1940's Artist's Cottage in Hollywood bungalow style tree-lined community - rare find these days in Austin. Very centrally located. Walking/biking distance to South Congress venues, supermarket, banks, shops and restaurants. Cottage is one bedroom with double bed, plus futon in the living room, kitchen and bath. Slightly rustic - if you are looking for a 4-star experience, this is probably not for you! But it is comfy, cutely appointed, and in a great location surrounded by friendly neighbors. The cottage has some quirks: if you are staying during the winter, you will have to light the wall unit gas heater (see picture), to stay toasty. Please ask any questions up front, and read the reviews to discern whether the cottage is a good fit for you. Reservations are non-refundable within a week of arrival.
*NB: there is not a television in the wee cottage - it's just a peaceful place without distractions. If you are looking for the Hilton, please look elsewhere. If you are looking for a cozy funky centrally located home-base for your visit to Austin, look no further!
