Modern, light-filled bedroom with private full bath in our airy house on the hill in Mill Valley's Almonte area, ~5 miles from the Golden Gate Bridge. We're located on a quiet street and enjoy views of Mt. Tamalpais and the town below from our expansive raised deck. It's a short walk down the hill to catch a bus to SF, and ~1.5miles to the shops of downtown Mill Valley. Easy access to the MV-Sausalito bike path. We're also near to a stop for the Marin Airporter (a direct shuttle to/from SFO airport). We have an off-street parking spot available if you'll be arriving by car.

The room is best for 1 or 2 adults. It is furnished with a comfortable queen-sized bed, high quality linens, and down pillows/comforter. Limited closet space is available for hanging items. The en suite bathroom has a deep soaking tub with jets for relaxing, or a shower option. The bedroom & bathroom are both wired for sound, so enjoy your choice of radio stations or bring your ipod/iphone to plug in. We have a reliable, high-speed wireless network and enjoy good cell phone reception throughout our home.

If you're a cyclist (road or mountain), hiker, or runner there are excellent options right from our house and we have plenty of maps - enjoy nearby Stinson Beach, Muir Woods, Marin Headlands, or Mt. Tamalpais. A visit to Pt. Reyes makes for a nice afternoon drive or scenic bike ride (~30 miles each way through the farmlands of West Marin). If you're more interested in the sights of the city, it's a scenic trip via the Sausalito ferry, an easy connection via bus, or a short drive to the Golden Gate Bridge. We're also within easy reach of the Napa/Sonoma wine region by car (very limited public transit in that direction). If you aren't in the mood to explore, then curl up with a book in front of our cozy gas fireplace or in one of the nooks in our terraced hillside yard.

If you are not familiar with Mill Valley, it is easiest to arrive by daylight. Our streets are winding, hilly, and narrow and some visitors find them challenging to navigate at night.

** Please note that to keep some flexibility for ourselves & visiting family/friends, we do not accept reservation requests for the distant future. We usually open up the calendar for the coming 2-3 months only. If you're considering a stay beyond that period, check back within that time-frame for availability **

  • This was our first experience with Air BnB. We were very pleased. The dog and cat cohabitants were as gracious as our hosts.

  • We had a great 5 day stay with Cheri and Andrew! They were incredibly welcoming and full of good restaurant and trail recommendations. Every morning they graciously left us plenty of healthy breakfast options, including homemade walnut bread. While they were at work during the day, we were able to use refrigerator space and the kitchen to prepare lunch if we were home, which was very convenient and made the trip even more affordable. We enjoyed exploring the Mill Valley area, including running local trails and hiking a beautiful treck from Mill Valley to Stinson Beach (the Dipsea). We also spent a day exploring Pt. Reyes and eating delicious barbequed oysters on Cheri and Andrew's recommendation. In the evenings, we went out to eat as Cheri and Andrew used the kitchen to prepare dinner. They directed us to yummy and affordable restaurants in the area, so this wasn't an inconvenience. Our room was small, but cozy. The bed was comfortable and the private bathroom was very clean and stocked with towels. Overall, it was a great trip!

  • Cheri and Andrew welcomed us to their home and had a wealth of information about the area, covering all areas of interest--outdoor activities, scenic drives, cultural events, dining. Lovely home feels almost like a tree house. Nice bath and toiletries. They are very accommodating and sharing. Cute couple and a great place to retreat at the end of the day. Waking up was great, too. Homemade muffins!

  • Super Gastgeber. Super Zimmer. Tolle Lage. Gerne wieder ;O)

  • Perfect! Andrew and Cheri (along with Sula and Nigel) were extremely hospitable. They helped me find the trails I was interested in running. If you are an outdoor lover (and even if you aren't) you will love staying here to get away from the noise of the city. The room was earthy and clean and the bathroom even had a bathtub with jets! You will come tired, but leave refreshed.

  • Cherie and Andrew, as well as my fav, Sula, their great dane, were incredibly welcoming from the beginning....morning breakfast w/organic coffee, (if Andrew had not baked fresh muffins or artisan bread), a personal note, lovely bath products, etc. I have never shared a home w/other than friends or family, so I had a bit of trepidation......I knew as I walked in and took in the amazing view from the large deck, and my beautiful bedroom w/private bath, located across from their bedroom, (so quite private), that I had found the perfect place for my MV stay...They are possibly the loveliest couple I have met on airbnb; considerate, compassionate and leading a successful and eco-conscious life, all of which I admire. I will definitely stay there again as well as recommend to bay area friends for visiting family.

  • Cheri and Andrew are gracious hosts. Cheri even baked several types of breads which we've tasted. We (the friend of mine and I) did not spend much time in their house, mostly just to sleep and shower, and thus only saw our hosts for a few minutes of the day. A few blocks away, there is a bus that runs frequently to Mill Valley downtown or Sausalito via Marin City. Overall, we found it to be very peaceful, quiet and private, and as advertised. The price was very fair, given the location and the private bathroom.

  • I found a relaxing place to stay in the scenic urban hinterland of SF. Good and nearby bus connections to SF downtown and to the pacific coast are existent. Cheri and Andrew are the ideal hosts: always helpful and taking care of the guests wishes. I appreciated their organic way of life and was pampered with home made granola and delicious muffins. The house is very comfortable and ideal to feel at home. Sincere thanks to the charming couple, I'd like to come back tomorrow.

  • My boyfriend and I stayed at Cheri and Andrew's house for two days and had a lovely time there! It was an easy 15min drive from San Francisco (through Golden Gate) and the house had wonderful views over the hills. If we were to visit San Fran in the future we would definitely get in touch with Cheri and Andrew again!

  • The host canceled my reservation 82 days before arrival.
