LOCATION: We are located in the HEART of the city of San Francisco. The location is KEY in the center of great food, cafés, shopping, transportation, farmer's markets, the very popular Dolores Park and a great neighborhood feel! The San Francisco Bay Area attracts millions of tourists every year and is known for its varied cuisine, panoramic views, scenic drives, music, museums, and especially for its diverse, cosmopolitan population.
TRANSPORTATION: MUNI, BART, Golden Gate Transit: San Francisco public transportation is world class, just like the city itself. You can get just about anywhere in the SF Bay Area on the public transit system. Just ask and I'll let you know how to get there, but in any case maps will be provided! Cars can also easily be rented from nearby car rental agencies. The Old Fashioned Street Car runs right out in front. The J Church runs on the cross street Church. There's the K L M T underground subway lines within a few block radius and the 22 and 33 bus lines one block away in either direction.
A taxi from the airport is approximately $40 -$50 one way depending how much you tip.
2 Hour Street Parking is available M-F. Evenings & weekends there's no time limit, but check signs for street cleaning.
CLIMATE & WEATHER: As Mark Twain once said" The coldest winter I ever spent was a summer in San Francisco." Which doesn't mean that we don't have good weather or warm days, but the best policy is: if you're prepared for the worst, then you'll always be pleasantly surprised! It's just gets really windy as the day progresses and we are known for relentless fog, but more so if you're staying near the coast. Don't go toward the beach unless it's really really hot and you'll be OK I promise! Always pack an umbrella, a windbreaker and a few extra long-sleeved, layers just to be on the safe side! The neighboring, Dolores Park is actually our "urban beach" anyway because it's a big, huge park with a whole lot of activities for the whole family from soccer, tennis, basketball, and a playground for the little-ones to live performances, festivals, and concerts or just plain old partying, bbq's and having a great time with a group of friends on a beautiful day :)
SF & BAY AREA EVENTS INFO:
You can pick up a free SF Weekly or SF Guardian newspaper on just about any corner in the city to find out about night life or online to find a variety of events info as well. There are more than plenty of diverse cultural events, music, art, dance, open mikes, sports, nature/outdoor, nightlife, etc. and there is something here for everybody! SF is a very vibrant, cosmopolitan and internationally recognized city for it's array of cultural diversity, architecture, unique history and of course, liberal politics. (*Just a side note: our neighbor, Dennis Peron a few doors down, authored Proposition 215: medical marijuana fyi :-) Tours can be arranged of his very "San Francisco style" home. He was also featured in the film "Milk' with Sean Penn, who also lives in the North Bay among other actors such as Robin Williams and Creator of Star Wars- George Lucas).
RESTAURANTS:
Within a very short block radius one has an array of international cuisines to choose from at affordable prices.
