My friends and I had a great time in Manuel Antonio/Quepos and I have to say that being able to stay in such a great Villa with amazing, beautiful views played a large part in the success of our trip. First off, Lorenzo/Laurent was very helpful from the very first email that I sent him. I had never used AirBnB before, so I was pretty reluctant to try it. However, Lorenzo promptly replied to each and every one of my concerns. He was extremely helpful with his advice and seemed very genuine. Once I made the decision to book the Villa, he was able to set up transportation from the airport to the Villa at a lower rate than anything else I had found on my own.
Once at the Villa, Lorenzo welcomed us with a fresh fruit basket. He was very friendly and gave us a tour of the place. The pictures on here of the Villa and the view do not do it justice. We were all very impressed. Compared to Hotels with similar views, Lorenzo's villa was several hundred dollars cheaper. The housekeeper was very nice and took extra care with our clothing when doing the laundry. The house was kept nice and clean and she also provided us with very helpful advice on how to reach certain places and how to use the public bus. Lorenzo himself was also helpful with offering advice on where to go and what to do. Although we did not have him book any tours for us, he would have been more and willing to do so had we asked him. He was also very non-intrusive and friendly/polite. His recommendations on where to eat were spot on. It was super nice of him to gift us a bottle of champagne for us on our last night there.
The location of the Villa is in an excellent area. It is pretty much at a halfway point between the National Park, the Beaches and the town of Quepos. Easily reached via public bus or taxi in a matter of minutes. Many great restaurants within walking distance.
I think that the only issues we had were trying to figure out the air conditioners in the bedrooms, but once we got the hang of them, the rooms would be nice and cold at night. The Wi-Fi was also a little slow. This was an issue for me because I had to log on for school and school assignments, but Lorenzo troubleshooted it when we told him about connectivity problems which made it better. Overall, I think the Wi-Fi around the town is just slow in general. Aside from a few homework assignments, we were not there to be on the internet anyway! The water in the showers was also a little difficult to get to a comfortable temperature (too hot or too cold), but this really had no effect on our overall opinion of the Villa nor our trip.
We had a blast!!
