Great location, peaceful retreat

Although Marnie was away the weekend we stayed in her house, her organisation was spotless. It was very easy to communicate with her over the email. There was a very friendly neighbour who met us at the house at a convenient for us time and introduced us to everything we needed for our stay there. The fridge was full of the stuff we had requested and the room and neighbourhood were comfy as advertised. The bedlinen was freshly changed and smelled nicely even though Marnie was not there when we arrived. It was unseasonably cold but not for a moment we felt cold in the house. Amsterdam was generally a great place to visit, having its own atmosphere and people being welcoming and pleasant to deal with.

Marnie's home and hospitality were superb. The room we had was clean, comfortable and always a welcome sight after a long day of sightseeing. Marnie's home is located in an excellent suburb very close to Vondelpark as well as awesome restaurants, cafes and bars. As a host Marnie was very helpful with recommendations and answered all of our questions and was just generally pleasant company to be in.

This is a quiet apartment on a residential street close to everything with an easy tram ride. On the ground floor for easy access, it is beautifully appointed and spotless. The best part is the warm and kind hostess. We were ill for part of our visit and the support was outstanding, beyond belief. The evening before Queens day she found a doctor to come to our bedside. If you don't stay here, you will miss the best bet in Amsterdam.

Marnie is a wonderful, generous hostess. Her apartment is in an excellent location, just a couple short blocks from Vondel Park in one direction and from the tram line and bus to the airport in the other, out of the crowded tourist areas but convenient to everything. Our room was attractive and comfortable, and had fresh flowers. Marnie generously provided more than ample food for all our breakfasts and also gave us access to her kitchen for other meals. She was full of helpful suggestions about getting about in Amsterdam, and wonderful company as well. Eeny, her cat, presided over everything when Marnie was out.

Marnie is a very pleasant ang helpful host. We have an great stay in this quiet place near the center.

We had a very nice time at Marnie's. our Amsterdam experience was wonderful in a big way because of the ease and comfort of our stay . She gave us lots of space and trusted us with the house. The house is discreetly located just outside of the City's centre but with easy accessibility to quick public transport and almost all places of interest . The strategic position gave us the quiet in the evenings when we wanted it that way There are a variety of restaurants within 1 to 5 minutes walking distance and also a supermarket and a large park. Not to forget the friendly chubby cat Eenie which welcomed us home every day. Thank you Marnie

Staying with Marnie was really, really wonderful. She is an intuitive host, and her love of Amsterdam is contagious. She is very kind, smart, and interesting to talk to. Her place is very welcoming and comfortable. Getting to the city center was very easy, but you are also super close to beautiful Vondelpark or neighborhood cafe's, shops, and benches overlooking the canal if you want to stay close to home. I can't wait to return to Amsterdam and I know much of that is thanks to Marnie's great hosting and introduction to the city.

Most charming and beautiful hostess. I felt myself as if I visited my Aunt's house and was at home. A can write a long story here, but in two words - everything was really great! Thanx a lot!!!!!!!

Marnie was very welcoming and prepared lovely breakfasts each morning. Very helpful with the city knowledge and how to get around. We definitely recommend this warm and friendly home.

The stay at Marnie's house was wonderful and couldn't have been better. The neighborhood is great, the apartment was comfortable, and Marnie and Fred couldn't have been nicer or more accommodating. Also, she was super quick to respond to all messages. I would love to stay there again!

If you want to feel as home, be near to the agitation of the city but in calm, go to Marnie's house. We love our stay in Amsterdam, it was fabulous! Thank you Marnie.

Marnie is a fabulous host and the breakfast Chez Marnie was excellent :) She had everything ready for us, gave us enough space but offered plenty of good advice. Her room is packed with helpful tourist books and adapters and slippers! She is attentive and kind and her home is charming. Eenie the cat is also very friendly. You can't beat the location; we loved spending our mornings walking in Vondelpark.

Everything about staying with Marnie was friendly and non intrusive, spotlessly clean and very well located near the city centre for all the shopping, restaurants and tourist attractions. Marnie is friendly and more than willing to help with any queries. You are treated like a friend rather than just another face. The room was large and silent. I haven’t slept so well in years. I actually didn’t want to leave and will definitely be visiting Marnie, Eeny the lovely cat, and Amsterdam again. If you haven’t visited Amsterdam or want to return, this is certainly the place to stay.

My husband and I had both of our bachelor and bachelorette parties simultaneously in Amsterdam. Of course we didn't have the party in this B&B, but he and I both stayed here while our friends took another place which the host, Marnie, referred them too. Not only was this place romantic and charming, but our host was a wealth of knowledge of the city and a ton of fun. This B&B location was AMAZINGLY located RIGHT near the center of the city and Vondel Park. If you wan the warmth of true Dutch hospitality, but still have your privacy, you can have your cake and eat it too with this place. Hope you have a blast!

You'll love this cozy pad right close to everything that one needs to see in Amsterdam. It's just off of the noise of the center of the city but only requires a quick bike or tram to be in the bustle of it all. Very close to the gorgeous Vondel Park. And you will even have a sweet little backyard to sit out in to enjoy your morning coffee. And Marnie is the perfect blend of wry humored Amsterdamer with the sweetness that Canadians are famous for.
