Description

The space

Hello, I'm renting my fully furnished 2 bedroom apartment. It is in the true heart of the hippest area of NYC, Williamsburg, Brooklyn just off the main street of Bedford Avenue. It is 5 minutes by foot to the L Train subway stop at Bedford (first stop in Brooklyn, 10 minutes to Union Square) and also 6 minutes to the JMZ Subway at Marcy Avenue. The Williamsburg Bridge, which is great to walk (or run) over into Manhattan, is also just 5 blocks away. There are fantastic and affordable international restaurants, bars, galleries and shops nearby in the neighborhood.

The apartment is fully furnished and sleek and uncluttered in its decor. It is a very good-size apartment, approximately 750sq feet (75 sq meters). The front green-grey bedroom is small but sparsely zen and is maximized by an excellent Full-size Sealy Posturepedic bed. The second larger blue bedroom, at the opposite end of apartment, has lots of light and an excellent Queen-size Sealy Posturepedic bed. Both bedrooms have air conditioners during the summer months and convenient iPhone/iPod speaker-charging docks. The purple blue and gray living room has two windows, a comfortable 3-seat sofa, a large desk, a wall-mounted 32" LCD 1080P HDTV, Blu-ray/DVD/CD player with Netflix movie/TV streaming, a fast/reliable Apple Airport Extreme Wi-Fi Station, and speakers/video cable for connecting your laptop or iPod. The red kitchen has an eating area and is fully-outfitted with microwave, coffee makers and all cooking/dining implements. The bathroom is all white tile with black detail, has a full-size bath/shower and a dual 5-way massage showerhead. The apartment is fully-equipped with quality sheets and towels, umbrellas, iron/ironing board, coffee/tea/spices, hair dryer, high-quality Nexxus Shampoo + Conditioner, and everything a guest would need. There is high-speed broadband internet and an excellent WiFi connection.

I am very familiar with making your stay pleasant and very well-organized. Typical guests have been vacationing couples/families from Europe, Australia, or US individuals in TV, film, art or theater. As my extremely positive 5-Star Superhost AirBnB feedback shows, I do what I say and you will be a happy guest.

Guest access

You are renting an entire two bedroom apartment.

I try to be as flexible as possible with check-in and checkout times based on your needs, my schedule and that of other guests. I will meet you at the apartment, give you a tour/keys, and answer any questions. Should an issue arise during your stay I am only a text message away.

Getting around

The apartment is 5 minutes by foot to the L Train subway stop at Bedford (first stop in Brooklyn, 10 minutes to Union Square) and also 6 minutes to the JMZ Subway at Marcy Avenue. The Williamsburg Bridge, which is great to walk (or run) over into Manhattan, is also just 5 blocks away.

Peter's apartment was absolutely perfect for our stay! We loved the spacious, clean lines and decoration, thoughtful accommodations with everything we needed, as well as being walking distance to everywhere. We felt like locals, if just for awhile, and Peter's lovely home made that possible.

The description of the place is really accurate and Peter is a professional airbnb host. Everything is well organized and in place. For business travelers working in Manhattan it's good to know that the metro in the morning is quite packed so it takes much longer to get to there. Families with younger kids should be aware of a very hot pipe in the bathroom in the middle of the room. My experience was in general really good, only my checkout was strange. He came 2h too early to the apartment, when I was not there followed by wild accusations about my morning breakfast dish in the sink and that the trash needs to go outside even if its not full because of a former bug problem. Would be good to add this to the house rules or guidebook.

Response from Peter:
Max, I was generous in not leaving you a negative review and instead leaving you no review. So let's look at your nonsense above. Standard checkout time is 12 pm. For your convenience, I allowed you to keep your bags in the apt until a later time. And asked you to put them on the luggage rack (which they weren't) because the apartment would need to be cleaned by the cleaning service for the next guest and then to come back for the bags at 4pm. This was discussed with you. I came to check the apt and let in the cleaning service. While the rest of the apt was fine (thank you), the kitchen was not. There was granola covering the entirety of the breakfast table and all over the floor, a crusty milk bowl in the sink, and trash (bags of recycling, a full and uncovered trash can) that had not been taken out during your 11 day (!) stay. I was irritated because if a messy guest doesn't clean the kitchen/take trash out during a long stay there will be bugs (it is NYC) and the next guest will suffer for it. When I do check-in, as mentioned to you, I find it a bit embarrassing to tell "adults" basic protocol but I do it anyway. Like 'please take out the trash' and 'don't leave a window curtain on top of a radiator'. Where was the bedroom curtain when I came in? On the radiator.... Apparently, telling you, writing you, or having a detailed information sheet at check-in, is not enough for you. Please take responsibility for yourself for your actions/inactions..
