Bedroom In a large Victorian Home

Chip’s place is amazing. If you like funky-old-Victorian-eclectic, it’s a treasure! Three floors filled with antiques. And Chip is a wonderful host. It’s like a real old-fashioned B&B – with a comfy bed in a charming room, a garden across the street, and delicious breakfast! A crazy bargain. I would have stayed a second night if I didn’t have other commitments. Easy bus ride to/from downtown, with a convenient stop a few blocks from the train station.

Chip was a great host and he prepared amazing breakfast and he even drove me to downtown in the morning, which was so nice of him

This was my first AirBnB. It was great,Chip has a beautiful home that is well maintained,nice gardens too. His breakfast was over the top,some farmhouse yogurt,granola and he even made fresh fruit salad.The bedroom was quiet,and the bed nice and firm. So defintely better than Hotels.com! Dave

I had a lovely stay at Chip's! I felt taken care of, but not intruded upon. The house was full of interesting old objects, and breakfast was tasty. The house is a little too far from downtown to walk, and the neighborhood was probably not safe at night, so I learned how to use the (very easy!) Providence bus system.

Chip was exceptionally courteous. He picked me up from the airport and even though I was really busy with work, we caught a bit over conversations in the hallway. The house is gorgeous and Chip is an excellent host. Highly recommended

This has been my second stay at Chip's place and it was again, such a pleasure. This was booked a day before and Chip was very responsive in getting back to me. If you want to stay in a unique home and be hosted by someone who exemplifies hospitality, I highly recommend this listing. The breakfast is also something wonderful to see on your way out the door.

What a lovely place to come home to after a long day! I stayed two nights and will definitely stay again if I'm ever back in Providence. I don't know how to say it without sounding strange, but there's a really good juju in this house. I was comfortable and felt very safe despite the slightly dodgy neighborhood and as a woman traveling alone. Gorgeous breakfast and thoughtful extras, like fresh coffee waiting on your way to the bathroom in the morning, comfortable room, kind host, and beautiful house make this spot a winner! I had a fine 3-night stay in this gorgeous old house. Very comfortable bed and lots of personal space, nice breakfast with fresh fruit. I am supremely sensitive to mold and mildew and I can tell you there was NONE there. The house is stuffed with amazing articles from all over the world, always plenty to look at, but definitely a place that people live in, not a lifeless museum. Would definitely stay there again.

Spent one night in the house. Was a great room with a nice breakfast provided. Mr. Bass even offered to drive me to the airport. Didn't seem like the safest neighborhood during the night, but felt fine walking around during the day. Overall a great stay.

Chip is a very gracious and thoughtful host. Grand old home with charming furninshings. Comfortable bed and and excellent breakfast. Good value.

An amazing house in an amazing city, like walking back through time. Lots of little touches and I just wish I could have explored the house some more, not to mention the goodies in the fridge. (Chip: the shoes are for St Vincent de Paul / rubbish, too far gone to be lugged round the world. Many thanks Angela

I've known Chip for a number of years. He has extraordinary properties and is a generous, always interesting host and a great cook. His large Victorian is filled with gorgeous fabrics, art, furniture, hand crafted mirrors, etc. from his travels around the world. Interesting people too... He's created a series of beautiful gardens outside each property too...
