Garden Room w/Gourmet Breakfast

Stephanie and Tom are very generous and hospitable hosts. We were very comfortable in our charming room and handy to an excellent bus service into the city. Stephanie and Tom your breakfasts were superb and set us up very well for our days of sightseeing in Pittsburgh .

We really enjoyed our visit to Pittsburgh. The two breakfasts were delicious and it was extra nice to have the New York Times on Sunday. The house is wonderful and the hosts very friendly. Thank you.

It was a bit if a trek up to the third floor with our luggage, but it was difinitely worth it. The Garden Room is of modest size but quite adequate for two. Nice private bath. Nicely decorated and clean. Great array of books all about the house. Our hosts Stephanie and Tom were very gracious and were content to leave us to ourselves but shared conversation at appropriate times. The pets definitely made themselves known but we weren't bothered by it. If you want Pittsburgh at a bargain price look no further! John and Wendy Bloomington, IN

Our stay with Stephanie exceeded our expectations. Both she and her husband were wonderful hosts and the accomodations were 5 star. On the first night our daughter, who was visiting Pitt, stayed in the Parasol Room so we had a 3rd floor suite which worked out perfectly. Breakfast was delicious and included such special touches we felt like royalty. If ever in Pittsburgh again, we'll definitely be back at Stephanie's.

They were wonderful. Tom greeted me at the door I was a little late and tired when I arrive. He could not have been nicer. Beautiful tasty breakfast with fresh flowers. I will most defiantly return if I get the opportunity.

Comfortable home in a delightful little neighborhood. Wonderfully easy to find our way around Pittsburg from that location. Room/bed were comfortable, and the breakfast each morning was really nice.

I really enjoyed my stay at Tom and Stephanie’s place. The room was exactly as shown on the picture. I had the whole floor for myself as they were not any other guests at the same time. The room and bathroom were very clean and comfortable and I appreciated the fast wifi connection. Tom provided me with a code for the entrance which allowed me to come and go freely, which was very convenient as I usually came back very late at night. The breakfast was prepared every morning and was very copious. I enjoyed a very nice and quiet stay and will certainly consider coming back in Tom and Stephanie’s place for a future stay in Pittsburgh.

We loved our short stay with Stephanie and Tom! Lovely hosts and they have made efforts to be green (e.g. soap dispensers, tankless water heater). Anytime we return to Pittsburgh, we will certainly stay here.

This was our second time staying with Stephanie and Tom, and we had another lovely stay. The garden room is a very pleasant space: the bed is comfortable, there is a cozy sitting area, and the shelves are filled with an excellent and eclectic collection of books. Useful information about the area is provided in the room as well, which is a nice touch for guests unfamiliar with Pittsburgh. The house, located in one of my favorite parts of the city, is charming, and Stephanie is just a fabulous cook. I'd be very happy staying here every time I visited Pittsburgh.

Stephanie and her husband, Bill were outstanding hosts and the accomodations went beyond what we expected. The rooms were beautifully decorated and impeccably clean. Beds were extremely comfortable which was very important to us because my husband has a bad back. On street parking was never a problem. We were there for a weekend college visit and the drive to the college was easy with only one right turn necessary from her street to Forbes which leads directly to Carnegie-Mellon and Pitt. Breakfast...OMG...gourmet and delicious. Should our daughter choose Pitt, she can expect to see us for the next 4 years :)

Wonderful 2-night stay in the Parasol Room with Gourmet Breakfast! Tom and Stephanie are intelligent, very thoughtful hosts with great attention to detail in the room decor and breakfast offering. I felt truly pampered and relaxed. I was in town for a wedding the first day at the nearby Pittsburgh Center for the Arts. The second day, I toured all around Pittsburgh: the National Aviary, the Andy Warhol Museum, dinner on "The Strip" and a nearby film series. So much to do in that city! Tom and Stephanie's neighborhood is delightful, near Shadyside and Squirrel Hill with the University of Pittsburgh and Carnegie Mellon. The weekend's very nourishing hot meal was like a gourmet restaurant, beautifully presented and accounted for my special food needs which Stephanie asked about before-hand, which was great. The weekday happened to be busy for us all, and yet they presented a beautiful breakfast that I could take in my own time. The rooms were all immaculately clean. THEIR PETS ARE JUST FINE. A different reviewer made a comment about the dog's barking which I found extremely unfair. Austin is a super-friendly, well-behaved dalmation who greets with a bark while wagging his tail (the first time), THEN SETTLED RIGHT DOWN. And I didn't hear him at all during the night, as their bedrooms are on a top floor and he's with the couple on a lower floor. The 2 cats are handsome and no problem whatsoever. I saw one once and that was it. So I disagree with the other reviewer who warned folks off of this location because of the dog's barking. It was perfectly appropriate to greeting a newcomer and no continuing problem. THESE FOLKS KNOCK THEMSELVES OUT TO ENSURE A GOOD STAY FOR VISITORS. Very classy experience in a beautiful neighborhood of Pittsburgh. LOVED IT.

We had a great time in Pittsburgh! Although we tried to cram everything into a short stay, the rooms we so comfortable, we spent a fair amount of time napping -- much needed rest, though. Stephanie and Tom were very friendly and helpful, especially when we needed wrenches to fix our bikes. The cats were cool, and the dog was always eager to see us. And breakfast was great (to-go coffee cups for our drive home!). I can't tell you how many books they had to peruse, a veritable library of every good book ever made! I would definitely recommend this place to anyone, as long as they like animals.

I adored staying in Tom and Stephanie's glorious, yet quaint, dollhouse and 'petting zoo' (yes, I am an animal lover). The AC unit in my room cooled me down fantastically before hitting the sack. I slept wonderfully each night, and awoke to a 5-star breakfast in their beautifully and authentically decorated front room. Such a treat for all the senses! This has got to be the best airbnb 'deal' in the 'burgh...

Was very well located and convenient. Around the corner from bus stops and quaint S. Braddock with many restaurants to choose from and a great park to explore.

This was our third stay with Stephanie, and it was a nice experience, as always. We will keep coming back!

Wonderful accommodations! I'm familiar w/ the neighborhood and it is a nice quiet part of the neighborhood and a few blocks away from some nice coffeeshops and bars. Great bed and breakfast experience, wonderful food, clean towels even a few items to help you get around (bottled water, umbrella). Austin the dalmatian was friendly but had a glimmer of defensiveness in his demeanor and barked a lot. I wouldn't recommend for children or if you have a fear of dogs.

Stephanie and Tom were great hosts! We were in town for a wedding and it was so luxurious to have a home to go back to instead of a sterile hotel room. Our breakfast was delicious--especially the rosemary bread--and Stephanie even packed us "to-go" breakfasts when we had to get on the road early Monday morning. Thank you for everything, I'll definitely recommend the Doll House to friends visiting Pittsburgh!

Stephanie and Tom were great hosts, and the suite is highly recommended! Two of us were traveling together and we both wanted our own rooms--the 3rd floor suited our needs perfectly! Great neighborhood, ample parking and just a few minutes walk to the stop to catch a bus headed downtown. Breakfasts in the morning were lovely. Will definitely be back!

Stephanie is a great hostess with special skills in cooking, decorating, and making people welcome. She is also a great person. Ask her about things to do in the area--she's active in the commmunity.
