We stayed last weekend at Jeannie's. It is a clean, basic room, very simple beds and furnishing, but comfortable. Breakfast at 10am is cereal and coffee or tea and fresh fruits, no eggs or hot food. The house is 200+ years old, if you like historical houses, it's interesting to stay in this one. The room we stayed in had 3 beds, we had 3 people stay, one couple and one single, so we used only 2 of the beds. It was a bit of a surprise on checkout when we were told there is a $70 extra charge for the 3rd person, and only cash accepted, no credit cards. We didn't have cash on us and politely asked if the charge could be waived since we booked last minute Friday night and the room was quite expensive (over $600 for 2 nights), Jeannie was quite upset and said "that is not how we conduct business here". Bed & breakfasts are supposed to be about hospitality, so it was an unpleasant way to leave, very awkward, we would not stay there again. Jeannie probably left a negative review on us as well because of this. But if it had not been for the disagreement about the extra charge, it would have been a pretty nice stay, so overall we are giving a positive review here. Cons: Highway noise in day and at night The room is in the attic so long very narrow and steep stair case to climb up Awkward departure Pros: Beautiful garden Very convenient access to highway 200+ year old exposed beams on ceiling, very historic feel

You'll love it! We stayed in the four person room, on the top floor of the guest house. This is a real gem on eastern Long Island. The building is historic and eclectically decorated. The amenities are as described and very nice. We enjoyed ourselves thoroughly. The bath and shared spaces are clean and neat. The beds were very comfortable. The breakfast out back in the beautiful lush garden was a great touch. The road was a little busy with sounds coming through the open window since we didn't have the air on. But ear plugs made it just fine to sleep through. If the air is on or the window is closed, the street sounds should be drowned out or minimized.

After working in the art world for 25 years, I've had a Bed & Breakfast in East Hampton for the next 27 years; The beaches and the thrift store are the best anywhere.
