Le Grand Saule Chambre d'Hote offers bed and breakfast accommodation in romantic and tranquil surroundings. Set in its own private grounds bordering the River Dive and close to the local forest, this beautiful house can be found at the edge of the pretty, historical village of Moncontour. Within walking distance and just the otherside of the village is a water sports lake for skiing, with a child friendly beach, minigolf, childrens play area, auberge and bar.
Rooms in Le Grand Saule are spacious and elegant and ensuite with french and english tv and drink making facilities. They are provided with beautiful crisp white linen sheets and overlook our very beautiful garden.
We have both double rooms ensuite and a huge family room which can take upto five with plenty of room to spare. PLEASE NOTE PRICE QUOTED IS for double rooms which are 45 euro per night. Our family room is 79€ per night - however we do offer special rates for 3 or more nights and 7 or more nights.
The nearest public transport is 45 minutes drive at Poitiers - plane, train and buses - buses travel to Loudun 20 minutes drive from Moncontour.
Within the area are chateaux, wine tasting, museums, geological sites of interest, swimming pools, aquariums, zoos and troglydite caves to name just a few.
