About this listing

The space

You rent one room in my 3-bedroom apartement. We share kitchen and bathroom.
Super central and super quiet!
Your room in my flat is huge and has very high ceilings! It will be in the centre of former East Berlin, in a house built in 1882 and now traditionally renovated, with carpets in the staircase and stucco everywhere. It is in the middle of a huge cafe, bar, restaurant and club scene. - BUT our street is in a priviliged way unbelievably silent. Because of the very good public transport in this area, it's the best location to get to all the Sights of Berlin. For learning German: The Goethe Institute is a 2-minute-walk from here. The Museum Island with the world heritage Pergamon Museum, Monbijou Park, Operas, Theaters and Oranienbuger Straße are 3000 feet away. In short this area is the Berlin that is talked about. You'll get a big bed (5 feet), linens, sheets, towels and everything that is needed.

I speak German, Spanish, French, English and Dutch. Feel free to ask about everything you are interested in! I am looking forward to your visit!

And for getting home:
My appartement is in walking distance to the bus wich brings you directly to Tegel-airport and to the train-station wich brings you directly to Schoenefeld-airport.

This is about as good as it gets if you visit Berlin. Located in the Mitte area, near Prezlauer Berg too, this space is lovely, warm and comfortable. Elisabeth is about as good as host as you can ask for. The location is just perfect for amazing restaurants, transportation, sites, shopping. There is an awesome ice cream place down the block. By the time I left, I realized just how lucky we were to get this place for our Berlin visit.

Elisabeth's home is exactly as pictured or better. The room itself is full of cozy places to rest or unwind and the bathroom and kitchen are clean and easy to use. There is also a beautiful terrace filled with flowers where you can sit and read. The location is fantastic, you can easily walk to many destinations and there are also multiple types of public transport available. Elisabeth herself is friendly and incredibly helpful. I took her up on most of her recommendations for meals and was never disappointed. Stay here! You won't regret it.

Great stay! We enjoyed the local restaurants and museums an easy walk from the property. Elizabeth was very kind and helpful in finding things to do and getting train tickets.

This was my second time staying with Elisabeth and it was every bit as pleasant a stay as the first time if not more so as it was like returning to see an old friend. This time I brought along a buddy who agreed that Elisabeth's place is fabulous as is the location. It's near restaurants, Alexanderplatz and Museum Island. Elisabeth is a terrific person. She's very friendly, warm and helpful. It's always fun to sit and chat with her. I look forward to a future visit!

Elisabeth is a very kind, warm, hospitable and welcoming host. Checking in was very easy and quick. The house is located very close to public transit -- about a 5 minute walk. The room is on the first floor (second floor in the US) and there is a wide, carpeted staircase leading to it. So those with heavy luggage will have no problem taking it to the apartment. The room looks just as in the pictures and is very well equipped: 1) multiple bed options; I chose to sleep on a convertible bed which had a soft mattress, but one could also use the beds in the loft. 2) a wardrobe with hangers 3) foot stools with soft cushions, couches 4) a writing desk with a large lamp 5) a hammock! though I didn't use it 6) many tourist guide books to use and 7) very fast, reliable internet. Elisabeth was not going to be around when I was planning to check in, so she had made arrangements for her son to be there instead of making me come in later. There was also a welcoming tray with water, treats, etc! There are other great facilities in the house -- a clean, spacious bathroom with a washer, kitchen with a sit out. Elisabeth surprised me with coffee one morning and with breakfast the morning I left! They were unexpected and touching gestures. All in all, a lovely place, with a lovely host. I strongly recommend her place to anyone visiting Berlin for any length of stay.

Elisabeth User ProfileElisabeth is a superhost.

I studied languages and Latin American history and I am working as a language teacher in a Berlin high school.
I have two adult sons, one of them sometimes lives here in my flat. He studies fine art (painting).

I'm living here in this part of East Berlin for already 32 years, so I can tell a lot about this place I love.
