Separate private guest house nestled in the west hills of Portland. Awake to an amazing view of Mt. Hood , the Willamette River and the east side of Portland...all from your bed! Easy access out the front door to running and hiking trails. Comfy queen bed, bamboo floors, slate bathroom and private ping pong table make this the perfect weekend getaway.

The guest house is located 1.5 miles from downtown Portland and a 5 minute walk to the bus stop.

This was a mediocre situation with a fairly nice view. There is comfortable seating for only 1 person. Hosts are very nice. This is not an apartment, just a detached guest room.

All in all a pleasant stay. I perhaps have fallen prey to expecting more with the price as it was...and there were a lot of stairs to the abode. The space is quaint and sweet;the view lovely; the bed comfortable; the hosts pleasant...I just felt as if I was staying in their extra space as a friend would; the place was a bit unattended..not unclean, just not to the level I was, again, expecting...For one, I had to set the coffee maker on the floor to plug it in...It's really more of a nice room than a studio, and I was, again, expecting a studio situation. But all in all my daughter and I slept peacefully and felt comfortable there...I perhaps would stay again, if the price were just a bit more modest.

Didn't get to see Mt Hood (or Oliver or Sarah for that matter) but we enjoyed our stay in the cottage nonetheless. The bed is amazingly comfy, and it's a sweet neighborhood, though not one with good food options within easy walking distance (the only shortcoming). Oliver was very helpful, including finding us parking even though he was away on a mountain somewhere.

Nice little house and amenities, beautiful setting, friendly hosts, lotws of local info in the room. We would have liked coffee mugs and to have gotten the wifi access faster.

Oliver was a pleasure to deal with, although we only met him in person for a few moments as we were leaving. His garden house is in a fine neighborhood for walking, and its windows do indeed offer the potential (not realized when we were there because of rain) of a great view of Mount Hood. The bed could not be more comfortable, and there is ready access to downtown Portland.

We had an awesome 4-night stay with Oliver and Sarah. They were very welcoming and offered lots of advice about where to go, but their setup also afforded us ample privacy. The guesthouse has a set of skylight-like windows built into the ceiling, which makes it very happily light even on a rainy day. We parked on the street and had easy access to the city. The view of course is fantastic!

We had a great stay at Oliver and Sarah's guest house! The large picture window overlooks the Willamette River and on clear days Mt Hood can be seen in the distance. Bed is very comfortable, bathroom is stocked with plenty of extra toiletries, and endless copies of Portland Monthly provide for great suggestions of eateries and attractions in the city (not to mention Oliver and Sarah's suggestions). The guest house is nestled into a wooded area that backs up to a park that provides conventient access (bike paths, etc) to downtown. The bus stop is a short 3-4 min walk from their place as well. We're so glad we decided to stay here instead of a hotel...highly recommend the place!

Love the sunrise view! I posted my pictures online and everyone says it looks like paradise. The house is well-stocked with toiletries, robes, and tons of local travel information. Oliver recommended places to eat, and all were a hit. Parking is easy and you are right behind a park. Downtown and great restaurants are only a few minutes away.
