  The guest house is in a great location for getting a sense of neighbourhood life in Glasgow while also having super-easy access to the centre. Bill and his family are very welcoming and friendly and keen to offer advice about getting around the city and fun things to do. Very nice breakfast. Homey feel with access to a fridge/freezer, TV and selection of DVDs.

  We stayed one night at Bill and were really pleased! We were very warmly received, and Bill has provided us with all the information we needed. The Guest House is located in a quiet street, yet close to the train station (one station to Glasgow center). Especially nice was the breakfast with homemade bread and homemade jam. All in all, the 1883 Guesthouse is really recommendable. Thanks again to Bill (and Charlie!) :)

  On my arrival Bill was there already at the front door, and showed me into the beautiful flat (I had expected just a room, but it was a flat with a fridge and microwave, bathroom and dining room!) I was able to go out and come in late without disturbing anyone, and the place was completely quiet at night. I wished I was staying another night! I definitely recommend this place!

  I stayed at Bill's house for 3 nights, and it was amazing! It was my first experience with the Airbnb and I hope there will be many others! Bill, his wife and their adorable dog(Charlie), were absolutely lovely, I got there late, because of the weird times RyanAir flies and Bill was up and said there was no problem at all, he showed me around, and he was very very welcoming! The room was fantastic ! It was bigger than my whole apartment, it is much bigger than it looks in the pictures, everything was very clean, smelled really good! Every single thing in the room and the house was carefully thought! Hair drier, curlier, a great robe, comfortable slippers were all clean and available to me! Also, they had shampoo, conditioner, tooth paste, very warm shower, heating, a water heater in the room and coffee and tea! DVD player, bunch of channels if you have insomnia like me, it might come handy! It is very quiet there and the whole environment made me feel really comfortable! In the morning Bill made me breakfast and he always asked what time I wanted, which is pretty good! The breakfast was delicious with this homemade bread, jelly, orange juice, coffee/tea, cereals, yogurt, milk, fruits... Lovely!!!! Everyday in the morning Bill would help me with a itinerary for the day, he gave me great tips, he know a lot about the history of Scotland, tourism and so on ! I had a great time there, I totally recommend their place and this family!

  Staying with Bill was great! Everything was immaculate, only one train stop out of central Glasgow, breakfast was delicious and the hosts (Charlie inclusive) were wonderful. Would definitely stay again!

  Bill's BnB is just as beautiful as the pictures. He was very helpful upon our arrival and even offered to helped my companion communicate with his home (as it was being hit by a hurricane). Bill helped make our experience in Glasgow a great one. Besides the great customer service that Bill gave us, the house, rooms and breakfast are very nice. The location is great (quick train ride or 5 pound taxi ride to city center). I highly recommend 1883 Guest house.

  Had a wonderful stay at the guesthouse! Was cosy and inviting after a long flight. Bill was totally helpful and great to chat with, plus good info about where to go in the city. Charlie the dog is a cutie. Oh, and the breakfast - with homemade toast + marmalade was so yum!

  Bill's place is a great solution for 3 or 4 adults travelling together. We had both of the B&B rooms which worked perfectly as 3 adults.Each room has 2 single beds so also great for 4 adults.The bathroom is shared between the 2 rooms.You have your own front door ie if you have both bedrooms then essentially you have a flat for yourselves - very private. The highlight was the breakfast - its continental BUT wonderful -home made bread and marmalade,selection of cereals and yogurts and loads of juice. Bill also has a selection of DVDs which you can use (each room has a TV/DVD player.Bill is also at hand to give any infos on directions,sites,etc - very helpful. Charlie the dog is totally friendly & lovable...you want to take him home with you! The only downside is that its not really a walking distance from the city centre but you have the train couple of minutes walk away which takes you to Central station in about 5 minutes. We took a taxi home from town and it cost 7 pounds so also OK if sharing.And of course parking at the B&B is free on street (since its not centre).

  1883 is in a great location full of good restaurants, interesting shops and a nearby bus stop. Very clean and comfortable room! I enjoyed hanging out with you guys!

  Great place and great hosts. Very near a fantastic restaurant - Cookie. Its not right in town, but if you need cheap and cheerful and a historic building its perfect. I would definitely stay again.
