  If you are just looking for somewhere to stay while you are in NYC, then this is a good place for you. When we first arrived there, it felt a little bit weird, as the neighborhood was a kind of sketchy, and the building was old, but the room was totally fine. It was not new, but very clean and decently comfortable. The two shared bathrooms are pretty clean, but they were rather occupied in the morning, which could be a problem if you had a strict schedule. Overall we enjoyed our stay at the inn, and I would like to live there next time we go to NYC.

  I didnt know that there is Halem...... and we had to move room...twice.........!! and..... except that....good.... but I think its dangerous at night....!

  We had a wonderful time in the apartment. Because we told David in advance that we were traveling with our toddler son, he first told us that he would put us in a bed with a king-sized bed (though we had originally booked a queen-sized bed. Then he offered us a 1-bedroom apartment at a nearby location instead for a $20 upgrade fee. The apartment turned out to be fabulous! Plenty of space for a toddler to run around in, and all the amenities you could ask for. The mattress was a bit too soft for my liking, but my husband and son had no problems with it. What I loved was how clean the apartment was. Outside in the stairwell, it's not so clean so the contrast is quite stark but I understand that the building's common areas are outside David's control. Inside the apartment, everything was fine. And the location of the building in Harlem couldn't have been better with easy access to restaurants and cafes and the subway. Thanks for a great visit, David!

  The rooms are clean and there is a regular cleaning service. However, two baths/toilets being shared between the occupants of 6 roo(email hidden)umber of actual occupants is much more since most of the rooms have more than one occupancy) is too much particularly at peak hours! Staff is polite. The washing machine and the dryers are only for the housekeeping and not for the guest, came as a surprise. Location is convenient from the Sub station.

  We get 7 e mails in advance. Reminders again and again to call, code numbers, key location, how to operate the code, not to leave suitcases in foyer, etc. Arrive to the sight of both outside doors wide open. Abberaton? Get up next day, come downstairs to both outside doors wide open. But clean rom, firm mattress, no complaints, just a bit confused on the "security" issue.

  Got a much larger room than expected and had a lovely stay for one night. It was a room facing 116 which can be noisy until late at night. The TV was not hooked up, and internet connections was very on and off. Otherwise very clean and comfortable (could use a few more bathrooms), great for the price. Will come again.

  Absolutely wonderful! Picked up the key no problems, everyone was nice. The apartment was very clean and cozy. The shower was awesome and the other people staying were very nice and friendly. The people we were who were there at the same time gave us food and we all helped with dishes. Overall my friend and I had a wonderful time!

  The 'apartment' is in a fantastic location - right in the heart of Williamsburg. And it had an okay air conditioner. And there was a couch, a fridge, enough beds, and a shower. Otherwise, it was a bit of a disappointing experience. We arrived to a room full of children (miscommunication) - which is not what we expected after a 24 hour flight and 6 hour wait in the airport until morning! David never spoke to us directly - we were helped by very nice women, but they weren't really sure what was going on. The cleaner came on the day but acted very confused - I had to spell out what we wanted done. The mop was "broken" so the floors felt dirty for our whole stay. She told us she came twice a week, but she did not come back once in 12 days! Please be aware, this is a day-care centre usually. It does not have any cooking facilities or cooking utensils. The "bedroom" is unventilated and very hot in summer. There is also a prayer room next door, which can get noisy on the Sabbath. People came in a few times over our stay to collect things to use next door... To reiterate, this is a fantastic area, and you are getting what you pay for. Do not expect to be able to cook anything, and try to make it clear with David if you are unhappy (we felt sorry for all the women trying to be nice to us and didn't want to cause a scene). I bought the vintage lamp for the bedroom (no overhead light), you're welcome. All the best, and enjoy NYC!

  Refocuses these holidays I was with my family in New York, we were in an apartment in Harlem, right in the street 119 west, which was leased to David Levenson, who personally and through his help Luchiana gave us the support necessary to take advantage of better apartment and the city. In relation to the apartment, was all furnished with TV, internet and air conditioning, clean and in good condition, to accommodate a couple and two daughters of 13 and 14 years of age, a lower middle class neighborhood, but served with transport in public (subway and bus), and supermarket located 5 blocks from the famous Central Park and Columbia University.

  Great Communication from David and Cleaning staff. Place is Hostel Style Living with your own key to room and a safe in room. (Hostels provide budget oriented, sociable accommodation where guests can rent a bed, sometimes a bunk bed, in a dormitory and share a bathroom) The only complaint I had was that the 2 bathrooms were always in use, and you had to really time your effort to get in there to shower. Maybe they can figure out how to give access to bathrooms in both apartments...

  we really enjoyed our stay; the room in the appartement was nice and comfortable, kitchen usefull, bathrooms cleaned everydays, wifi, supermarket downstairs open 7 am to 11 pm, and subway and central park just nearby. Will surely come again. We just hade some difficulties to contact Luchiana when we arrived from airport as we didn't know there was a telephone in the appartement.

  This place offers great value! I was a little bit worried when I got off the train and saw that the street the property was on looked a bit dogdy, and the stairwell looked a bit dodgy. When you actually open the door to the apartment it is really nice inside. There was a nice chill out area with a huge kitchen and lounge. The free wifi was fantastic and extremely fast, and the rooms were air conditioned. The mattress in the bedroom was extremely comfortable. The place is located very very close to a subway line, and it's around 15-20 minutes to Times Square. You could get a bit closer to the city if you wanted to spend heaps more money. I think the thing I liked most about this place is you could tell the owners had put in little finishing touches that they didn't have to do. For example the mattress had a really nice foam topper on the top. The showers were really nice. They could have done things the 'cheap' way and made more money, but they have put in an effort to make it more nice and comfortable.

  Not a horrible experience, but it was a bit bothersome to come back after midnight to a note on my door not to go in because they had confused the rooms. It wasn't a huge inconvenience, but they could have called to let me know. Moving my bags without talking to me is not cool.

  We stayed 6 nights in the appartment of david and were a little disappointed. We got a very small room with a bunkbed instead of a normal double bed. There were too little bathrooms and you had to wait quite some time in the morning to get a shower. The kitchen and bathrooms were fairly clean. It is quite far from the city centre, +/- 15 min by subway. It is not in a neighbourhood you enjoy walking around at night, but the appartment is just 30 meters from the subway, so thats ok.

  I thought the accomodations were fair and location terrific during my night stay. The rooms vary in size and bathroom is shared with 4+ other occupants. One side has a nice sit down area, and basic kitchen neccessities. I thought the stay was OK for the price (50/person) and would consider them again.

  Booked the room for my parents and they really had a great stay..!!.....Clean apartment and good services.....David was friendly and helpful.....they've booked another room with him to stay a few more days....Highly recommended!
