About this listing

Located 10-min. from beach and town, CASA VILIANO has 2 BDs and a self-contained casita to make it 3-BDs. We do not take bookings of less than 5 nights. The 2-bedroom house is owner-occupied until 4/12/17 and is available for Easter Week, but with a 7-night minimum. Rent as a 2-BR or 1-BR at lower rate. Contact owner to discuss special offer.

The space

CASA VILIANO is a very liveable home, where you can lounge by the pool by day, enjoy the sunset in the evening, and gaze at the stars and the water as you sip your nightcap before bed. The house has two and a half baths and an outdoor shower by the pool; a large, well-equipped kitchen; dining room; living room and three terraces. With two daybeds in the living room, the house sleeps six.

CASITA VILIANO is a charming apartment with a well-equipped kitchen and private terrace. It has a queen bed and twin-size day bed to comfortably sleep a family of three or two amigos who don't want to share a bed. The private terrace includes table and chairs to seat four and chaise lounges for reading or taking your siesta.

A door separates the casita terrace from the common stairwell for safety and privacy. Small dogs are welcome.

Evening and night views from both Casa Viliano and the Casita are particularly spectacular, with the twinkling lights of the village below, and excellent views of Sayulita’s frequent fireworks displays.

High quality linens and towels. Beach towels, chairs and umbrellas are provided.

CASA VILIANO is located on the north end of town, just a 10-minute walk to the village and the beach. Most visitors will not need a car.

We do not book for less than 5 nights during high & low seasons, and one week during Holiday Seasons. Low season rates are somewhat negotiable, based on the number of guests.

Please include number of people in your party (and if there are children), number of nights you want to stay, and dates you want to book in your inquiry. Dates will determine season and price, some room for negotiation.

Guest access

Shared access to swimming pool and barbecue. Beach towels, chairs & umbrellas provided. Generous parking.

Interaction with guests

During High Season we live in the 2-bedroom house. We are available to help guests with directions, recommendations, and assist with anything that comes up. The remainder of the year we have a house manager, Roy Serur, who does check in and check out, and is available to assist with any issues that might arise.

Other things to note

Cooks love our kitchens, which have high-quality pans, sharp knives and ample utensils. We provide unlimited purified water, toilet paper, paper towels, body wash, dishwashing detergent and Micodyne (for soaking produce), and kitchen sponges. Maid service is provided twice weekly. The unit is cleaned, sheets and towels are changed. We now have A/C in both the master bedroom and the casita, however, since electricity is very expensive in Mexico, there is a surcharge if you use the A/C to excess. Specifics will be in the rental agreement and email communication.

We will send a rental agreement once the reservation has been confirmed. Please note: I am saying yes to children 2-12, however, the second bedroom of our house is in a separate building from the main house. It's on the same level as and is not far from the master, however, parents need to be comfortable with having their child separated from them by two doors and a small bridge. Some parents like to bring a baby monitor.

Casa Viliano met each and every expectation and then some! The main house and casita were both stocked with everything you could possibly need. The house, pool, and grounds are kept in immaculate condition. The location of Casa Viliano was perfect for our stay - close enough to access everything in town, but far enough away to escape the loud music of Sayulita nights. There is indeed a steep hill to walk up, but instead of viewing it as an obstacle, we made use of it as exercise so we wouldn't feel guilty eating an extra taco at dinner! Donna was extremely prompt and informative in all communications. And the property managers Roy and Alex were also very helpful to us for every question that came up during our stay. We would all go back to Casa Viliano in a heartbeat. In fact, I really wish we never left! Thank you so much for the great experience!

The house is beautiful! My family and I had a great time. For those of you visiting for the first time I think its only fair to give you a complete run down. The House: Absolutely beautiful. We rented the whole home which includes the "casita". They had a washer and dryer, modern refrigerator, water in every bedroom, enough towels for 4 adults and 2 kids, beach umbrellas, beach chairs, plenty of sunscreen and mosquito repellent for the whole week. Keep in mind that each room is VERY private. The top room (no AC) is not attached to the home which slept two rowdy kids, the master is attached to the home (with AC and the water pressure was great), the casita was at the bottom level (with AC). FYI: If you are traveling with very small children and hope to have them share a room you will have trouble hearing them. The pool was perfect for afternoon swimming and evening dips. The whole house was really well kept and I was happy with the finish and quality of the home. Location: The home is located (literally) at the very entrance of the where Sayulita begins. If you are hoping for beach front views of the ocean you will not get them from this house. I HIGHLY recommend renting a small golf cart to get around town as this is not in the center or next to sand. The cart will save you time and will make you feel cool driving around town. If you decide to walk you will need to plan your day and make sure to wear shoes to walk the seep hill. The Hill The way up to the house is scary. The cab that took us us up almost got stuck trying to climb the hill. I'm Mexican and the homes in route are really poor. Some people said they liked it but be prepared to see a badger and some random items along the way. Definitely for the adventurous. Overall: Great hideaway with everything you need to have fun at the beach. Rent a cart and make sure to buy some food before going up (and drinks). Donna was great and everything felt very professional. Read the reviews and make sure you know what you are getting and you will have a great time at the house. Loved the Tommy Bahama umbrellas and Chairs! Made my tanning much more enjoyable.

Response from Donna:
Hi Alex, Thanks for your suggestions. I'm sorry Roy didn't help more with the cook -- Alex, his partner, is the more likely of the two to find you someone. Next time a guest requests a cook I'll have Alex look into it before arrival. I'm afraid the road is a bit of a mess because the neighbors excavated so large trucks were going up and down. We usually have the dirt part graded a couple of times during the rainy season, but we left at the end of April and didn't know it was bad. We'll look into that. Yes, our house is definitely for the adventurous. When we purchased the lot there was one family living on the street and it has just gotten worse as more and more people have moved in and built small houses. I do warn guests -- it's also in our description, but most people don't read a lot, which brings me to: I like the idea of the PDF -- do you think the whole book? I'm not sure people would download and read it. Which parts did you think were most helpful? Also -- when you say "screens for the bottom floor" -- do you mean the casita or the living room? Glad you had a good stay and enjoyed many features of the house! Donna

Staying at this Casa was a dream! This was the best place for a long week stay in Sayulita. The home was beautifully decorated, incredibly clean, and spacious for our crew. We were impressed with Roy (local host) with his quick responses to questions. He was always willing to go the extra mile to make sure we had everything we needed. The pool was a respite from the hot sandy beach in the afternoon. There were days we didn't want to leave the house because of the restful environment. I was amazed how Donna thought of everything you could possibly need in the kitchen. We cooked most meals at home, and were never lacking the equipment or tools needed. The house is located behind the town, up a steep hill, through a local neighborhood. Only a 10 min walk to downtown. We especially enjoyed not being in a 'touristy' area in Sayulita. I would HIGHLY recommend this for someone wanting a sanctuary a few steps outside the bustling Sayulita.

Hi Donna, Our stay at Casa Villano was very pleasant. Sayulita is such a lovely little town and the amount of care and detail you taken into making our stay great was lovely. The driveway was a little steep, but was a great workout. Very authentic!

Donna's place is amazing. The house is beautifully set and I loved the authenticity of the neighbourhood. As others mentioned the walk is steep. My family enjoyed it. Doing the walk with a longboard is a little more challenging. I had rental car for going to distant surf spots. I recommend this place, it is a lovely experience but perhaps not a match for weaker travelers (it's quite open, not rustic, but open). Having three bathrooms for 4 people was GREAT:) I love the outdoor shower. I also loved all of the animals on the walk to the main town. it was a perfect distance.

The house is amazing! It is bigger than the photos make it seem and the dipping pool is divine! We loved cooking in the kitchen and eating out on the patio. The view of the town is great, and it is nice to be up out of town at the house because Sayulita is quite busy for being a small town. Donna was very communacative and all her instructions were well written. The property manager Ramon is very easy to find from the bus station because it is basically across the street. He was very nice and showed us to the house. Great trip! We definitely reccomened Donna's Casa Viliano. We didn't use the casita, but I am sure it is very nice, too.

The listing was very accurate and Donna called before we finalized our stay to really tell us all about her beautiful home in Sayulita Mexico. The home is wonderful, we had plenty of room for our son and daughter and their children. The walk to the beach and town was done multiple times each day as they are not far away from the activities at all. One of our better stays with Air BNB, thank you so much Donna and Cal. You have a wonderful place in Mexico.
