. We highly recommend staying at her apartment if it is available. Thanks again!

  • Indeed, we would agree that the photos don't do this cute and cheerful apartment justice! We had a wonderful time at Sarah's place. The location is excellent (hip restaurants, coffee shops, art galleries and vintage shops nearby + great access to street cars, busses and subway + very affordable parking), and the apartment mirrors the flair of its neighbourhood (unique vintage furniture, clean, bright and sunny). Sarah and her boyfriend who both coordinated our arrival and departure respectively are great people. Sarah is a total charm - she gave us plenty of information, maps, lists of cool hangouts, and even a gift certificate to a nearby bakery. A wonderful stay - we will definitely be staying here again!!

  • Sarah was a very good host, met me at street level to welcome me to her apartment. Very friendly, interesting library, which she was happy to share. I'd return to Cute apartment next time in Toronto, enjoyed being able to cook my meals, invite in friends for lunch or tea. Great neighborhood.

  • Sarah's apartment is just as she describes - cute and cheerful. It's also very well located - convenient to shops and cafes, the lake, and a streetcar directly to downtown. A lovely place to stay, I'd definitely go back. And Sarah was great with communication and tips for my stay. A+ experience!

  • This is a lovely, clean and creative space! I rented it for a few days for my sister and she thoroughly enjoyed her stay. Sarah was a pleasure to get to know and was extremely flexible and helpful. The location is easy to access by the TTC and very close to many funky eating and shopping spots.

  • My girlfriend and I stayed in Sarah's apartment for 2 nights. It is a great location-- close to vintage shopping and bars, and right on the streetcar line. Sarah was a gracious host-- she gave excellent recommendations and had a very interesting book collection. We enjoyed meeting her and checking out Toronto.

Sarah's apartment was full of the most interesting books. The cafe place downstairs has great coffee and scones and sarah gave me coupons for breakfast there! The bed was comfy and I slept well. thanks Sarah!

  • Sarah helped us figure out where we were at and how to get around in the city, as well as some hip spots close to the place we could check out. The space is really cool, awesome collection of vintage finds and interesting books. Close to some cool shops and bars, and right around the corner from the tram that can get you right to the subway.

More about the host
  • About: / General Description I'm nothing if not diverse: I'm an "arty-type" (whatever that might mean) atmospheric chemist who spent the last year working in a gallery. Since the spring, I've seen Will Oldham in London and Roni Horn in Avignon; cycled in the Camargue and climbed to the pilgrimage site at El Calvario in Copacabana, Bolivia; sampled air quality at the Tate in London and sampled anchovies in Valencia; worked as a researcher in Lyon; and, last but not least, bought vintage furniture in Leslieville. Also, I'm known to make very, very good banana bread. / General Interests minimalism (Flavin/Judd) tiny-town America and Route 66 languages (Spanish, these days) my NYT/Guardian/CBC online reading rotation bicycling Bolivia Parkdale (Toronto) urban issues Margaret Laurence / Carol Shields / etc. etc. contemporary art CanCon (Ron McLean, the Inbreds, CBC Radio 3, etc.) running brunching skating, poorly vintage furniture cheap'n'cheerful sushi / And some more When I remember that summer, that dull, stupid, lovely, dire summer, it seems that in those days I ate my lunches, smelled another's skin, noticed a shade of yellow, even simply sat, with greater lust and hopefulness--and that I lusted with greater faith, hoped with greater abandon. The people I loved were celebrities, surrounded by rumor and fanfare; the places I sat with them, movie lots and monuments. No doubt all of this is not true remembrance but the ruinous work of nostalgia, which obliterates the past, and no doubt, as usual, I have exaggerated everything. -- The Mysteries of Pittsburgh We don't have to be stars exploding in the night Or electric eels under the covers -- The Magnetic Fields Amie, whatcha want to do?
