Dare to discover something different. This once in a lifetime ‘alone on your own island’ opportunity allows adventurous vacationers and travelers alike to escape the stresses of everyday life and return to nature in its rarest form.
**THE ISLAND**
Nanuku Island is a tiny 10-acre paradise where time stands still. All around you hundred year-old coconut trees burst from the jungle floor, and fifteen miles of the South Pacific’s signature sapphire sea lies between you and your closest neighbor (Red Bull's exclusive 7-star Laucala Island Resort).
A marine and wildlife sanctuary, the sandy shores and surrounding reef are home to some of Fiji’s most exotic creatures. It is here that the fabled Hawkesbill and Leatherback turtles return year-after-year to bury their precious eggs in the sun-warmed sand; it is here where the giant clams can rest securely within the safety of the Tuna and Trevally patrolled reef; and it is here that Fiji’s most rarely glimpsed sea birds retire to rest their weary wings.
It is here that wonders never cease.
**THE ACCOMMODATIONS**
Two beautifully basic bures (Fijian-style homes), each no more than 10 steps to the sea, are situated in the Western facing sands of the island, cleverly capturing the soft sea breeze and affording a nearly 180-degree view of the most spectacular sunsets your soul can stand.
The main bure is a lofted, two-story wooden structure with Fijian-style louvered windows which lazily let the sunlight filter through. Equipped with two double beds and a bunk, this bure can sleep up to six guests and offers a shaded sitting-porch as well as ensuite facilities.
The second structure holds the kitchen and dining area, a second bathroom and two private bedrooms, which sleep up to two guests each. The wrap around deck doubles as an outdoor dining area, or even a sleep-out space, if you’re up for it.
