LOCATION: We are located in the HEART of the city of San Francisco. The location is KEY in the center of great food, cafés, shopping, transportation, farmer's markets, the very popular Dolores Park and a great neighborhood feel! The San Francisco Bay Area attracts millions of tourists every year and is known for its varied cuisine, panoramic views, scenic drives, music, museums, and especially for its diverse, cosmopolitan population.

TRANSPORTATION: MUNI, BART, Golden Gate Transit: San Francisco public transportation is world class, just like the city itself. You can get just about anywhere in the SF Bay Area on the public transit system. Just ask and I'll let you know how to get there, but in any case maps will be provided! Cars can also easily be rented from nearby car rental agencies. The Old Fashioned Street Car runs right out in front. The J Church runs on the cross street Church. There's the K L M T underground subway lines within a few block radius and the 22 and 33 bus lines one block away in either direction.

A taxi from the airport is approximately $40 -$50 one way depending how much you tip.
2 Hour Street Parking is available M-F. Evenings & weekends there's no time limit, but check signs for street cleaning.

CLIMATE & WEATHER: As Mark Twain once said" The coldest winter I ever spent was a summer in San Francisco." Which doesn't mean that we don't have good weather or warm days, but the best policy is: if you're prepared for the worst, then you'll always be pleasantly surprised! It's just gets really windy as the day progresses and we are known for relentless fog, but more so if you're staying near the coast. Don't go toward the beach unless it's really really hot and you'll be OK I promise! Always pack an umbrella, a windbreaker and a few extra long-sleeved, layers just to be on the safe side! The neighboring, Dolores Park is actually our "urban beach" anyway because it's a big, huge park with a whole lot of activities for the whole family from soccer, tennis, basketball, and a playground for the little-ones to live performances, festivals, and concerts or just plain old partying, bbq's and having a great time with a group of friends on a beautiful day :)

SF & BAY AREA EVENTS INFO:
You can pick up a free SF Weekly or SF Guardian newspaper on just about any corner in the city to find out about night life or online to find a variety of events info as well. There are more than plenty of diverse cultural events, music, art, dance, open mikes, sports, nature/outdoor, nightlife, etc. and there is something here for everybody! SF is a very vibrant, cosmopolitan and internationally recognized city for it's array of cultural diversity, architecture, unique history and of course, liberal politics. (*Just a side note: our neighbor, Dennis Peron a few doors down, authored Proposition 215: medical marijuana fyi :-) Tours can be arranged of his very "San Francisco style" home. He was also featured in the film "Milk' with Sean Penn, who also lives in the North Bay among other actors such as Robin Williams and Creator of Star Wars- George Lucas).

RESTAURANTS:
Within a very short block radius one has an array of international cuisines to choose from at affordable prices. From Italian, Vietnamese, Mexican, Spanish, Mediterranean, Burmese, Vegan/Vegetarian, Indian, Thai, French, Cuban, to food trucks, smoothies stands, raw health food and many small independently owned gourmet deli markets and cafés, farmer's markets as well as large commercial supermarkets.

Extended Stay Rates may be available upon request.

City Tours of SF are available FRI-MON. Rates are negotiable.*

  • I've stayed in the 'Urban Oasis' for a week and had a great experience. The neighbourhood is perfectly situated between Castro and Mission, 2 fabulous areas, lots of nice cafes and restaurants close by. Christina and Hector are great hosts; their house is very cosy and we've had very interesting conversations together. For me it was the perfect combination of having a chat & a beer together on the one hand and have the privacy of your room whenever you feel like it. I would definitely stay with them again when I return to SF!

  • Hi fellow Air BnBer's! Christina's Urban Oasis was my first experience using Air BnB and I was more than lucky to come across such warm and inviting accommodations. Next to being located in the middle of two iconic San Francisco locations, Castro and The Mission, Christina and Hector were extremely helpful with making me feel welcome and introducing me to parts of the city that I may not have found out on my own. My one month stay couldn't have been better. Moving to a new city alone and without much knowledge can be scary but my experience has allowed me to ease into the city comfortably and meet some great new friends along the way. If you are visiting San Francisco I would highly recommend the Urban Oasis for your stay; especially if you're objective is to gain the full effect of this truly magical city and not break the bank in the process!

  • Judith and I had a very nice week in San Francisco and in Christina's place ; thanks to her and Hector for their warm welcoming and sharing appartment with us ; the place was nice and very easy to go any place in SF (metro, buses, walks). Hope we have the chance to go there again but also to host them (or friends :-)) in our place in return.

  • What a lovely experience! I enjoyed my few night stay so much with Christina that I'm going back for at least a month. I really feel that the location is wonderful. I don't have a car and it's very easy to get to public transportation. There is a laundry facility on the corner and a grocery only a few blocks away. I can get from her door to the 900 block of Market street (where I'm going to be everyday) in less than a half an hour. Ok - enough about the place and something about the people: Christina and Hector are amazing and wonderful people. They both spent time talking to me about the area and even invited me to dinner with them. They seem more like friends that you want to hang out with rather than the stranger from which you're renting a room. Their wonderful character really shines threw in both their mannerisms and their house. I highly recommend staying here for an amazing San Francisco experience.

  • My stay with Christina and Hector was great. Christina is very genuine and on the ball, and made it easy to connect with her on arrival. Both she and Hector are friendly, polite, and warm. The area where the apartment is located is great, and the room is spacious and comfortable. This is a fine base of operations to explore the vibrant areas of Sf, like the Mission and the Castro...and it is practically next door to the Dolores park!

  • Christina and Hector's place is amazing. We loved every aspect of our stay. The hosts really can't be beat! They are kind, helpful, and they went out of their way to ensure we were happy. Their home is beautiful and we just loved our room. The colorful vibe and decorations made the experience one of our favorite Airbnb adventures yet. We also loved the neighborhood. It's central and easy to walk everywhere. Overall, we had a fantastic experience and we highly recommend it to anyone.

I was in San Francisco for four short days, simply there to explore all that the city is. Staying with Christina and Hector made my trip to San Fran absolutely perfect. Their home is centrally located amidst the most interesting and vibrant neighbourhoods in the city, with easy access to parks, cafes, restaurants, boutiques, and public transit. Their home and the guestroom are uniquely warm and comfortable, and I am grateful for their welcoming, helpful, and down to earth personalities. I look forward to when our paths cross again! Til then, Jon

  • Staying with Christina was an absolute pleasure! Although we only saw her twice during our stay, we felt very welcomed and enjoyed our very comfortable and cozy room. The location was perfect for exploring San Francisco, with many cute eateries and shops within walking distance. Public transportation was close by as well for easy access to the Bay Area. We will definitely stay with Christina again on the next round.
