  This hostel was in a really fun part of Portland. There were tons of coffee shops, boutiques and restaurants around not to mention a great little whole foods market down the street. The hosts were warm and welcoming, the price was good and it was easy to get in and out of. The one thing this hostel lacks is sound-proofness, which doesn't matter if everyone is quiet, and the stairs creak very loudly. Nevertheless it's a great deal for the price, and I would certainly stay there again!

  Our stay at the guesthouse was wonderful--Amazing location, really neat house, and the other guests staying there were super friendly. Rochelle was great in terms of communicating details about check-in. Would love to stay again next time I'm in PDX!

  Just talking with Rochelle alone is worth the trip to Portland! She is accomodating, warm, gentle and sincere. The house is a delight complete with colorful decorations and art work. I can't say enough good things about my experience there, it is a true gem.

  This is an ideal location for anyone interested in the nightlife and restaurant scene in Portland. The house is beautiful and lively. I didn't get to meet Rochelle during this stay, but she has set up a very accommodating and comfortable situation.

  The house is in a great spot, very close to buses that will take you downtown direct and lots of great food and drink on the street. It was a perfect location for us.

  We were greeted warmly, and felt very welcome. The room was bright and comfortable and the neighbourhood was fantastic. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a great place to stay in Portland.

  Cozy place in an artsy area. Walking distance to some good bars and lots of restaurants & cafes. Easy bus ride to downtown and the bus stop is only a few feet away. Good place to stay if you are visiting Portland.

  I stayed here for a month and had a great experience! Rochelle was a great host and is very involved in the local neighborhood so she has a lot of knowledge about Portland to share. There is also a couple that helps with a lot of the day to day details of running the place and are great at offering information and recommendations about the area. There tends to be a really interesting mix of guests since there are a few different types of rooms available. There are some more long term guests, some people moving to the area and some short term travelers. All together this makes for an interesting atmosphere and I found it to be pretty consistently good for meeting people all throughout the month. I really liked the location. Alberta street has an artistic sort of vibe to it with a variety of interesting people and places to eat and shop. I got to see most of the city and would consider this to be one of the more distinctive neighborhoods. A bus going downtown is only about a block away so access is pretty easy. I would highly recommend it if you're coming to Portland.

  This was basic accommodations, but host was so friendly, fun and welcoming! Not ideal for a light sleeper, but great location for Alberta, and truly a bargain!

  Great spot in the heart of the Alberta District, next to the Alberta Street Food Coop. The room I stayed in for a total of 3 nights was the hostel room with access to a full kitchen and shower. Lots of vegetarian restaurants within walking distance and the house is on two major bus lines for quick access to anywhere in Portland. Rochelle and staff were very laid back and courteous. A great 1st airbnb experience.

  I don't like staying at traditional BnBs because as a rule, I don't like chit-chatting with strangers. I do, however, appreciate staying in warm, welcoming homes instead of more expensive hotels with amenities that I don't need. The Bodhi Tree Room was the perfect combination of everything I needed and wanted in an overnight stay- well kept and sweetly decorated, quiet house, private bathroom, very large and comfortable bed, and in an EXCELLENT neighborhood with lots of coffee shops, restaurants and shopping within easy walking distance. The best part about it was that the keepers of the home were sweet and helpful, but not intrusive. They seemed to give everyone their space but also be available for any questions guests might have. I will definitely be staying here again when I pass through Portland next.

  I absolutely loved my stay here. I initially planned to stay for 5 days, but that turned into over 2 weeks because I enjoyed it so much. Everyone here is awesome--from the help, to the other fellow hostelers and of course, Rochelle. I really appreciated how accommodating everyone was and that I always felt welcome and comfortable. I plan to stay here again when I move to Portland in a few months while I go through the process of transitioning to my own place of residence. I can't say enough great things about this place.
