Beautiful sunny furnished garden-level apartment in lovely, elegantly restored Victorian townhouse in a very desirable location 6 blocks from MIT and Harvard. 1 queen bed in the bedroom, one full-size plus two twin futons in the living room. Quiet street, 1 block to Central T. The house is in a vibrant area with lots of cool pubs, restaurants, bookstores, art galleries, grocery stores, banks, etc, but on a very quiet side street, so it offers the best of all worlds. Wonderful location, and perfect for those seeking privacy. 1/2 block from Mass Ave., 1 block to MBTA. Wireless internet included, cable TV, free parking subject to availability. Perfect for a friendly but focused professional/visiting professor/grad student. Harvard/MIT visiting professors and PhD students often stay here as well. It is a quiet environment, perfect for studying or quiet rest. Note: NO utensils, dishes or cookware provided, you may bring in your own disposable items. Guests must remove all kitchen trash daily from premises. Daily rate does NOT include kitchen cleaning nor daily kitchen trash removal, guests are expected to clean kitchen thoroughly after use and remove all trash daily.

Caretaker nearby and from time to time in residence, always available to respond by phone or text to any problems, issues concerns or requests. Positives: Location, location, location and keyless entry - and the friends I was with made it a great weekend. Negatives: everything that was said before . . . bathroom needs help - moldy shower curtain and ceiling, dirty grout, broken towel rack. Kitchen didn't even have a corkscrew (we might have left the one we bought there) and a few pots and pans and basic kitchen cooking utensils and a toaster would be nice so that you don't have to eat all meals out. They could also clean a bit more thoroughly - we found a dirty sock under one of the futons. The apartment feels like someone had an extra empty basement apartment that they went to a yard sale to furnish and put minimal money and effort into making it into an airbnb rentai. With a bit more care, attention and furnishings, this could be a really nice place.

The apartment was an a great location. We walked everywhere and felt very safe. Overall, the stay was positive, but the kitchen and bathroom were a bit tattered and didn't feel extremely clean. The bed was comfortable but the main blanket was a sleeping bag in a duvet cover. I'm a bit too high maintenance to choose to stay here again, but I think it would be great as a bachelor pad or lower maintenance group.

We had a good stay at this apartment. It was spacious and true to description. John was very responsive to all our questions. The kitchen and bathroom may not look appealing, but everything in the apartment is functional. All-in-all, I would stay here again and would recommend it to friends and family.

Great and very reliable hosts, and super fast at responding to our needs when we stayed. convenient and cute location. Overall the apartment was pretty bare, nothing fancy, but was clean had everything we needed. the locations was really convenient for us, cute restaurants, bars near by and was super close to south station on the subway. The apartment was definitely worth it for the price and saved us a good chunk of change than if we were to stay in a hotel in the area.

Apartment pretty much as described...minor nits here and there, the bathroom could use a little bit of attention, but all in all a great value.

Nice place, good location. Bathroom and kitchen were a little shabby, but not unacceptable. I liked using the code-door locks and not having to worry about losing a key!

Good spot in the centre of Cambridge in a nice street. The appartment itself had a neglected look. A bit dusty, old and dark. The fridge was filled with stuff of a previous guest.

John was a great communicator. Unfortunately my plans were altered last minute because the late check in time wasn't doable for me, but he was easily accessible and willing to help with any questions I had.

It was our second time staying here — had the same room, in fact. Clean, quiet, and no problems to speak of. The host accommodated our arrival/departure times, requests to drop off baggage, etc. Thanks, and we look forward to the next visit to Boston.

Enjoyed my stay very much. While the room I selected, at time of booking and paying for my reservation, was NOT the room I was given it worked out ok. The home was quiet, clean, accommodating and close to all modes of transportation. I would recommend John's place however, I would confirm that what you thought you clicked on and reserved, is in fact the room you will get upon arrival.

The room was small, but clean. It was perfect for Parent's Weekend because I was only there to sleep and shower. The walk to MIT was quick and safe, it took about 15-20 minutes. I will stay again.
