Old Victorian Flat #2

Full of character and historic charm! The room was spacious with great natural light, and we loved the personal touches David added with his artwork. Another plus; the bed was comfy cozy :) The flat is in a great location - Alamo Square - and a quick bike, walk, or cab ride to a variety of activities. David was a wonderful host; made us feel right at home.

David's apartment is a fresh get-a-way from those cookie cutter hotels that all look alike. His decor is simply amazing and my wife and I were actually thinking of emailing him to see if he would give us some decorating tips. Never got to meet David but he was very pleasant to deal with via email. Would stay there again! Location is great!

It was wonderful. It is a place with everything you need. The room is clean and large. David is super nice and easy going. We had such a good time!

Great place - very roomy, comfortable and homely. Good location near Alamo Square where one can pick up/ get dropped off from the bus tour ( to avoid walking up the hill to get home). Friendly host - nicely appointed home - relaxed, informal attitude. Would definitely stay here again - and recommend to others

Stay here. The location is unbeatable, you can walk to every cute neighbourhood in SF like Filmore, Haight st., Marina, Golden gate park, etc. The bus stop is in front of the house, and we took a cab home almost everynight and it cost about 10 to 15 dollars from just about anywhere. David is great (see glowing reviews below)! House is so well decorated, it feels like home. The kitchen is great, and there are two bathroom so you never have to worry about other guests. We felt like the bathroom was an ensuite. Recommended restaurants in the area: - State Bird Provisions (reservations are impossible, but they have a counter in the kitchen, stand there and eat.) 5 min walk - Nopa (open super late, amazing local food, bar is amazing) 5-10min walk - The Grind ( cafe, burgers etc, on Haight st away from the madness) - Tartine (incredible bread, nice and busy cafe near Dolores Park) - Outlanders ( surfing feel, local menu changing all the time, delicious cocktails close to the ocean. Go at 5:40 and put your name on the list hanging on the door) Bars: - The Alembic (Haight St, but dont let that fool you, its great, go.) - bourbon & branch (password required, but they also have a public bar. Think prohibition whiskey...) - Rye (like above, no res necessary) - Bloodhound ( they have the best little truck parked outside, eat there, relaxed atmosphere and deer shooting game) -comstock ( eat here and drink here. Sit at the bar) Dave's place couldnt have been better. You should stay here.

La situation géographique de l'appartement est excellente, vous êtes au milieu de tout. L'appart est cool et agréable. C'est assurément un excellent rapport/prix.

The room is bright and colorful. Plenty of light when the glorious sun is out... We had the sofa bed but the queen sized bed was fine and comfortable. Slept like babies. The place is on the top floor... knowing San Francisco, you have to climb the stairs everyday! Great exercise for us but for some? The city is always wonderful...so much to see... and as well as the local communities. Janis Joplin used to be a resident in David's area. We were in our twenties during the early 70's. Sigh! P.S. Decent location -- not near any main sights, but a short walk to the lower Haight and Civic Center. The door to the room doesn't lock, but we felt safe.

Great house! Spending the night there is like spending the night at a friend's house! It has everything you need from towels to the detergent for your dirty clothes! The location is great too since it's only 10 minutes away (by MUNI or walking) from many of SF's greatest attractions! If you want a safe and great place to stay in while in SF, you've got to check this place out! Lastly, David is a great host and will respond to your text messages ASAP (we unfortunately didn't get to meet him though).

If you're travelling on a budget, this is a great place. David's apartment was very comfortable for the 3 of us travelling together. We didn't run into him once during our 5 day stay. There was a family with a small child sharing the apartment with us, but it didn't intrude on our space. We found the neighbourhood to be vibrant, clean and central.

I used my airbnb account for my parents who were visiting the US - and the west coast for the first time. David was extremely welcoming and they came back extremely enthusiastic about him and his place. The apartment is very cosy, they had a lot of space in their comfortable bedroom. David was able to make they feel at ease even though they speak almost no english and I'm really grateful that they had such a good time!

This was just a great apartment. David is super nice and easy going with everything. He made sure everything was OK from start to end. Room was very clean and neat, might only comment it gets a little bit cold. The apartment It's a very nice and well located (Mission St, Chestnut, Golden Gate Park, Marina Bay) almost every nice place was around and close to walk or drive.

Staying at David's is like staying at a friend's home. Everything from booking to leaving went off without a hitch. For someone new to SF the location of David's place should be a serious consideration; for the budget-conscious David's place is a no-brainer. Bus stop located outside door, near Divisadero with great spots to check out and just plain convenient---cab rides from whichever direction in the city are reasonable for those late, late nights and as said, public trans is perfect for day/evening stuff. One can cook, launder clothes and basically relax as if home in his place. It wasn't a hotel. But David's was a home away from home.

David is the best. He is such a lovely and friendly person. He was even helping us to plan our trip in San Francisco and gave us usefull tips. Everything was perfect and David was super nice and easy going. The appartment is also beatiful and clean. I highly recommend a visit at David's appartment when visiting San Francisco.

David was very helpful and available. He always returned my emails very promptly. I enjoyed meeting other coresidents. The location was wonderful, suited me perfectly.

Nice clean space with two bathrooms (nice feature) and my bedroom had a window right near the bed which made sleeping lovely. David is a really nice guest and even helped me find a good place to eat. Super laid back and convient! If you are looking for a good area to stay in, a good host, and reasonable accommodations, then this is quite nice.

Staying at David's place was such a treat! First off, It was only a block away from the Painted Ladies (aka the Full House house) and very centrally located in the city. For the price, you can't beat it! Throughout our stay I experienced very prompt and thorough communication via text message with David. Also he was there to greet and show us around when we got there! I absolutely loved San Francisco and plan to stay at David's when I return! I had the best time and this was a great, first Airbnb experience! FYI, he DOES provide clean towels, sheets and some toiletries (no blowdryer though)

David is a great host and his apartment is in a perfect location. Would highly recommend and will definitely be back next time I'm in San Francisco.
