Riverview Home - Next to train

We spent a very enjoyable week in Riverview Home We found Ellen to be a wonderful if very busy host she"s always on the go!The house is in a great location a short walk to the train and just about 20 minutes from Grand Central providing you watch the schedules and avoid times when it stops at all stations- this takes about 35 minutes.Our room was lovely and our bed very comfartable,all in all the house was perfect for us.Just one more thing Ellen has two very well behaved cats but they did not bother us its just something to keeo in mind. Thanks again Ellen for a great stay we will most defiinatley be back! John and Mary,

Ellen was a wonderful host. The room was clean and cozy. The train station was very convenient, only about 30 minutes into Manhattan! Overall I had a very comfortable stay. Thank you!

MY Stay was better than expected. The location is awesome and made mt trips into Manhattahan super easy and quick. The bathroom, bedroom and kitchen was super clean and comfortable.I felt very comfortable, no stress and at home. Marion was get helping with suggestion and directions. Ella was very friendly and other staying at House were all very friendly and interesting. I felt very safe and price was extremely reasonable. MY 14 year old niece from New Orleans was traveling with me and she was also very comfortable and felt safe. This was first B & B experience in USA and I will definitely stay again. Actually, going back to New York in 3 weeks and look forward to stay at Riverview Home away from Home. Thanks for a great stay, kitty

Our stay with Marion and Ellen was nothing short of wonderful. :) We were there for a conference being held in Hastings on Hudson, so the location was fabulous. The train station is literally across the street, so travel to/from anywhere is super simple. Marion was very open and kind, and made us feel at home from the moment we got there. The home is beautiful, and process of booking/coordinating was super laid back and simple. If ever in the area again, I will definitely be staying here!

We have enjoyed our stay in Marion and Helen's home. Marion and Helen were very kind with us. The bedroom and bathroom were perfect and we could used kitchen without any restriction. It was not a problem to live there with our 2 year's old daughter. Chambre d'hôte parfaite, très agréable. 30 minutes en train de Manhattan. Hôtes très accueillants. Nous vous conseillons cette adresse.

This is the perfect place to stay in the New York area. It might be a bit out of the way, but 18 miles goes fast on the train. The station is so close, and easy to get to. This house is beautiful, clean, and the view is just spectacular..I would recommend it to any one...We can't wait to go back and visit it again and again. Thank you for making our stay so wonderful. What a wonderful place!! Marion and Ellen are fabulous hosts and people. We were welcomed into their beautiful home fully and with so much warmth. We felt right at home. The house is clean, quiet and in a perfect location. But pack light.. There are lots of stairs. (I'm not a light packer!!) Overall, I can't say enough great things about this place and the people in it. it is truly a special place to stay. Thanks so much Marion and Ellen. We will hopefully be back soon!!

Marion and Ellen were excellent hosts... eager to fill me in on how to get around NYC. The house was newly renovated, clean, pleasant, and I slept soundly.

I'm glad that I found this place. Marion was the person who always welcome for her guest and knew what her guests need. During I stayed here, I felt such as I came to my big sister and the best friends' house. Thank you for everything, Marion.

The location for visiting NYC was great, train station is across the street. There is plenty of safe parking for visitors choosing to train into NYC instead of making the drive and paying $30.00 for parking a day. The train fare is $7.00-$9.00 each way. The house is very well decorated and charming. However,the house was not the cleanest.By the end of our 4 night stay there were no fresh towels and the bath matt was very dirty and scary looking. Kitchen was cluttered and counters and dishes were grimy. If your just looking for a place to lay your head for a reasonable price I would recommend this place, however if your looking for the B&B feel you will be disappointed. Marion is a wonderful host. Her home is extremely beautiful and the room was super comfy. Moreover, she is super nice and helped us get our luggage to and from the train station and even made us breakfast. She went way beyond our expectations and I would recommend them anytime to anyone. Marion and Ellen were amazing hosts! Marion picked us up from the subway and was so welcoming and friendly. She even cooked us Dutch food and was so engaging and made us tea upon arrival. We also talked a lot about each of our backgrounds, which I could have done for hours because it was so interesting. The room was very clean and spacious (I stayed there as well as a friend) and the bathroom was also very clean and well decorated! Everything about our stay felt safe and comfortable. The train ride into the city isn't too far and it's an amazing view (she lives right across from the Hudson River). I would definitely recommend staying here!

Marion has a beautiful home in an amazing location. It is very close to the train if you need to commute to NYC. I drove, and there were plenty of street parking right outside the house. The house and my room is clean and spacious. I wish I had spent more time at the house. Marion is a gracious host. She genuinely likes to meet her guests and made them feel at home. I will definitely be back!

I loved this house and the atmosphere! I just wish I could have met Marion. I understand she is a great host. What a wonderful bed I slept in--it was so comfortable! The Mexican tiles in the bathroom and kitchen were great as were the other Mexican touches. A beautiful place that was so convenient to the train; I really recommend this house as a place to stay near New York City and the Clearwater Festival.

I have known Marion for over 20 years. She has been a friend of the family for that long. I recently stayed at her and Ellen's lovely, warm home with my two young adult kids, one of whom lives in New Haven and the other traveled with me from California. My son's girlfriend also joined us from NYC. I knew that we would have a great time at Marion's place, since (as other attest) she is the consummate hostess. Ellen is also so lovely, warm and welcoming. There were two other absolutely delightful guests in the house at the same time. They just added to the interest, fun and diversity of our experience. The home is beautiful, with lovely walking paths all around and a gorgeous view of the Hudson River. They know all the best places to shop, see, visit. You have everything you need, and you feel so comfortable in their home. You will not be disappointed with this choice! Truly unique, very warm and welcoming.
