I have negotiated with a Chauffeur to pick up guests from Glasgow Airport and drive them to our house for 35GBP. His cars are Mercedes E Class. (The fair for a taxi is about £25.00) Let me know if you're interested in this service. There is a bus from the airport which takes you into the City Centre called the airport shuttle and the cost is £4.50 single fare. This will take you in to the Central Station and you go to the lower level and can get a train to Rutherglen.

I have recently made a contact with a lady called Margaret, who runs a more personal travel agency and will be delighted to arrange travel and excursions. She has a personal approach to helping people and is based 10 miutes away from us here in Rutherglen. Please ask for her e mail address.

  • Jane was a great host. She got me settled into a clean, quiet, and comfortable room. She was also very helpful in providing recommendations on what to see among Glasgow's many attractions. Her traditional Scottish breakfasts were tasty and so filling that I had to skip lunches. Finally, I found that the location was extremely convenient. Its quiet, yet Rutherglen main street is a short walk away and has everything you might need - ATMs, stores, and several good restaurants and pubs. Glasgow city center is just two train stops away.

I relocated to Glasgow to start a new job in a new city. Even though I had lived in London 18+ years it felt a little daunting. I picked Jane as my host as she seemed like a 'home from home'. In my first few days Jane care and attention was exceptional. Exactly what I needed for my new venture.

  • Excellent b&b very comfortable ,clean &quiet Plus Jane is an excellent breakfast chef

  • I stayed with Jane for a week and I only have good words to share about my stay. The neighbourhood was quiet and is easily linked to the city centre either by bus or by train. I had the best breakfasts every morning and was even able to try a Scottish breakfast. Jane is friendly and warm. More importantly, I found her to be approachable especially if you have questions about directions or sightseeing attractions in the area. I only have fond memories of my stay there and would definitely recommend others to stay with Jane. I'll look her up again next time I pass by Glasgow.

  • The room and house itself was incredibly well kept, homely and inviting. It was a beautiful place and my girlfriend and I was actually wowed when we stepped in. Jane was extremely friendly and nice to talk to and also a great host. Many amenities such as towels, milk, tea kettle and tea, tv and DVDs were provided. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone who wants a great experience of Scotland! Jane's place is a five minutes walk from rutherglen train station so it is easy to get to central glasgow and other places like loch lomond. There is about 2 minutes of rather steep climbing but it is definitely manageable to get to the station from the house. Overall fantastic place. Molly, Tara (her 2 dogs) and the puppies were really adorable as well!

  • My coworker and I traveled up to Scotland for two days (after a work trip to London) and Jane's was the perfect home base for seeing some of this beautiful country. She was very helpful and responsive in arranging all the logistics. Her home is lovely and conveniently located - I had no trouble finding her house or getting to and from all the places I wanted to visit. She also gave great recommendations for where to go, even helping look up music and dance venues for us! Breakfast was delicious and Jane is warm and thoughtful, so enjoy your stay!

  • Jane is the best host you could ever have. We had a great time staying at her bed and breakfast. The location couldn´t be better, the house is located in a quiet neighbourhood, and the house is quiet as well, so it is a suitable place for resting. At the same time, it is very well communicated by train to the center of Glasgow city. There are enough shops nearby to get groceries if needed.

  • Jane is wonderful! Her place is so close to the center of town! A fantastic room with everything you need, and a wonderful view. Jane helped us locate a comedy show, she phoned taxis and made us feel so welcome...not to mention the amazing breakfast we got. This is the only place to stay in Glasgow!

  • We had two rooms in Jane's B&B, and the rooms were clean and cosy. Jane was very welcoming and the 'house rules' were very clear. Jane is flexible on breakfast time time which is great. Good shower and nice big bathroom with natural light. Rutherglen Station is a few stops from Central, so it was easy enough to get to all the places we wanted to. The station is around 5-10 mins walk away depending on fitness levels!

  • It was our first time staying at someone's place that we got trough AirBnB.com and jane's house has definitely eased our doubts regarding staying in a stranger's house. Jane is an amazingly welcoming woman with a wonderful house. Her room and beds exceeded our expectations, especially with the wide selection of DVDs available. She also offered tea and milk in the room (just like in a hotel!). Jane was also very accomodating as she asked for our choice of breakfast. We thoroughly enjoyed her delicious Scottish breakfast and felt that it was the best breakfast we've had ever since we reached the UK (and possibly our lives haha) If you're a dog lover, you'll LOVE Molly and Tara! However if you're not a huge fan of dogs, Jane will kindly keep them in a room! We will definitely stay with her again! :)
